Meet-ups

When meeting up take sensible precautions. Meet in a public place and let others know where you are going.

In Reverance to QueenVic who needs some cheering up!

I thought last night that it would be nice for us to meet up again soon, a lunch time ish meet with the kids (less organisation required that way!), or if you are lucky enough to be kid free for the day come along anyway! Maybe to see some of the lovely xmas lights around central London. Maybe if JL does have an ad hoc santa to see him too! I went to one of the Giraffe cafe/bars a few weeks ago, which I thought might be a good place to go? Not crowded, not overpowering music, smoke free for the kis, good reasonably priced food and very child friendly. Am open to oher ideas though!

So does anyone have any dates they can/can't do? I really enjoyed our meet up at the weekend and QueenVic is having a bit of a hard time of it at the moment and needs some cheering. Hopefully we will be able to help out and all have a good giggle at the same time.

Will be 13 months by then.

SnowQueenVictoria · 05/12/2005 22:43

I really dont know covent garden so i have no idea. Anyone else know?

SnowQueenVictoria · 05/12/2005 22:44

oh fgs thats only half a question.

Does anyone else know covent garden well or somewhere close by that is baby friendly?

OnTheFlossDayOfChristmas · 05/12/2005 22:48

Well, I admit I am a bit sick of the place, but Sofras would be baby friendly, if like all places, a little short on space. It is a turkish restuarant a short walk from the tube. Two course dinner for less than a tenner. Food is nice enough. If anyone else has any ideas I'd love to hear them, as I say, I keep ending up there! If not could try to book on Weds if someone reminds me?

AwayInAMunker · 05/12/2005 22:50

Not sure I'll eat much (if anything) if we go somewhere as having blood sugar issues atm (tis high despite me doing all things sensible ). But am totally happy to sit and chat and drink tea or water (I'm a cheap date, what can I say?!) anywhere you fancy. And I don't mind people eating chocolate cake, etc in front of me, so don't fret about that!

OnTheFlossDayOfChristmas · 05/12/2005 22:52

Its more of a starter and main course place Hunker, and I've never felt hungry enough for pudding after eating there! Lots of evil white rice though. Poor you having such probs though. You'll be super skinny in a matter of weeks, just like someone else coming Nova! You really did look great at the meet up!

AwayInAMunker · 05/12/2005 22:56

I like Sofra - am sure there'll be something I can have! Have lost weight (DH said last night "Your arse is smaller, you know" which is the nicest thing he's ever said to me ), but bump feels huge still - can't wait to meet this baby!

OnTheFlossDayOfChristmas · 05/12/2005 22:59

Not long now though, what with xmas and new year it should hopefully fly by for you. I hope so anyway, pregnancy for me seemed soooo long!

AwayInAMunker · 05/12/2005 23:07

It's gone v fast this time round - but is just beginning to drag a bit. Saying that, I go on mat leave on 16th, then it's Christmas, then New Year, then the baby's due - and I doubt it'll be late if I can't control my sugar and if it doesn't turn from being firmly breech!

Hello. I'd like to come on Monday if possible? I can't work out what the time and place is going to be though ... Dd's at playgroup until 12.15pm and I'd have to bring her with me ... She's 3, is that a problem?

AwayInAMunker · 06/12/2005 23:35

Oh, poor DD1, Lockets! DS currently demanding Fifi or Parp-parp a lot - hilarious! Has DD2 got it yet?

Kleist, how long will it take you to get to Covent Garden - not sure where you live? Yes, totally fine to bring DD - other people bringing their children too. Think we're meeting a bit earlier, but will be there later too, iyswim.

kleist · 06/12/2005 23:38

Where are you meeting? I have to give dd some nosh, though I guess you might be meeting somewhere with food? I can be in Covent Garden for around 1pm.

Not sure exactly where we're meeting - Floss mentioned Sofra? So yes, somewhere with food.

Lockets, Parp-parp is Noddy. He caught sight of Noddy on a tiny badge on a card in Woolies yesterday and said it - I had to hunt for the picture among the Thomas and Bob the Builder cards - but he'd spotted it straightaway!

AwayInAMunker · 06/12/2005 23:41

And wow on the spoonfeeding front, Lockets! Cor! DS only just getting the hang of this - did you know that porridge and yoghurt are finger food?!

kleist · 06/12/2005 23:43

I'm not sure where Sofra is ...

Dd was a Noddy maniac for such a long time. Although her real love was, weirdly, Big Ears. Then she fell for Father Christmas. I've never understood what it is about white beards that does it for her ...

AwayInAMunker · 06/12/2005 23:45

LOL! DS seems to like Noddy's car the best, but his absolute favourite is Fifi Flowertot! Yes, a programme aimed at girls aged 2-6. My DS is well and truly in touch with his feminine side

Will see if I can find the Sofra address - unless anyone else knows where it is and can give directions from the tube?
