Many apologies for the late start this week. We have family here, and I've spent this morning fixing Lego, watching CBeebies and making toast, coffee, coffee, tea and more coffee!

Anyway, here as ever, is the Spreadsheet

Hope everyone had a good week, and here's looking forward to a good week 5 - hopefully we're now out of the doldrums of weeks 3 & 4!

Hi @BIWI thanks for the new thread ✨️

ditavonteesed · 22/08/2022 10:30

Morning, half off for me which I am over the moon with as I did not have a good week. Also means I'm only half a pound off the next half stone bracket which feels like a milestone.

Dd finally got her other grade this morning and it was a good one so still celebrating round here.

Baystard · 22/08/2022 10:40

Thanks @BIWI

I've put on 1lb this week but I'm sure it's the week when I start to retain water so I'm philosophical about it. I'm predicting another week of slight gain or at best STS then it'll all drop off seemingly overnight.

Read a sample of the Dopamine Diet book last night, thinking about buying a hard copy and leaving it where DH might have a browse. He's a sugar+sweetener addict with worrying amounts of abdominal fat but also point blank refuses to discuss his diet. He does like Tom Kerridge though. At worst I'll have a nice new recipe book...

Lucienandjean · 22/08/2022 10:51

Just 0.7lbs down this week, but I'm ok with that as I had an amazing meal out at a friend's house yesterday. I managed a low carb-ish first course by just not serving myself any potatoes, but then she gave me a big slice of homemade cheesecake 😳. Anyway, I ate it, and decided I might as well enjoy it!

I thought I might have blown all this week's losses, but not quite! Back on the wagon today.

prettybird · 22/08/2022 11:52

Going to wait until tomorrow before weighing in Blush - didn't drink nearly enough water yesterday and it always has a negative (or should that be positive? Confused) effect.

So I'm having a black coffee just now and will then have a load of water Grin

sushinelove · 22/08/2022 13:04

2lb more gone this week, lot more to go so taking nothing for granted.

NSV though is 2 inches off my waist which I'm more delighted about

ditavonteesed · 22/08/2022 13:32

@sushinelove that is an amazing nsv.

FinallyHere · 22/08/2022 14:49

Continuing the Lego theme, we are just home from an extended family weekend at Legoland in Windsor.

Managed to avoid eating any carbs, or even any alcohol 😇

Surprisingly delicious Eggs Benedict with ham and swapped the muffin for spinach each morning. Steak and salad with Kale & Shallots swapped for the potato element. All the water.

All the steps, too, but I clean forgot to wear my Fitbit (or even remember where it is, which may be the universe reminding me to incorporate a bit more movement into my daily routines.

Bananajam · 22/08/2022 15:41

I've gone up a very tiny amount but my weight does fluctuate around 3kg over the week it seems! I've never weighed myself so much so it's interesting to me to see how it changes. I reached my lowest weight since starting the WOE this week so I'm feeling very pleased even if I've gone up again since!

KOKO

Chocasaurus · 22/08/2022 16:34

Thanks @BIWI for the new thread.

Great NSV @sushinelove nelove and really glad to hear your DD got her final result @ditavonteesed and it was another good one 👍

2lb off for me this week which I'm pleasantly surprised about, and it takes me down another number on the BMI scale - in the 28s now. Main NSV is that I've managed to keep away from the chocolate during TOTM. I've had a funny week really, have been feeling completely indifferent towards food. I'm still getting hungry but don't seem to be taking much pleasure in what I'm eating or looking forward to meals like I used to and just feels like I am going theough the motions. Maybe its sugar lessening its hold on me? Anyway, I shall KOKO. 😌

5thWisdom · 22/08/2022 17:14

Good afternoon. I can't believe we're 5 weeks in.

Loss of 2lb this week after 2 weeks of plateau, period and then gain - and spreadsheet showing now a total loss of 6lb since starting. Delighted at this, still very much committed and can't believe I now don't think of having sugar in my coffee! Clothes feel much comfier now on me.

Starting to slip my water intake - weekends are always harder - so gulping away.

Great to read everyone's updates. Keep on track everyone!

