Week 3 - Autumn Low Carb Bootcamp - The Crossroads!

So we have reached the end of the first two, strict weeks.

By now, if you have stuck to your knitting, you should be ketogenically adapted - which is to say, you should have switched your body from burning carbs to burning fat.

Hurrah!

You now have a choice. You can relax things a little and can include some fruit (berries) and some nuts/seeds - and a little alcohol in moderation The rules of Bootcamp Light are on the spreadsheet.

Or

You can stay on Bootcamp, if it suits you - as long as you promise me that you are getting your carbs from vegetables and salad!

Another option, which many of us adopt, is to do Bootcamp during the week and Bootcamp Light at the weekend.

The choice is entirely yours!

I have learnt an awful lot from these threads, and have found them very supportive though haven't posted previously.

Am I too late to add myself to the spreadsheet and join in properly? Been keeping track of my weight since start sept, but felt a bit of a fraud as am sticking to bootcamp light as feeding 3 month old.

Well BIWI you can carry on bullying me into being thin any day of the week! A couple of weeks ago I would post my daily food and hope that it would pass muster with you. And if you hadn't told me wherre I was wrong I would now be wailing and wondering why the scales had not budged.

We are all behind you ..... all ten tons or whatever of us in our combined weights!

Sorry about that stupid thread BIWI.

I'm proud as I went to a wedding yesterday and was NOT a carby twat :) I had one glass of champagne and one of wine, and absent mindedly ate one triangle of bread with my salmon but that was it. No potatoes with my lamb, refused my pudding, no biscuit with my coffee, no other drinks. Hurray :)

Managed to get through a 6 hour running/biking/kayaking charity event yesterday without resorting to carbs! Huge thanks to BIWI for the advice and encouragement - I had quite a few people saying I wouldn't be able to do it but they were wrong. Refused all the sweets, chocolate and energy drinks I was offered and managed on nuts, cheese, turkey pieces and an Atkins bar (which was very sweet and pretty revolting actually). And of course lots of water. Didn't feel lacking in energy at all. Afterwards there was a hog roast so just had meat and salad. Did succumb to two bottles of lager though so not perfect. Planning to be strict today and drink a lot of water (and take lots of nurofen for my aching muscles!).

Spinach & feta pie sounds yum - have bookmarked the recipe to use later in the week :)

Have parents coming over for Sunday lunch later, so I've got a big tray of roasties in the oven for everyone else, and an almost equally large tray of celeriac, butternut squash and garlic in the oven for me. (I'm counting on leftovers for breakfast for a couple of days!) I've also had a go at a crumble using ground almonds and butter for the topping - I'll report back once we've tried it...

BIWI a lot of regulars have been picked on just because they are regulars. don't let the bastards get you down. You know that your advice is invaluable. And greatly appreciated by many. You can never please all the people all of the time. And people like to complain more then they praise. Just remember how many people you have actually helped. That number is huge. Be strong and try to focus on this more then the negative miserable minority. Flowers

I got asked if I had lost weight yesterday. Made me feel bit better although i did put on weight last week. The bigger picture says I have lost weight this year must remember this and remain focused Finished the NSAIDs, still a lot of swelling so not hopeful for tomo, will be glad when the side effects disappear too. Feeling meh and yucky today. I love that ds is so sharing. Wish he wasn't such a germ cultivator though Hmm

I have missed all of this as have just got home after a week away (draws veil over sustained carby twat eating Blush ) but I have been on MN for years and on bootcamp from very early on and have never seen BIWI bully anyone, sometimes in the face of severe provocation too! Ignore ignore ignore!

BIWI you have a bosom! I visualised you skinny as a rake with a couple of fried eggs for a bosom.....

Today was my biggest challenge. Went to a party in a small kitchen with a lot of people and tried to look like I was eating when I wasn't. After eating the insides of a couple of cheese and tomato sandwiches, I tried to prolong the eating by slowly nibbling the corner of a dorito, and resorted to licking about four doritas clear off all their flavourings..never ate the crisp itself...Realised as I had fininshed that I must have looked a right weirdo doing that! Still, tomorrow is weigh in day... the moment of truth.....

Grin whodunnit!

Actually I do have a bosom, although it has shrunk considerably over the last year or so. Whilst I was a bit disappointed about losing cleavage, I have also lost crepeyness, which can only be a good thing!

Mind you, if I continue eating like I have this weekend ...

I have been a thoroughly carby twat this week, and have given in to my inner gobbler.

Tomorrow is another day, to quote someone sort of famous!

well, BIWI, I was looking at my profile sideways today and feeling slight disappointment that my belly and boobs are all still in a vertical line I had hoped to see the midriff and its underlings leaning in a bit further. Then I realised that my boobs had shrunk a bit, so it is all in the same proportion but a bit smaller. Tested it by trying on a bra from 8 years ago. It was tight and not great, but I was a lot closer to getting back into it. Not that I save all my ancient underwear....this was just a pretty hardly worn one that I didn't want to throw away.

Just my musings for the day.....

That's the thing, whodunnit - and it's why it's always good to have a particular item of clothing to keep trying on.

I found that I lost weight in proportion. So it was difficult, looking in the mirror, to really believe that I had lost weight. The only way I realised that I had, was through my clothes.
