Week 8 - May Low Carb Bootcamp - the last week!

Morning all Flowers

So we come to the last week. It's funny how 8 weeks can seem such a long time as well as being over so quickly!

Some evident transgressions because of Father's Day or, as I prefer to call it, life. One of the difficult things about successful weight loss is that you have to work at it to keep at it - as @ditavonteesed talks about on the last thread.

Anyway, we have one more week - still time to shed a pesky pound or too.

Good luck everyone.

I hope, very much, that it isn't Covid ditavonteesed - and that you're feeling better very soon.

(Oh, and just to say I won't be around very much this week as DH and I are off to Porto for a few days. A much delayed Christmas present.)

.... and have a lovely time, @BIWI . Thank you for your gentle guidance and wise words x

IveNeverTriedThisBefore · 20/06/2022 20:31

@SummerSazz well done - 25lbs since Jan is amazing. You should be so proud

Today was:
IF till lunch
Rolittos, salad and my homemade mayo for lunch
Frittata with goats cheese and tomatoes for dins, more mayo and shoogled broccoli
Drank 4L water and having a sq of 99% choc now with black tea, although I shouldn't be as I'm stuffed

SummerSazz · 20/06/2022 20:41

Thank you @IveNeverTriedThisBefore Smile

Bananajam · 20/06/2022 20:54

Thanks everyone for the chat, support and encouragement over the last couple of months. I am lighter than I've been in years and despite the scales sticking over the last two weeks, my clothes are loose and I'm fitting in to clothes that i have stored waiting for that magic day where they looked decent and didn't have a muffin top or buttons that didn't do up or gape!

Thanks @BIWI , have a lovely holiday and enjoy the break.

I will be KOKO, I still have a bit to lose but I shall be booking my healthcheck with my GP surgery knowing that I won't be embarrassed when I get on the scales!

Lougle · 20/06/2022 21:05

Yes, huge thanks @BIWI

But we've got one more weigh in, haven't we? This week counts too 🤣

B - Greek yoghurt, blueberries, raspberries
L - iceberg lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, olives, sunflower oil, goats cheese
D - celery, pepper, leek, mushroom, tomatoes, all fried, with ½ ribeye steak.

Fluids: 4l water so far (probably 750ml between now and bed). 2 cups of tea.

pinknsparkly · 20/06/2022 21:26

Happy holidays @BIWI! Hope you enjoy your very well deserved break.

I've had a bit of an emotional rollercoaster weekend... After a year of trying for baby number two, I finally got a positive pregnancy result on Thursday (quite a surprise as it took me two years to get pregnant first time round!). I kept it quiet until fathers day as a surprise for my husband, then woke up feeling very off this morning to get a negative result on another test and my period started this evening. So my STS this week is fine by me! As a side note, this bootcamp has reversed my pre-diabetes but my gestational diabetes came back as soon as I got the positive pregnancy test. I was quite surprised it came back so early!

APerfectlyGoodName · 20/06/2022 21:52

Thank you @BIWI yes, it works.

@pinknsparkly I'm sorry to hear that. I've been on the TTC and IVF pathways. That loss hurts. I think the advice is to KO trying. Achieving a positive pregnancy is good.K

I'm with you @Lougle there's another week, so I'm hanging in.

BIWI · 20/06/2022 22:24

Yes @Lougle we do still have the rest of this week!

@pinknsparkly very sorry to hear about your news. Shocking, too, that the diabetes should come back so quickly Shock

Have a lovely holiday @BIWI , very well deserved I say!

I lost 11lbs this week!! Halo

Many thanks to a fantastic egg fast!

But back to real food, mmmmm steak and vegetables!

It's useful to know that the egg fast is manageable and successful though so I can try to do one a month as I do have so much to lose.

ZiggZagg · 20/06/2022 22:55

Sorry to hear your news @pinknsparkly Sad

Take care of yourself Flowers

SummerSazz · 20/06/2022 23:10

Enjoy Porto BIWI! And thanks from me too for keeping the boot camps live and accessible

@pinknsparkly so so sorry to hear your news. What shitty timing after having told your DH on Father's Day too. Y'all take care of yourself

Wow @ZiggZagg, that's an amazing loss!! I've never tried an egg fast but do like eggs so may give this a go after the weekend as a quick 'shake me up'

Lougle · 21/06/2022 06:15

Oh @pinknsparkly I'm so sorry, that's a real blow. Take care of yourself ❤️

@ZiggZagg 11lbs is incredible!

comfortablyfrumpy · 21/06/2022 07:25

I'm so sorry @pinknsparkly xx

Mercedesbenz2022 · 21/06/2022 09:05

@pinknsparkly , so sorry to hear that x

APerfectlyGoodName · 21/06/2022 09:43

So I weighed and I'm down 1.2lbs. That's 9.1lb for this BC, so I'm hoping another lb this week. A 10lb loss over 8 weeks is great for me. My previous BC loss stayed off until Covid (general anxiety around CV19, I never actually caught it - even though DH & DC had it at one stage).
Onwards!

BIWI · 21/06/2022 09:56

Thanks for all the thanks Grin

I will (sometimes) be watching from afar, and I'll be back at the weekend, so will still be around a little.

@ZiggZagg that is an amazing loss! Hopefully that's kicked off a good downward trajectory for you now.

OP posts:
BIWI · 21/06/2022 10:12

... although just to add @ZiggZagg, I notice from the spreadsheet that you had a period of weeks where your weight was going up, and the egg fast has corrected this for you, as well as resulted in an overall loss.

While I'm very glad you've had this result, it's a bit extreme to have to rely on something like the egg fast to get a loss. What happened in the interim weeks?

(Sorry if you've posted about this - I did try a search to see if you had, but the search function is so useless on the new platform that I gave up.)

IveNeverTriedThisBefore · 21/06/2022 10:26

Oh gosh @pinknsparkly I am so sorry for your loss. Please take care of yourself 💐

Wow @ZiggZagg 11lbs is amazing. I am now interested in an egg fast... I assume it just means eating eggs for every meal. How long did you do it for?

ditavonteesed · 21/06/2022 11:22

@pinknsparkly I'm so sorry

@BIWI as always thanks and have a fabulous holiday

StuntNun · 21/06/2022 11:41

@ZiggZagg are you still doing extended fasting? You might get better results from that than from the egg fast as I'm not sure that 11 lb will be repeatable. It's more usual to lose 3-4 lb.

GalactatingGoddess · 21/06/2022 12:49

@BIWI will you be doing another low carb boot camp?

BIWI · 21/06/2022 13:59

@GalactatingGoddess yes probably - thinking of starting it on 25 July if you're up for that?

OP posts:
GalactatingGoddess · 21/06/2022 14:54

@BIWI absolutely Yes I will be. However I go on holiday that week so I may not be low carb as in 50g but will probably try to stick to 100-150 as medium carb.

ZiggZagg · 21/06/2022 15:07

Hi yes I still IF haven't done an extended one for a while @StuntNun, will be looking to get back to a level where I feel this is achievable.

@BIWI just couldn't get into the mindset of LC so it has reset my brain if you see what I mean? I feel great and more focused so feel better about eating LCHF and more determined to stick to it.

Mercedesbenz2022 · 21/06/2022 17:12

@BIWI
have a lovely holiday , enjoy and thanks for all your wise words and patience with us lot