5thWisdom · 22/08/2022 17:19

@Chocasaurus can totally relate to the food interest thing. I just don't get the same hunger pangs, much more a take it or leave it feeling.

The very thought of bread, pastries etc makes my stomach bloat - and I think there is a feeling of having got this far, I would be really annoyed with myself if I did fall off wagon, so to speak. I know that this approach doesn't allow room for heavy carbs here and there so am quite black and white about it. They're just not options for me.

ChimneyPot · 22/08/2022 19:33

I am up 1.25lbs which I am guessing is due to all the sauces on MILs and DMs cooking over the last few days.
Back home now and more in control of the menu but away again on a trip to Bath with girl friends later in the week so will be dodging afternoon teas!

User1563 · 22/08/2022 20:09

Hi everyone 👋🏻 Is it possible to join now?

Chocasaurus · 22/08/2022 20:30

@5thWisdom so odd isn't it, I was given a box of chocolates and have no interest in opening it - whilst I know objectively I will enjoy them, but I don't want them iyswim. Also slightly worried they will be a gateway back to my previous woe/relationship with sugar. I still have the occasional pang of longing for a hot, buttery, toasted cinnamon and rasin bagel though, so a way to go yet 😋

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 22/08/2022 20:38

Evening, just checking in. I'm KOKO-ing although I feel like I'm just treading water at the minute, not really getting anywhere.... I want to be skinny now please.

comfortablyfrumpy · 22/08/2022 21:03

Hi Everyone.
I've STS this week but happy with that. I am sure I'll get another drop in the next couple of weeks. Clothes feel increasingly looser so I know it's working 😀

LC bread success yesterday. Managed to bake a loaf that was really bread like in texture - lovely and light - and tastes pretty much like a good nutty loaf. I found the secret was to make sure the dough wasn't too stiff, and to bake it longer than the instruction.

I've now discovered loads of LC baking recipes I want to try out - it's a whole new world out there. I absolutely love baking and it's been slightly torturous to be baking my usual stuff for everyone else and not being able to have any. Now I can indulge!

I am now firmly in the habit of Hi 5 Zero tabs - and seem to be getting leg cramps less, so that's been another very useful tip courtesy of Bootcamp.

KOKO everyone :)

bandbsmummy · 22/08/2022 21:13

Ooh my period has just started a few days early. Perhaps PIL aren't completely to blame for my STS!

FinallyHere · 22/08/2022 21:28

Welcome @User1563 You are welcome to join anytime.

Have you found the link to 'the' spreadsheet, it's in the first post on this and most other threads here in the bootcamp topic.

Hope you find it useful.

User1563 · 22/08/2022 23:11

Will have a look thank you . I have done it a few years ago. Will have a look at the spreadsheet thank you.

PennyPinkPineapple · 23/08/2022 06:42

Sounds annoying.

Are you drinking enough water? Eating enough veg?

I have found that bloating etc have drastically reduced for me since going LC. Not sure why.

CleanQueen123 · 23/08/2022 08:14

Still no loss. Second week in a row which is frustrating but KOKO and all that.

loopylu26 · 23/08/2022 09:22

2lbs off for me, I had a 1.5lb gain last week so I see it as a 1/2lb loss.

9.7lbs overall without being hungry. Amazing, especially as had guests staying for a week so not completely on plan and then anniversary dinner out on Saturday night. 100% committed for rest of bootcamp.

I bought some Seriously Low Carb bread and rolls, very impressed, especially the rolls. Great standby when everyone was having bacon rolls or a packed lunch.

ChimneyPot · 23/08/2022 11:30

Yesterdays weight gain has disappeared thankfully and now a small loss but will put the gain on the spreadsheet.
yesterday food
B- yoghurt and cream
L- spinach and eggs with butter and cream
D- roast chicken, cabbage and cauliflower cheese
Snack 2 rollitos and a LC scone
water 3l plus

Todays plan
B- LC bagel with cream cheese
L- tuna mayo lettuce wraps
D- duck with green veg

l am eating a bit of LC home baking because I think I needed the psyllium husk in it after not nearly enough veg at DMs and MILs!
