However @BIWI I have a question, I know I won't do low carb forever so are there different levels of low carb as I've read that anything below 130g is technically low carb but not low low.
Also, I'm breastfeeding, do I need to do anything different?

Thank you

Thank you @BIWI et al, I've been happyily in really quite strict Bootcamp since Jan22. If I dropped on average a pound a week, I'd see target March 23. Mostly using jeans to track shrinking sizes, I have the same pair in 8, 12, 16, already thrown out the 18 & 20s. I've been weighing myself monthly just to have a record.

@GalactatingGoddess

We don't count carbs on Bootcamp - they will be kept sufficiently low if you follow the rules.

There's not really one set definition of 'low' carb, but personally I'd say that 130g per day really isn't that low.

The induction phase of Atkins, and the keto diet (I believe) are no more than 20g carbs per day, so you can see the disparity there!

The other complication with carbs is there's no one figure that we can give to say 'if you eat no more than xg carbs per day you will lose weight/not gain weight' as everyone has different tolerances to carbohydrate. So the advice is (when you've reached your target weight) to gradually up your carbs until you reach a point where you start to gain again.

If you're breastfeeding, we generally recommend that you follow Bootcamp Light rather than 'full-on' Bootcamp - which means you can include nuts/seeds and some fruit in your diet.

@flightofthesevenmillionbumblebees yes, it's entirely possible! You don't have to have milk/cream/yoghurt/cheese - plenty of other ways to get fat into your diet.

Ah yes, @FrenchBoule - if weight loss was just about food none of us would have gained! The emotional side of life is much to blame, I fear.

I should do this. I need to do this. I was on steroids last year and have ballooned (all off and healthy now). I am scared though as I bloody love carbs, I'm not good at being organised and generally fail at diets 😂

TorviShieldMaiden · 07/07/2022 14:59

Wait, does wine have carbs? 😂

Thanks @BIWI you’re warm and welcoming as usual 🙂 how the heck do you manage to do this bootcamps and keep at the top I haven’t got a clue.
Currently on holidays with family, have stuff going on worthy Stately Homes, dealing with 2 cases of disability in the house-DH physical and progressive,DS2 autism.
A good friend of mine that I mentioned earlier on in the year has died. It hit me really hard.
Hamster wheel of life is constantly turning and I just want a break sometimes (impossible) so compensate by eating too much crap 🙁
Really need to push back and find a way of coping without falling into bad habits whatever they are

BIWI · 07/07/2022 18:11

Sorry to hear that @FrenchBoule Sad Flowers

It's about time I got back on the wagon. Unfortunately my yo-yoing doesn't seem to go down anymore, only up Blush

SaSamhradh · 07/07/2022 19:23

I'll be just back from holidays at the start of this BC, so a reset might be needed. I struggle to do BC in school holidays, but I'll try. Once I get going on LCHF I can feel well.
I'm just finished last BC - which I enjoyed, but bloody hell, I'm just finished a packet of crisps now. And a tub of ice 🍦last night. 😊
