The other thread was almost full, so here's a bright, shiny new one.

And here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

And just in case you haven't discovered it yet, here is the recipe thread. Some truly lovely recipes on here that are worth a try.

imatot clean teeth or go to bed!

MrsHerculePoirot · 25/08/2013 22:01

Don't do it though, you'll be annoyed in the morning if you do...

Mouseface · 25/08/2013 22:54

Evening all :)

Beryl - you are fab! And I feel just like you do. I don't miss stodgy, cloggy sandwiches slumping in my stomach and I don't miss carrots, I don't miss cake, or wine, or sugar, or fresh hot doughnuts (on holiday and passed a fresh doughnut stall today and almost fainted at the smell! Grin), I don't miss processed meats.... foods, anything.

I LOVE - this way of eating, I am so much more alert, I no longer fall asleep in the afternoon after lunch and doing a night shift with Nemo, even if I'm up half the night, I still wake alert, not grumpy.

I love the way that it's all good fats, healthy fats, the way that nature intended! I'm not a huge fan of veg but adding some garlic and spices to them, frying them in butter etc, adding them to chicken and other meats, means I am hoovering them up. :)

Strawberries and cream for desert, is amazing! (7 mid size strawbs = 4.8g of carbs) I used to think that was fattening, and go for the zero fat yogs, low fat everything, diet everything - GAH!!

So, yep.... this is me, Mouse and I am tiny, alert, fab skin, lovely shiny albeit very short hair, bright eyes and drinking 5 pints of water a day (I am having to wee in the night!!) and feeling fandabydozy! Grin

Right, tis late so I'm offski.

You guys are all ace and doing so well, every time I log on, I find another gem, (Thank you for the crispy cheese recipe - so going to give them a go!) even on my hols, I've stayed firmly on track, even eating out - steak, a few pieces of broccoli and a few peas as that's all they had, pint of water and a vodka and slimline tonic. Normally, I would want to have a desert, but I actually didn't. I was full! FULL!!!! WHOOP WHOOP! Grin

Sleep well lovely BCers :) xxx

Sorry for waffling on Blush

BIWI · 25/08/2013 23:10

Thank you mouseface, I needed that post.

MrsH, I didn't do it. Grin

MrsHerculePoirot · 26/08/2013 09:41

Well done imatot and I bet you felt virtuous this morning!

CrabbyBigBottom · 26/08/2013 09:48

Flowers Flowers *Beryl you rock!!! Flowers Flowers Well done. I bet you're bloody sore this morning. Shock

Go Mouse!! Grin You sound so happy and positive, it's lovely to hear!

My bit of good news is that I passed my reassessment on Wednesday so that's me let loose on the public again (I'm a community first responder) for another year. Grin

Well I've taken my eye off the ball a bit, diet wise. I'm going to do bootcamp in September so I've given myself permission to be a bit lax until then. Interestingly though, I'm finding that I still prefer to eat low carb the majority of the time. I'm rather looking forward to September now - the kids going back to school and DD and I getting back into our usual routines, refocusing on health and fitness, autumn coming with crisper mornings and the colours turning... Grin

Marking place as need to get stricter again, serious carb creep = weight gain 😧 will catch up on posts later and do a good supermarket shop too later....

TrucksAndDinosaurs · 26/08/2013 13:08

beryl wow wow you are a star!

prettybird · 26/08/2013 13:40

My advice to you Beryl for the next week today is not to get on a bike Grin

That's when your lady bits you really feel it! Wink

Lighthousekeeping · 26/08/2013 13:42

Today I've got to get strict only a week eft until my holidays. Tesco have messed up my weekly shop so it's not going to be easy!

KinkyDorito · 26/08/2013 13:51

Okay, I need some help. I'm starting this WOE today and need some ideas for meals I can feel my family that can be based around a low carb centre that I can eat too. Problem: I only eat fish. Second problem: have picky kids.

What do you feed yours? Any suggestions will be appreciated Thanks.

KinkyDorito · 26/08/2013 14:01

When I say I only eat fish, I mean I don't eat read meat/chicken!

StuntNun · 26/08/2013 14:03

Do you eat eggs Kinky? Lots of options there if you do. I find a lot of the usual things I made before starting the woe are easily adapted. E.g. salmon, new potatoes and a vegetable - I cook two vegetables instead and have salmon and veggies while the kids have everything. Make sure there is lots of fat by cooking the salmon with butter and either cooking the vegetables in olive oil / butter or add melted butter at the end of cooking.

KinkyDorito · 26/08/2013 14:08

I eat eggs, yes. We were very much a pasta family, so have to start gravitating towards meat/two veg style meals. I will try them with salmon again.

Should I always be adding loads of fat to veg?

prettybird · 26/08/2013 14:47

It sounds counter-intuitive, but if you want to feel statiated, so that you don't snack "because you feel hungry" Hmm, then yes, you do need to add fat to your veg and/or make sure you are having fatty meat. And since you only eat fish, then adding fat to your veg is probably the easiest way to do it.

KinkyDorito · 26/08/2013 16:03

Thanks Smile.

ImATotJeSuisUneTot · 26/08/2013 19:59

Ok, DD1 has picked Pizza Express for her birthday this weekend - would the baked aubergine thing be a good choice?

I know I could just say 'sod it' but two days in i'm feeling really great, by Saturday I hope to be even better!

ImATotJeSuisUneTot · 26/08/2013 20:02

Or perhaps this salad?

Bosco
Warm garlic mushrooms, baby mozzarella, avocado, roasted tomatoes, spinach, rocket, balsamic syrup, honey & mustard dressing, warm dough sticks

No dough sticks!

LilyAmaryllis · 26/08/2013 22:00

Wow and well done Beryl. I should think you burned up the tiny amount of carbs you ate straight away on that mega 90 mile route.

Well done Crabby we knew you'd pass with flying colours!

ImATot you'll just have to overlook the honey in the salad dressing. I think either that or the baked aubergine would be fine.

Still keeping on keeping on, still with more of a waist etc than before. Probably indulging in too much easy cheese at the moment. I'll try to pay that more attention come 9th Sept.

Sorry you've had to endure some carby food offerings BIWI

Mouseface · 26/08/2013 22:10
CrabbyBigBottom · 26/08/2013 23:00

Thank you Lily xx Smile

I weighed myself today for the first time in about a month. I was expecting a big gain as I've been pretty off-road...

2lbs gain! Shock Shock

I'm ashamed to say that this led me to consume granola, bread and icecream today.

Last week of the summer holidays - dog days of madness before September sanity.

timidviper · 26/08/2013 23:13

Well the less said about what I ate this weekend the better! Anyway, back on the wagon tomorrow so onward and downward! Grin

Ooh I'm just watching Nigel Slater turn butternut squash peel into crisps. I know it isn't allowed on bootcamp but a low carb blog I get suggested butternut pieces wrapped in streaky bacon as canapes so may be an option for later on, how exciting! Nigel still looks like he needs a good wash though.

sybilfaulty · 27/08/2013 07:23

Morning campers!

Greetings from sunny Cornwall. Having a fab time and doing well with the carbs, although far too much wine is going down. I had a planned cheat on Sunday when we were out for lunch and I had a small bowl of crab linguine which used to be my absolute favourite food in the world. The sauce was great but suffice it yo say I can't imagine ever eating pasta again. So heavy and bloating. Yuk. I think I'll have to commit pasta to the list of things to be eaten at someone's house to avoid being rude only.

sybilfaulty · 27/08/2013 07:25

Oh and Dh and I were chatting last night at supper about low carb and India knight and then she walked past! Spooky.
