What Thandeka said! Was v. sad to depart relatively early, (that is SO not my usual style) but 6 hours talking to strangers in a pub with nowt but fizzy water to sustain me was a new experience. The gas bubbles trapped under the Spanx did not help. Hope to see you all through a gentle haze of Vino Collapso next time!

Custardo - so very sorry to hear about your mishap - must have been terrifying (and I speak as a wussy learner driver). I do hope you are feeling better today and make a speedy recovery.

Well I'd love to do teh Christmas one, just it already clashes with the carnival awards whre naturally I shall be taking several prizes for ebst dancer, best float and the rest.

yes I will be at awards no doubt recreating last years 'why one should never do Irish Dancing whilst drunk and wearing slingback shoes' episode; awards- er no. Maybe not. I will be happy if next week i survice 4 hours of bloody Charleston!

BTW my friend who was hugely pregnant with the twins and was enormous (can't remember who I was telling) had them yesterday/today. First one 5lb 6oz at 11.30pm and 2nd one at 12.15am, 5lb 9oz. All well. Different birthdays!!

Made it home eventually, got back to hotel to find that they had double booked my room so nowhere to stay, stupidly drove home, skidded buggered up car, managed to get to a hotel, car still there lovely DH picked me up.

People will be unsurprised to hear that I didn't make it to Waitrose so we had Scwartz for dinner instead. DP in a bit of a piss about that (miserable git), DS thrilled

Did not get to speak to half the people I would have liked to; sorry. DH said he's have mnerrily ehaded back into town except thsoe angelic kids people were waving at through the windows were punching each other in the toy shop and the smallest one ahd decided to lie down on the ground most of the afternoon! So frankly i think he did amazingly managing it for 2 hours LOL.

Next time I will go by train.

I would bloody love to come, but unfortunately it is the weekend after I'm due to have a legendary weekend up in Birmingham, when I'll have spent all of November's £s (and some).

Oh bollocking bollocky bollocks! You had to pick my anniversary weekend on the one year that DP has actually decreed he wants to treat me to a weekend away!

I think next time we need a back-up plan just in case anyone misses their train or can't get to their hotel so that no-one is tempted to try and drive home.

Yes I had been, no I skidded on a bit of greasy road, where it had been raining,

angry with hotel as I ha dcjecked in they had all my details including phone number so could have got in contact that afternoon.

Good idea about the back up plan.

At least in London I will be coming by train and have a place to stay.

Need to get on to that one.
