The other thread was almost full, so here's a bright, shiny new one.

And here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

And just in case you haven't discovered it yet, here is the recipe thread. Some truly lovely recipes on here that are worth a try.

Timidtwin, I am copying you again, the weekend is probably left unsaid Grin

Had my college induction yesterday afternoon, I am no officially a student! I start classes next Tuesday.

MrsHerculePoirot · 27/08/2013 10:58

Well done crabby on your assessment.

black how exciting, what is your course in?

I also had a horrific weekend carb wise - I know though that lot of water and back on it today means it will all be gone within a few days. We are embarking on a kitchen extension which means we'll likely have no kitchen for the best part of three months. I have bought a George Foreman grill (the big one which cooks 8-10 chicken breasts) and we have a microwave and possibly an electric streamer so hopefully won't all be bad, but it will e tough I think!!!

timidviper · 27/08/2013 11:04

MrsHP We had our kitchen done before I started low-carbing so have no direct experience, I think we lived on M&S ready meals for a few weeks. I was surprised at how many ready meals were made to oven bake rather than for microwave at the time. The "George Formby" Grin and steamer sound like a good idea.

It is fantastic to have a new kitchen as it is exactly how you want it. We live in ours.

timidviper · 27/08/2013 11:05

Black Good luck with college, what are you doing there?

daisychicken · 27/08/2013 11:25

Had a naff weekend, full of bad carbs...... and the spots are coming back..... argh! Back on track today.

Well done Crabby and Beryl. Good luck Black!

QueenQueenie · 27/08/2013 14:04

Wanted to share my breakfast with you...
I often have greek yoghurt / berries / vanilla essence.
This morning realised I had no vanilla but added some (no sugar) rosewater instead.
It was divine. Food of the gods.

captainmummy · 27/08/2013 15:49

Mouse - isn't it 'Tilly, Tom and Tiny?... dc used to love that prog.

MrsHP - good luck with the kitchen! I loved doing mine (a couple years ago) even the washing-up in the bath!

Too much dairy today (greek yog, cheese-and-marmite, st Agur on celery) but dinner will be roast pork leg with cabbage.

TrucksAndDinosaurs · 27/08/2013 16:16

Who has found they lost weight then got stuck for a bit?
I have been at 144lbs for over a fortnight, after losing 13lbs in 6 weeks.
I have been low carbing, in fact some days ultra-low carbing.
Reckon its normal after a big drop to level off a bit?
I'm only about 5lbs from goal now....

MrsHerculePoirot · 27/08/2013 16:18

trucks. I still have stones and stones to go, but lots of others have said that weight loss slows right down as you approach goal. Maybe your body likes that weight?!? I'll tell you in about 5 stones time Wink

BIWI · 27/08/2013 18:59

It's a combination of getting near your target and also losing quite a lot in a relatively short space of time!

Don't despair, and keep on keeping on.

TrucksAndDinosaurs · 27/08/2013 19:25

Thanks Biwi and Mrs Poirot!
Today I have had 700 calories and 19g carbs

Chicken drumsticks and wings after Shred

Half the chicken breast with avocado and spinach and one strawberry and cucumber in a salad with tarragon olive oil.

Dinner will be the rest of the chicken breast with spinach and mushrooms in Tom yum soup with cabbage noodles

Whole day will come in about 1200-1300 calories and about 28g carbs.

Other days have come in at 10g carbs, one was 46g carbs and 1800 calories - interestingly, after that day I was lighter and leaner.

I've been consistently under 60g carbs since I started.

I'm mixing it up a bit with some very low carb days (basically eggs meat and salad) and some days with about 20-30g carbs. The average day is about 25g and 1600 calories, with Shred every day for a 5'6 woman. It explains rapid weight loss - I guess levelling out for a few weeks isn't too bad. I need to be careful I don't go too low as I'm breast feeding 4x daily.

timidviper · 27/08/2013 19:30

Are you having enough Trucks? My stomach would think my throat was cut if I only had half a chicken breast at a meal!

TrucksAndDinosaurs · 27/08/2013 19:35

Over the whole day I will have eaten 2 legs, 2 wings and breast and skin - most of the chicken! Plus a whole avocado and a lot of salad/spinach/ cabbage - so that is pretty filling! I think I eat enough most days: it's quite hard to eat over 1600 calories if all you eat is meat, veg, salad, oil, eggs, bit of cheese...

StatisticallyChallenged · 27/08/2013 20:28

I'm not officially a bootcamper but may I ask a quick question please?

For those of you who suffered the (from what I can tell) common post induction stall, how long did the bugger last?

BIWI · 27/08/2013 20:29

It shouldn't really last more than a couple of weeks. Why? What's happened to you?!

OP posts:
MrsHerculePoirot · 27/08/2013 20:30

Is it possible you are not eating enough fat then to bump up those calories a little bit. I had a hungrier day today than usual, but was well over 2000 calories? I don't know though, just a thought...

Mouseface · 27/08/2013 20:31

Not sure Captain! I will Google the song and let you know once I've put the boy to bed, and will be back for a chat :) xxx

StatisticallyChallenged · 27/08/2013 20:45

Oh nothing dramatic, just wondered cos I'm an impatient sod whose body has a habit of refusing to lose weight, so wondered what was "normal" for this WOE. I'm on about 10 days so far so it's good to know a couple of weeks is normal

TrucksAndDinosaurs · 27/08/2013 20:47

Fat is almost always over 100g a day so don't think that is the culprit. I often drink raw coconut oil first thing and everything has oil and butter on it.

Maybe it's muscle building: I'm using 5 or ten pound weights and doing full press ups etc. Am definitely getting toned.
Tummy still fat though.

Evening Campers.......

Trucks - I so wish I could exercise! Sad My only lifting is Nemo (DS for those who don't know who has Complex Special Needs and I'm also disabled, mobility problems with degenerative disc disease) and that's it. i can't hoover, mop or anything, some would whoop at that but looking at a dirty floor, waiting for DH to do it for me drives me nuts!! Grin I'd love to be able to go for a long walk along the beaches here like we used to, a run in the dawn or at dusk, use the gym I pay for!

It is Tilly, Tom and Tiny - you were right Captain but it's still in my flippin head!! Grin

Anyway - today I have had....

B was scrambled egg and 2 small rashers of crispy bacon.

L was chicken salad with cheese and mayo

S was handful of hazelnuts and walnuts which I have found are really low in carbs, lower than macadamia nuts! Brazils are and pecans too! I thought that macadamias were the lowest but not in Tesco. High in fibre too for those who need it like me!! Grin

D was tuna steak, fried in a dash or two of soy sauce, , bit of fresh garlic and some chilli flakes, spring onions (small handful) and salad.

Four pints of water so far, on number five now.

We've decided to come home a day early from our holiday as DD's friend is poorly and it's going to piss down here on Thursday, plus we have to be out by 10am which is going to be shit timing with Nemo's tube feed..... so can you all cross your crossables for some lovely weather in North Wales tomorrow pretty please for our last full day? Thank you. :)

Hope everyone is okay and looking forward to the September Bootcamp, I think I might weigh myself on Friday morning rather than as soon as I get home on Thursday but I bet I won't be able to resist!! Grin

MrsHerculePoirot · 27/08/2013 22:15

TrucksAndDinosaurs · 28/08/2013 01:32

Just back from A&E because toddler fell and sliced head open.
Having wine and fag and bit shakey: there was so much blood and he had to be sedated and the meds didn't work so we had to hold him down.

Argh.

TrucksAndDinosaurs · 28/08/2013 01:33

He has autism so it was particularly grim.
Poor thing: he was terrified.
