Waiting for Kara...

Hello all! Am just marking my place!
So I see it was definitely worth going to the docs, hope the ENT specialist can help!

stickylittlefingers · 28/10/2011 16:42

That's great that there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel now, Indith.

If you want to cheer yourself up about having to wait, have you read "Boy" by Roald Dahl? I hadn't til a couple of weeks ago when DD1 brought it back from school. The only good thing about it was the lack of waiting... they did things differently back in the day... Wink

Just had a lovely time up at Broom House Farm. The girls got very muddy, and we all enjoyed the sunshine and the yummy food! Also, I want a piglet. Can I have a piglet please for Christmas?

Indith · 28/10/2011 18:01

Shall have to add front sleeping to my list for the paed. She still sleeps on her front now and it was the only way to get her to sleep at all as a baby. Glad H is being done without any problems.

Sticky I know that passage form "Boy" well, I thought it was fantastic and gory as a child Grin. Shall possibly avoid reading it again if dd is going to have hers out!

Been enjoying the sunny afternoon here too with a trip to Beamish. Just one weekend left then back to school.

Indith · 31/10/2011 16:08

FB says it is SPB's birthday [hshock]. Do you think if we all sing loud enough she will come and see us?

stickylittlefingers · 31/10/2011 16:44

ooops,I went and sang on the Christmas meet up thread. SPB, if you turn up (and you should really be doing something more exciting on your birthday!), I'm over there, singing me heart out.

spiggy · 02/11/2011 09:28

come out, come out wherever you are SPB! How is the work situation? Getting any better?

Right you lot, I am back to work at the end of the month (technically the 18th but I've done so much work during my Mat leave that I am staying off til 24th) and before I go I want CAKE! In fact it is not just returning-to-work cake, it is pre-wedding cake so it is twice as important. Can do any day before the 21st....

Indith · 02/11/2011 09:56

That is very important cake!

KaraStarbuckThrace · 02/11/2011 10:35

I was thinking that I should come up for cake.
I can do Friday 11th or Friday 18th? That any good?
Can I suggest the Slug & Lettuce again, as will have DS with me and he and any other wild animals darling children can run around and play leaving us to enjoy our drinks and cake.

spiggy · 02/11/2011 10:46

Sounds good to me Kara. Plus the slug have BOGOFF on cakes Grin. 11th prob better for me but can do 18th if more people can make it then.

spiggy · 02/11/2011 10:49

Or BOGOF even...sleep deprivation is getting to me. T gets distracted during daytime feeds so spends ALL SODDING NIGHT feeding. Which has the plus side of meaning that I will have to express less when I go back to work but does mean that my brain doesn't function particularly well at the moment.

stickylittlefingers · 02/11/2011 13:29

Hooray, atm at least I don't have any school trips, interviews, parents or anything on either of those days! I assume BOGOF means we get 2 cakes each...? Is the Slug and Lettuce the one down behind the library?

spiggy · 02/11/2011 14:21

SLF- I like your thinking Grin, I just thought that it would be cheaper but two cakes each is a much better plan....

It is that one behind the library, next to Ebony. Last time we were the only people there so we got to eat cake while the kids ran about.

Indith · 02/11/2011 17:09

Oh dear Spiggy, hope he gets his act together before work starts!

The BOGOF on cake is a very good thing. Chips were good too. Actually I just want the salty fried stuff.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 02/11/2011 19:01

Yes the chips did look tasty, may end up having a very early lunch of chips! DS certainly won't object :)

Shall we say 11th at around 10.30am? Is that okay for everyone?

Indith · 02/11/2011 19:25

11th fine by me, was just going to come on and say I couldn't do 18th as I'll be at bf.

dd has her paed appointment already :) 22nd November! Very impressed at speed.

stickylittlefingers · 02/11/2011 22:25

that's good about the Dr Indith. DD2 has to go to dermatology appts at UHND every year, and if we can't do the apply they give us, the next one's always months later. You've done well!

Sounds like 11th is on then? Woohoo!!

stickylittlefingers · 02/11/2011 22:27

apply = appt. Got a new computer that spellchecks automatically (not like the old one), so I forget to check what it's done. Gives me some peculiar posts sometimes!

spiggy · 03/11/2011 10:44

11th it is then Smile

Indith, glad the appointment has come through already. If they do say she needs them taken out then it might be worth pointing out the bump and asking if they can fit her in before the arrival. Even if the waiting list is several months they do get cancellations so you could ask to be on a standby list.

Bad sleep isn't actually so bad once I'm back at work. It is much easier to be a zombie at work than trying to deal with children Grin

KaraStarbuckThrace · 03/11/2011 20:17

Yippee!
DS will look forward to his bus trip. He loves going on the bus :)

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 05/11/2011 08:07

hi everyone
Sorry I've been away for so long.
Kara, sorry to hear about your aunt, and Indith, hope your granny is continuing to recover. My grandma died in the summer after years of alzheimer's, i know the mixed feeling well :(
Also - sorry to hear things are getting on top of you. I finally have some days off coming up so can we arrange to get together, or I can take Daisy o the park with A - what can we do?

slf thanks for the happy birthday song, I have just read it but didn't actually realise it was for me :)

stickylittlefingers · 06/11/2011 15:15

that's OK SPB - dimbo that I am, I went back to threads I'm on and posted it on the wrong one. At least it wasn't the runners' thread. I'd have felt a right plunker then!

stickylittlefingers · 06/11/2011 15:15

plunker!!!! What's one of them then?

KaraStarbuckThrace · 07/11/2011 15:58

What's a dimbo?
Grin

Indith · 09/11/2011 10:25

I'm stuck!

Dd is under the weather, all clingy and sleepy and no appetite. She slept on the school run this morning and when we got home we came up here to the loft so she could snuggle down and watch Fantasia but she has flipping well fallen asleep, Fantasia is finished and I really can't go anywhere or do anything useful as she is just sprawled on the bed in the middle of a load of junk. If I try to bring her down I'll either wake her and start the clingy complaining again an dI don't want to as she clearly needs to sleep or I'll break my neck on the narrow, curved stairs.

stickyLFDTfingers · 09/11/2011 10:29

(a) play on MN/any other entertainment til she wakes up
(b) go to sleep yourself

I'd favour (b) myself, that kind of day...
