Oh wow! How do you do birthdays/Xmas (assuming he has had one yet)?

oldsilver · 17/07/2011 21:30

Yep, he will be 6 this year!!

We do Christmas in the morning - I absolutely insist are you taking notice MIL that christmas presents have christmas wrap!!

After dinner is Birthday, when all the pressies must have birthday wrap [control issues emoticon] and Christmas Tea has been renamed birthday tea = cause it's the same type of food anyway!!

NO JOINT PRESENTS (see above emoticon)

When he wants a party (no mention yet) we will have one around 25 June so he can invite his school chums and the weather will be nicer and get even more presents !

LadyFlumpalot · 17/07/2011 21:43

Oh cool, thats what I'm planning on doing. My MIL is not happy though that I have officially moved his birthday this year to the 27th December. I have explained that:

  1. He won't know or care. He will be 1.
  2. Seeing as I spent last year having a watermelon pulled out of (using a giant pair of salad spoons) a place a watermelon (or salad spoons) should never go, me, DF and DS are having Xmas. By ourselves. No family, no parties, no nothing. Just us, a christmas tree and a roast dinner.
oldsilver · 17/07/2011 22:15

That is absolutely what I say - this is our family unit, I am celebrating the birth of my child, we are now family, and we will spend all boxing day over at their house!! Doesn't stop her from popping round on xmas morning though ... I don't exactly try to make her feel comfortable though... I. Am. Very. Mean. And Selfish.

Just to confirm then, Sat 17th August @Lime Lounge 2pm, lots of swearing and drinking encouraged, feel free to meet up as small groups beforehand so you don't have to go in by yourselves. I will call them nearer the time and book a table under the name of Mumsnet so you'll know exactly where to go.

Should you all get there before me, mine's a Guinness. That's a pint not a southern half. Smile

TheRhubarb · 20/07/2011 13:08

Oops, missed out oldsilver - can you add yourself to the list please? Any more takers just copy and paste the list and add your name to it.

MoaningMcMyrtlepants · 20/07/2011 13:41

I hope it is September, that's what is in my diary Grin

Told DH I am off on a booze up that weekend and he is quite happy, don't think he has realised it is our anniversary weekend Grin Well anniversary is 19th but we always do something on the nearest weekend.

Thandeka · 20/07/2011 18:45

Hi guys,
Was in Lime Gunge (As I maintain it is from their logo) for lunch today and it was rammed. If there are 25 of us going then maybe we want to think about prebooking some tables? Weren't we planning 2pm? Maybe sufficiently passed lunchtime rush for it to be okay and maybe it is busier midweek than weekends?
I have a printer that can print stickers- shall I be uber geek lady (spot the teacher) and print us a load of stickers with the mnet logo on so we know who to approach!
:D

TheRhubarb · 20/07/2011 20:07

I am most certainly NOT wearing a Mumsnet sticker!

I'll phone Lime Lounge with a guesstimate and see what they say, cheers Thandeka.

LadyFlumpalot · 20/07/2011 20:09

I don't need a sticker. Just look for the small skinny one with glasses and crazy lady hair. I'll probably have baby sick down me that I haven't noticed too....

TheRhubarb · 20/07/2011 20:20

Wherever I book a table I'll do so in the name of Mumsnet so all you have to do is ask for the Mumsnet table, that way we don't need any secret handshakes. Wink

If you want to wear stickers too you can do, but I'd rather not thanks. (don't particularly want to advertise to the world that I'm a mumsnetter....shhhhhh!)

oldsilver · 20/07/2011 20:51

Wahey!!! Thanks for adding to list!

Thandeka · 20/07/2011 20:55

Sobs and puts her sticker set and glitter pens away
will be carrying a fruit shoot and gregs sausage roll instead then.

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 20/07/2011 21:45

I want a sticker!

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 20/07/2011 21:55

You'll know me because I'll be holding a fag in one hand and a bottle of cheap Chardonnay in the other.

oldsilver · 20/07/2011 22:17

I shan't be coming dressed as a bottle of hooch...

Oh so that'll be two of us being all anti social then!

TheRhubarb · 21/07/2011 09:26

I'll be the one who demands a pint of Guinness and then starts an argument about the price, i.e. "HOW MUCH???? YOU ROBBIN' GREEDY GIT I COULD GET A FLIGHT TICKET TO DUBLIN FOR THAT AND HAVE A PINT THERE INSTEAD!"

Tortington · 21/07/2011 13:54

BARMAN " Be my guest lady"
Grin

OP posts:
TheRhubarb · 21/07/2011 13:58

[:P] as they don't have a tongue pulling smiley...

I'll be the one with a box round my neck saying "Guinness drinking fund, please give generously"

CatherineMumsnet · 27/07/2011 16:14

Can you add me to the list?

LadyFlumpalot · 27/07/2011 23:51

I will be driving into Bath from Shaftesbury. Going along the A350/A36 if anyone along that route wants a lift in? Smile

MoaningMcMyrtlepants · 28/07/2011 12:45

Woohoo!! another one from Mumsnet Towers, will we have to mind our P&Q's?
