Waiting for Kara...

Either way you were going to end up with 2 of one, and 1 of the other :P

spiggy · 04/10/2011 10:29

Sad I know you were looking forward to the surprise. If it is any consolation I still had to get the mws to triple check as I never quite believed them (even though with DD and DS2 I had loads of scans and made them look each time) Smile for everything looking good though!

10th should be fine for me- I can get out for 8ish.

Yes cake is needed- I'm back to work next month- eek!

Indith · 04/10/2011 13:22

Flipping heck Spiggy, is it 6 months already? Cake is deffo needed then.

Poor sonographer was mortified though I would probably have noticed anyway, this child is unashamed! I felt so sorry for her though, she said it was the first time she had ever made that mistake. She was running late though after having to go and do an emergency scan so who knows what sort of rough day and horrible news she may have had to give :(, enough to make anyone start getting things wrong.

Suppose I can start sorting out the loft though!

stickylittlefingers · 04/10/2011 17:28

hi everyone! I'm sorry I've been away so long (from thread and in RL!)... Indith, that's great news about your scan being all positive :)

If anyone feels the need to eat cake, I am living the life of riley atm and would love to catch up!

KaraStarbuckThrace · 04/10/2011 19:06

OK so what day for cake?
Ideally I would like to do Tuesday morning - about 10am as would need to leave by 12pm to pick DS up from school, or I could do Monday or Friday and bring him with me?

Indith · 05/10/2011 10:48

I can do Mon, Tue, Wed and every other Friday for cake (not this Friday so could do Friday after)

Good to see you slf, was actually jsut thinking about you yesterday in a driving down your road "oh this is where slf lives not heard from her in a while" sort of way.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 05/10/2011 11:24

Can't do Tuesday coming, had forgotten the car is going in for a service and it'll be picked up sometime between 9 and 11:30am.
If you can't do this Friday, could we make it next Friday (14th?).

Could we go to the pub at the Arnison? So at least those of bringing feral preschoolers have somewhere to play and stop interrupting our chat? Is there anywhere else we can go? I was thinking maybe the pub near Ebony, that was quite spacious, we could set up in a little corner and bring a few toys and hope the staff- don't chuck us out--

Indith · 05/10/2011 14:28

We could go to the one that does 241 cocktails and just ignore the feral ones?

No?

Not sure, what sort of time are we thinking? I can just about stretch to cake, cannot go out for lunch though, need to save up for a couple of meals out, one with the local rabble and then Christmas with you lot. I think the dcs might expect some birthday and Christmas presents too, are they too old to just be given a cardboard box?

LeggyBlondeNE · 05/10/2011 14:30

The Slug? That is good for kids - plenty of high chairs and a big carpetted area with sofas.

I can do Tuesdays after 12, Wednesdays and Fridays this term.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 05/10/2011 20:35

I am fine with just cake, Is the Friday I suggested doable?
Yes it was the Slug and Fiddle I was thinking of, name escaped me momentarily. Think they did nice hot chocolate, IIRC?

durhambound · 06/10/2011 11:55

Hi ladies, sorry for the hijack of your lovely thread but if anyone has any time to answer my thread on Durham local I would really appreciate it. We are looking to relocate to the area and would like any advice on towns/villages within commuting distance of schools in Durham.

Thankyou. Smile

Indith · 06/10/2011 13:32

I can do the 14th yes Kara, Slug and Lettuce, slugs can't play the fiddle, not enough fingers.

10/10.30 for morning cake dose then? Give time for everyone to get home for lunch and do school drop offs before heading in.

durham I shall scoot over and take a look, feel free to ask any questions on here though or start another thread in CHAT with Durham in shiny big letters as there are loads of us but the local board is very much neglected Blush.

spiggy · 06/10/2011 13:45

Hello durhambound, hijacks welcome from potential newbies but I'm afraid I'm too far north to be of much use. I'm sure the Durham based bods will have a bit of advice for you though. You do realise that if you move up here then it is compulsory to join us for cake?

Next week- am waiting to find out what day the lovely new shiny cooker is being delivered as they can't tell me til tomorrow. Other than that I can do any day except Monday. Something nice and cheap would be good. Between a new cooker, the fire, bastard woodworm, extortionate metro ticket renewal for me and DP and getting hitched we are skint. Oh and 2 kids with birthdays round Christmas.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 06/10/2011 13:52

Cool... I see I was getting my pub names confused Blush

I am having my first night out next Tuesday, very local, going for a meal with my NCT buds in Yarm!

stickylittlefingers · 07/10/2011 14:17

hello - so it's round 10/10.30 on 14th for cake - yay :)... will drive around looking for pubs with the word slug in the title. Have a cake in each maybe!

Indith I've been meaning to say - we've spent the summer eating your squidgy cookies!! They're lush... favourite spin on them so far has been with cocoa, oats, choc chips and bits of apricot. They've all been good tho, fab recipe.

Off to look for Durhambound's thread now...

stickylittlefingers · 07/10/2011 17:23

so that was short-lived cake anticipation... apparently I have been "picked" (DD1- v excited, me - not so much!) to accompany the school trip that day. How annoying it had to be that one day! But I'll keep this thread on watch for the next meet up...:)

Indith · 10/10/2011 17:44

Oh no slf! We really will have to plan the next one around you, it has been far too long!

KaraStarbuckThrace · 10/10/2011 21:18

Oh what a shame, SLF :(

There is a mum in my Due in June PN group who wants to meet up, she can't do this Friday but I said to keep checking this thread.

curiouselle · 10/10/2011 21:25

Hello, I am the Mum from karastar 's thread who would like to join in the chat, and any cake going! I live near Newcastle airport :)

stickylittlefingers · 10/10/2011 21:46

Hi curiouselle hopefully we'll both be at the next cakefest!

curiouselle · 10/10/2011 22:05

I love the word 'cakefest' - am going to use it lots ;)

spiggy · 11/10/2011 10:31

Can come on Fri- shiny new cooker arrives tomorrow- woo hoo! 10 months since we had an oven so I have a huge list of things I want to cook. Starting with cake Grin

sorry you can't come this time, see you next time though!

KaraStarbuckThrace · 11/10/2011 16:13

Spiggy - so when are you inviting us around Wink

spiggy · 12/10/2011 10:32

Grin you will all be more than welcome once I have some habitable rooms! We have got so much going on that we can only get in a couple of rooms. Getting evicted from the living room on Saturday so we can get the chimney ready for the woodburner. I think we might end up camping in the garage at this rate!

I have to issue a warning for Fri- there will be a cake thief amongst us. DP had T on his knee last night while he was having a cuppa and slice of cake. He turned to talk to me and T snatched the cake off the plate and was munching away on it. Shock Most of it got spat out but he looked very pleased with himself.

Indith · 12/10/2011 10:38

Spiggy I'm reporting you to social services. Feeding cake to a small baby! It beggars belief it really does.

HEllo curious :)

Do you think one of you could remember to text me on Friday morning otherwise I'm just going to end up pottering to singing starz in teh morning and then swearing later when I get home and realise I've missed cake. My brain does not function very well.
