The other thread was almost full, so here's a bright, shiny new one.

And here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

And just in case you haven't discovered it yet, here is the recipe thread. Some truly lovely recipes on here that are worth a try.

I'm going to have to devise my own ubercamp menu as well Secondsop as I can't eat eggs and all the menus involve either eggs, mayo or both. I suppose a low carb egg-free mayo would be too much to ask for!

Alambil · 12/08/2013 13:29

If 8 go hell for leather with this, can I lose 1 or 2 dress sizes in 6 weeks?

Alambil · 12/08/2013 13:30

if I go obv...fat fingers!

NigellasGuest · 12/08/2013 13:50

stuntnun column C of the ubercamp menu is for egg-free I think!

WillieWaggledagger · 12/08/2013 13:56

it does still contain eggs as an ingredient though nigella - just not in egg form iyswim

there aren't rules for ubercamp - you just follow the menu and quantities. basically, it's a dairy-free menu with specific quantities of stuff containing carbs so that you keep the carbs very low (below 20g per day ish)

WillieWaggledagger · 12/08/2013 13:58

tbh though, it's only one day that includes mayonnaise that i can see (day one) and you could just have day two's lunch again if you wanted and then it would be completely egg-free

StuntNun · 12/08/2013 13:59

Lewis I've lost 18 lb in seven weeks (with a two week holiday in the middle where I gained weight). I've gone from a size 16 to currently on the small side of 14 (14 a bit loose but 12 a bit tight). You might be able to do it if you're stricter, e.g. bootcamp instead of light. If I were you I would pay closer attention to your carb counts each day and I would get some urine dipsticks so that you can check you're in ketosis.

StuntNun · 12/08/2013 14:02

Thanks Willie that would work. BIWI had advised against swapping the menus around because the carbs are worked out for the day as a whole but I'm sure I can muddle through if it's only for three days. I really miss eggs, it's a pita avoiding them although it probably helps that I can't eat cakes! But if I eat even a small quantity if egg then DS3 gets a rash and stops sleeping at all for two nights so it's just not worth it. Hmm

IBO · 12/08/2013 14:13

wHERE DO YOU BUY URINE DIPSTICKS?

NigellasGuest · 12/08/2013 14:29

any chemist IBO but you will probably have to ask for them - they're called Keto sticks (or the ones I had were, and I got them from Superdrug)

WillieWaggledagger · 12/08/2013 14:30

yes that must be a pain - i think in your case a little bit of flexibility with the menus would be allowed!

WillieWaggledagger · 12/08/2013 14:31

be careful with the ketostix IBO - if you're drinking enough water they probably won't give a very strong result despite the fact you are in ketosis

WillieWaggledagger · 12/08/2013 14:33

lewis - you might well do, though i wouldn't want to guarantee it, but with this WOE you are more likely to change shape more quickly than with other diets i think, because you lose the carb bloat and so look trimmer at a given weight than you would do if you were eating a high carb diet (if that makes sense)

IBO · 12/08/2013 14:37

Re carb bloat - that is so true. Even tho I have't lost a pound last week I definetly feel not bloated at all and my shape has changed!

Thanks Willie i do drink 3l of water so probably it is not worth buting ketostix

StuntNun · 12/08/2013 14:38

From what I've read on other forums you don't want the ketostix to go very dark as this would mean the level of ketones bodies in your blood is too high. If you're drinking enough water then they will only go slightly darker.

Lighthousekeeping · 12/08/2013 17:53

I haven't lost a single pound Sad I'm much less bloated though. I may need to do uber camp from tomorrow.

Abouttime · 12/08/2013 18:56

Quick question ladies...how do I make pesto. I've got olive oil, fresh basil & pine nuts....do I just mix together?

StuntNun · 12/08/2013 20:04

I was completely wiped out today after swimming. I don't know whether it's because I'm unfit or a side effect of low carbing.

B: Greek yoghurt and double cream
L: two burgers, cucumber and a cherry tomato (there were only two left in the fridge so DS3 had one and I had the other!)
S: pork scratchings
D: fried salmon and stir fried fine green beans

Secondsop · 12/08/2013 20:40

My day:

B- 2 boiled eggs, asparagus, smoked salmon, hollandaise.
L- bit of basil tofu, salad, couple of tablespoons of shop bought chicken and bacon and sweetcorn (I know I know but there's barely any corn in it)
D- chicken chimichangas made with bean curd sheets instead of tortilla. With home made guacamole and iceberg lettuce.
S-a few Brazil nuts and pecan nuts.

