The other thread was almost full, so here's a bright, shiny new one.

And here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

And just in case you haven't discovered it yet, here is the recipe thread. Some truly lovely recipes on here that are worth a try.

Well done Mouse ! Brilliant stuff in the face of temptation.

And well done IBO and other ubercampers. Sorry you haven't had losses on the scales, maybe you've done ubercamp while in the week 3/4 stall? I'm sure if you keep going you will see your weight go down.

I had lunch in what must be a very enlightened cafe as they had on the menu - pan-fried salmon with avocado and cucumber salad. Yes please!

Secondsop · 13/08/2013 00:14

Amazing mouse!

TrucksAndDinosaurs · 13/08/2013 03:41

CheeseAndFriedMushrooms · 13/08/2013 07:10

WillieWaggledagger · 13/08/2013 07:54

bravo mouse Thanks

HurricaneWyn · 13/08/2013 08:59

Great news Mouse Grin

MrsHerculePoirot · 13/08/2013 09:09

Well done mouse!

lewis if you mix full fat cream cheese and yoghurt (twice as much cream cheese to yoghurt eg 100g to 50g) and then add in cucumber and mint that would be bootcamp friendly. I use that base for loads of dips (garlic, chime and lemon or smoked salmon and dill).

NigellasGuest · 13/08/2013 09:52

an enormous well done to Mouse - that is so inspirational to read! Fantastic!

RedRabbit - try having a couple of bottles dotted around the house (or office or whereever you are, in the car etc) and just sip, sip, sip away every time you see a bottle. Works better than thinking "i've got to drink this glass of water now"!

WillieWaggledagger · 13/08/2013 09:54

i do the same mrshp with cream cheese + yoghurt + blue cheese for a dip that is amazing with celery. i'll have to try your variations!

MrsHerculePoirot · 13/08/2013 10:23

Chime is chives obvs!

IBO · 13/08/2013 10:27

MOUSE you are a star of the week! Well done you!!! Flowers

And thanks Lily

I am not feeling enthusiastic about this WOE anymore.. The weight stalled and I am missing my fruits.. I find myself craving for things I didn?t even like before like milk and milk chocolate.. I also have bad migraine. I am not sure of I should blame cheese or maybe my period..? And it is too much meet for me.. not enough veg. i had pork belly for dinner last night. Without fennel as I didn't find it anywhere but the fat made me feel almost sick.. Maybe I should stop eating meet and go for fish instead?

Anyway I am feeling pretty low today. Thanks Mouse for your optimistic post.. it lifted me up tbh :)

IBO · 13/08/2013 10:30

LEWIS I LOOOVE tzatziki.. It is not bad if you have it once in a while.. I add a tiny bit of garlic as well just to make it taste even better :)

BeenieBaby · 13/08/2013 12:46

IBO don't give up! Maybe don't weigh yourself for a couple o weeks and just concentrate on eating well? I tend to have a small portion of fruit once or twice a week, usually berries, but occasionally apples and yesterday grapes if d don't finish their portion. Also we had gone out over the weekend and I had a serving of ice cream dished out to me and it would have been rude to refuse (it was yummy though!). I think the point I'm tryin to make is that this woe is a earthy approach to eating. There's no processed food and no carbs from grain. Maybe aim to stick to it for 95% of the time and whenever you need a break, have a small break! At least that's the approach that works best for me.
And mouse well done!

BeenieBaby · 13/08/2013 12:47

Sigh stupid phone. Healthy approach is what it should say, not earthy.

NigellasGuest · 13/08/2013 13:34

IBO - don't give up.
Are you drinking the water?

IBO · 13/08/2013 13:58

BEENIE thank you. I think I will stick to your advice not to weight myself and consentrate more on woe rather than weight loss..

NIGELLA - I am drinking loads..

Mouseface · 13/08/2013 15:56

Afternoon Campers Grin

Thank you for all of the lovely responses. :) Thanks

IBO - I was a bit obsessed at the start, weighing every day and then every other day, then I decided to stop as I wasn't seeing anything..... so far I've lost 6lbs. BUT I look different, my appearance is slimmer, I feel like I've lost inches, not just the weight, I've stopped losing but I'm now weighing each week, so yesterday I was still 10st. I'm due on hols on Fri so won't weigh in for more than 2 weeks.

