Morning all.

Spreadsheet, as ever

Although we're coming to the end of this particular Bootcamp, you'll see that @FinallyHere has added enough columns to the spreadsheet so that you can keep going, should you wish.

We'll also keep this thread going too, past the end of the week, for general low carb/Bootcamp chat and support - although I won't be starting a weigh-in thread each Monday after this one.

I know it's only been a short one this time, but looking at the spreadsheet, it looks like there have been some great results, even before today's weigh-in. Flowers

@prettybird well done

I had a delicious lunch of a pork chop and roasted veggies with mustard. So yummy cooked in the air fryer. I thought the chop might come out dry but it didn't it was perfect.

Not quite as Maillard reaction as in a pan but worth it nevertheless because not dry

Gunnersforthecup · 02/03/2025 10:45

As a cradle Catholic, I might try low carbing for Lent - it is Ash Wednesday next week.

Maybe I could think about eating more fish as well 😃

BIWI · 02/03/2025 12:09

I'm always concerned when there's talk of using air fryers, as I think it's a method of cooking that's designed to be low fat.

I was up quarter of a pound this morning (after our fry up and bottle of bubbly Wink) but at least I was still under 11.5st Grin

Currently in the Upper Deck lounge at Glasgow AirPort enjoying a glass of Chardonnay Smile

In an NSV, I could do my belt up to the second notch but I'm choosing to leave it on the first for comfort while travelling Wink Given that at the start of the year, I'd had to stop wearing this belt as it was tight Blush, I'm dead chuffed Grin

It's just a mini oven to me right now as my main oven is broken

CleanQueen123 · 02/03/2025 14:15

Well I got dumped and have totally fallen off the wagon. However, tomorrow is a new day so I'll KOKO!

BIWI · 02/03/2025 14:36

KittenPause · 02/03/2025 18:37

Oh no @CleanQueen123

I finally fixed my stupid oven after @BIWI comment re using my air fryer. So I'm happy with that push to finally change the heating element Grin

I can make aubergine parmigiana again yay and the DC can bake whatever nonsense they want

Great attitude , good for you 😀

CleanQueen123 · 02/03/2025 18:53

Thanks all. I was pretty ropey at the end of the week but I had a brisk walk this morning and a nap this afternoon, so ready to face the day tomorrow.

The universe is clearly telling me that 2025 needs to be the year I focus on myself.

The perfect combo - a brisk walk and a commitment to focus on yourself.

I've had a good holiday food-wise, managed to make good choices. Then this morning I stupidly ordered banana pancakes for breakfast. Why? Why? They were covered in icing sugar and maple syrup too. Horribly sweet. My only saving grace is that I ate less than half.

I think it was a failure to plan. Normally I'm thinking about whether I'll have eggs florentine, or smoked salmon and scrambled egg, or yoghurt and fruit from the buffet. Today I just grabbed menu and got tempted.

Will be better planned tomorrow (and this evening for dinner).

KittenPause · 03/03/2025 18:11

@venusandmars I mean you can indulge now and again we're only human after all

I had a few chewy sweets earlier on but apart from that I've done well

B FFGY
Late lunch pork and veg
Dinner not sure yet not hungry

I was diagnosed with CFS chronic fatigue syndrome today by a specialist I was seeing for a related symptom. To him it was glaringly obvious yet my GP has been less than useless this last year. Not sure how the diagnosis will help me move forward but it helps just knowing

CleanQueen123 · 03/03/2025 18:39

I'm back on the wagon! Could've done with more water but at least I've got the food under control.

I'm meal planning for the month this evening which makes life easier.

Floralnomad · 04/03/2025 10:13

I’m not going to be around much now thanks to the ad blocker issue as I’m not disabling mine and I don’t trust HQ , with their track record to give them money , so thanks again for all the help and good luck everybody .

Almahart · 04/03/2025 12:42

Sorry to hear that @KittenPause , I still have fatigue from long covid, even though it is nowhere near what it was. FWIW this diet makes quite a difference to my energy levels, I hope it is the same for you.

Sorry to see you go @Floralnomad

KittenPause · 04/03/2025 22:18

Yes I think this definitely helps @Almahart otherwise I'd be the size of a house by now

I don't get ads on the iPhone app that interfere with my use so it doesn't bother me yet. Is it different on a laptop then or with android? So I don't really get what the problem is.

BIWI · 04/03/2025 22:34

I'm hopefully not far behind you @CleanQueen123. I've been in France where the temptations have been too numerous but I Will back home on Friday. So at least the bread and croissants won't be calling me. It's my Birthday on Monday but getting back on to LCBC would be a good present to myself so next week, definitely new start.

CleanQueen123 · 05/03/2025 18:04

Trying my best not to stress/comfort eat over here. It's assignment week for my MSc which runs the risk of any sensible food planning going out the window but I'm KOKO.

Need to weigh myself tomorrow so 🤞🏼 it's going in the right direction.

Goodiewhemper · 06/03/2025 05:42

@CleanQueen123 I am sorry to hear your news and I hope you are doing ok 💐

It was my birthday last weekend and I completely overindulged so I have been following strict BC rules the past few days to get myself back on track.

I asked DH to pick up some mince yesterday to make cottage pie for the family. He bought 50% beef and 50% pork mince which I had never used before. I made the pie the usual way for the family but before adding carrots I separated out my portion and added it to some sauteed mushrooms and topped it with a celeriac mash. It was delicious low carb twist on the classic and definitely one for again.

While the oven was on I made some cloud bread as I am on the road for work today and on such days it is much easier to bring a sandwich. Today's will be smoked salmon and cream cheese with my roasted veg soup in a flask. Breakfast will be usual avocado, cucumber and spinach shake with an egg. Dinner tonight is chicken thighs cooked in a spiced ffgy marinade.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Almahart · 06/03/2025 08:12

Yay a scales victory for me.

Finally back to under 12 stone at 11'8". My usual range for years has been 11 - 11'5" ish, but I had hit 13 stone.

I'm delighted as I'm not far off being able to wear some of my favourite clothes again.

@Goodiewhemper cloud bread is a good idea for sandwiches, I'd forgotten about that. I find it really hard to find things to eat when not at home. I had an expensive and not nice pret chicken salad yesterday, or sometimes I just eat cheese. Not great.

Almahart · 06/03/2025 08:43

Also, I just want to say again, because it is so amazing, that since being back on BC about ten days ago, my long covid fatigue is transformed. I get tired still, but I don't feel as if I am living in a constant state of fug

prettybird · 06/03/2025 08:56

That's brilliant @Almahart - not just the Scales Victory but especially the NSV re the mitigated fatigue Flowers

My NSV is this picture taken on Dalgety Beach (Beaumaris) yesterday by dh. It makes it look like I have I have a flat stomach Grin he says it's 'cos he's a good photographer Wink

EDIT: he says it's because he is a good photographer Grin