CheeseAndFriedMushrooms · 12/08/2013 20:56

Well I have to confess I completely fell off the wagon last week after my amazing 7lbs loss. DH came home after two weeks working away, plus our anniversary and some bad news about some money meant I had a few bad days including a sandwich, diet coke, wine and a burger (including the bread) 😔 no potatoes though, hurrah.

However slowly climbed back on the wagon on Friday, and am doing ok again.

B Greek yogurt with 5 strawberrys
L salad with eight cherry toms, cucumber , tin of tuna in oil, tbsp mayo, and some sainsburys basics mozzarella pearls all mixed together
D 2 salmon fillets with herb butter plus 6 mange tout and 4 baby corn stirfriedmtigether together
S 6 baby bel 😧, tons of water, 2 boiled eggs with mayo, 7 almonds

I seem to be craving cheese, more than normal. Any idea why? Am not as hungry for meals ( but not like last time where I actually forgot to eat) , I just want to eat cheese! Got the horrible bad fatty taste in mouth too, so every time I want cheese, I have a glass of water first... Could I be craving cheese as I am ebf a 4 month old?!

DH away again for two weeks so would like to surprise him with more weight loss. Will post every day what I eat

TheRedRabbit · 12/08/2013 20:59

Hi everyone, I have been lurking for a while and doing LC for the last 6 weeks with DH. DH has lost 9lbs so far and I've lost 3lbs, grrrrr....

But I only want to lose 10lbs so I suppose slow and steady is the way. The thing I am struggling most about is drinking enough water so I wonder if that is slowing my weight loss down.

Today I had:

B: 2 scrambled eggs with butter
L: Pret chicken salad and some hazlenuts and almonds
S: small piece of cheese
D: Sag paneer with coconut cream and cauliflower rice

But only 1.5 litres water. I'm going to have a pint of iced coffee with cream now to up my liquid intake.

And I want to wave to BIWI and say how amazing you are at informing and encouraging everyone! I think its a great diet and I've been very impressed at all the links to research etc which give me confidence that this is a healthy WOE for life!

TheRedRabbit · 12/08/2013 21:14

...Add a square of 85% chocolate to that list....

Alambil · 12/08/2013 21:31

Is home made tzatziki bad or Ok?

QueenQueenie · 12/08/2013 21:33

Not if it's just yoghurt / cucumber / mint I wouldn't have thought (unless you are cutting out dairy for Bootcamp.

Mouseface · 12/08/2013 21:54

Evening all! Great to see people doing well :)

I'm still here!! Been away for a few days and DID NOT BREAK MY LOW/NO CARB DIET!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to shout but it was the shitest of shit times where we stayed, hovel does not come close and there was cake, wine, cake, wine, chips, wine, bread, wine, pizza, wine, cake, wine, so much food and wine and I stayed on my Bootcamp!! I am well chuffed, sorry but I feckin am! Grin

On Friday I go away for 2 weeks and intend to stay on the diet. I feel so much lighter, brighter, no tummy cramps, no rushing to the loo with bowel issues, my skin looks amazing, I am slim and feel toned, energised and looking 5 years younger! I have NO OVERHANG on my jeans!! I just feel great. BOING!!!! Grin

Thank you a million times, thank you all who have contributed and of course again to BIWI xxx

I am less grumpy, no falling asleep at the pc in the pm, no grumps, no moods, no grouchy Mouse...... I feel great.

My pain killers seem to work better too, they seem to absorb better as if they're not being blocked? Yes, I know that sounds crazy....

I'm on 2/3 litres of water a day, lots of salad, chicken, eggs, low carb veg, fat and loving this. Pure, natural foods, as nature intended!

I did Intense Atkins (dodges slap from Bootcampers) when we lost our triplets because I wanted to lose weight fast so I didn't look pg anymore, and I did, but I felt ill all of the time. I was jittery, a coiled spring, snappy and my periods stopped. I lost 3 stone very fast, as fast as I'd put it on really which was bad at the time. Sad

So, this is my life, Bootcamp is it, the one that works!! Yipeeeeeee! Grin

Hope you are all okay and that those struggling get to where I am soon, it's just so easy!! But I am a technophobe so can't fill my weight etc in!! Grin

Night all xxx