As I said, I'm going to carry on and do Bootcamp, so I'm hoping that when I get home, I'll weigh then and see a loss but if not, as long as I don't put on weight, I'll be happy maintaining 10st as that's a really healthy BMI for me :)

I think when you don't see a loss, you get closer to giving up or giving into temptation but if you've been through the carb flu bit and deciding to do this once, why put yourself through it again? You know that you can do it lovely IBO, you just need to take the pressure off and take it back to basics, do what feels right, eat what worked when you first started to lose and maybe take it a day at a time? See how you feel when you wake, just make sure you've got the basics to in to eat.

As long as you stick to the rules, you can mix any combo into your day and of course lots of aqua!! Grin Also, here - have a huge ((((HUG)))) from me because feeling deflated really does take the shine of the whole thing but you'll get there, because you WANT to xxx

TheRedRabbit · 13/08/2013 16:00

I have managed nearly 2 litres water today already so hopefully that will help start me losing again. I am also going to try to remember to post my daily food here so that all you old hands can tell me if I'm doing something wrong!

Today is:

B: 2 scrambled eggs with butter. Decaf coffee with cream
L: Chicken caesar salad with parmesan and I added some roasted salted almonds too. Used Sainsburys caesar dressing which I know isn't ideal but is around 5g/100g carbs so not too bad. Decaf coffee with cream.
D: beef goulash done in the slow cooker and sour cream. Think we will have it with fried courgette ribbons and give the kids rice.Probably another decaf coffee with cream.

Does that sound ok?

I have two questions: is there a reason that people eat babybel or is it just because they're easy to carry around? I love cheese but not so keen on babybel...and what mayonnaise should I be using? I have squeezy stuff in the fridge but it has at least 6g carbs.

colette · 13/08/2013 16:07

wow mouseface- impressed at staying on track, great advice too

IBO · 13/08/2013 16:15

Mouse and Nigella thank you.. I will listen to your advises and will stop weighting myself and start from the beggining again.. one day at a time.. im sending you flowers for taking care of me x FlowersFlowersFlowers

IBO · 13/08/2013 16:17

Rabbit if you are doing bootcamp then almonds are not a good choise but if you are doing bootcamp light then everything looks good.

I think double cream has less carbs than soured cream. :)

BerylStreep · 13/08/2013 16:36

Hi all,

Cycling still going well, I did 36 miles yesterday. which is why i am unimpressed with the 1kg gain this morning

I also made crustless broccoli quiche which is great for lunches on the go. I can really recommend it.

Vinividivino · 13/08/2013 18:28

Hello everyone. Mouse well done, your story is really inspiring! Don't lose faith IBO, we all have days like that. Just think, a few days time, you may have a Mouse Moment! Keep going, you'll get there!

BIWI I made your Sri Lankan Aubergine curry tonight - OMG, it was soooooo good. (I scooped my finger around the bowl when no one was looking - the sauce was THAT good. I know, I'm not a classy bird!) Thank you very much for the recipe.

NigellasGuest · 13/08/2013 18:48

That's OK IBO Smile

RedRabbit Hellmans mayonnaise has really low carb count. There's another brand that BIWI recommends that has zero carbs though the Hellmans is so low it might not make much difference?

LilyAmaryllis · 13/08/2013 18:59

Beryl 36 miles! Wow.

Redrabbit I'm sure the babybel thing is just because they're easy to carry around. On mayonnaise - Hellmans is 3% ish I think and Delouis (spelling?) 0%?

Good luck IBO, hope you find a way to carry on. If you don't like so much meat, eat less (or do fish, eggs, cheese, etc). And eat more veg if that's what you want. I feel like I'm eating lots and lots of healthy veg and salad.

I'm feeling hungry again! Just had dinner of smoked mackerel, cauliflower/broccoli cheese and tomatoes. Shouldn't really be hungry! What's it all about?
