Sorry for the late start.

Here's the spreadsheet for you to confess all!

A quick peek shows some really good early results, with @UnOeufIsEnough and @loopylou3030 both hitting the half stone mark. Brilliant! Flowers

@bibliomania that sounds delicious! Do you think it would work if I whisked the eggs in with the cream? I’ve got a bit of a thing about egg whites, but love omelettes/ scrambled eggs

Todays food:
L- couple of baby bels and some ham from the service station, literally no greens to be had
D - Steak cooked in butter, courgettes, asparagus and home grown rocket in an oily dressing

Love and good wishes to all those with lots of stressful things going on (and to the DCs as well).
Also going back a few pages, loved the horse nurse! 😆

RagzRebooted · 11/05/2022 17:40

Back from my training day. I manged to resist the mini pastries on arrival, the lovely looking cookies at morning break (ate my pot of Greek yoghurt instead), the posh crisps and fruit at lunch and the cake at afternoon break Halo For a healthcare professionals study day, there was a shocking amount of sugary snacks!

I deconstructed some sandwiches and wraps (yes, I got a lot of strange looks but I don't care) and made myself a lovely SLC roll with coronation chicken (picked out the many sultanas), cheese and pastrami and some roasted vegetables. Lots of black coffee. Lots of water. Feeling very virtuous as free food is one of my triggers for overeating.

DH has made curry for dinner, I may have it with cabbage if I can be bothered, but my back's bad after a day of sitting in a chair and I've just taken codeine, so if I don't manage any veg today then I will make up for it later in the week.

glamourousindierockandroll · 11/05/2022 18:02

Still on plan. Had a petrol station stop today and bought some pork scratchings - petrol stations tend to be a problem for me as I have a long, boring commute, and combined with the privacy of the car, sweets and crisps, sometimes even sandwiches would be an impulse buy.

Really wanted to up the fat though. I'm not having the first week whoosh I was hoping for and while my resolve feels strong I want a result! I'm hovering at the 14st/13st boundary and really want to be solidly below by the end of this bootcamp. 13st 7 would be a good milestone.

Have also gone back to exercising; mainly spinning, and trying to tell myself that they might be leading to me not losing as much as i'd hoped due to muscle soreness.

bibliomania · 11/05/2022 18:03

I reckon that would work,@Frenchpoodle

UnOeufIsEnough · 11/05/2022 18:09

@bibliomania that sounds amazing! Must try that some time this week.

@glamourousindierockandroll well done on the focus! Travelling around makes it hard to plan.

B: scrambled eggs and mushrooms
L: leftover chorizo, aubergine and red pepper stew
D: salmon with courgette and leeks cooked in butter

Having a hungry day today so had a couple of boiled eggs as a snack about 4pm. It's a danger time for me that has, in the past, seen me fall face first into crisps so pleased I made a better choice!

SageCardy · 11/05/2022 18:09

Evening all, just checking in for today:

B - Greek yogurt and cream
L - Scrambled eggs with mushrooms, tomatoes and spinach
D - Chicken and Broccoli baked in a soft cheese, garlic and cream sauce, topped with cheddar and a portion of green beans

Lucienandjean · 11/05/2022 18:26

Today's food:
B: boiled egg, creamy coffee
L: homemade tuna pate made with cream cheese, salad leaves, pepper and cucumber strips, slice of cheese
D: pork steak cooked in butter, asparagus, mashed swede, tomato

UnOeufIsEnough · 11/05/2022 18:34

@SageCardy I like the sound of the chicken and broccoli bake!

Ollieharriet · 11/05/2022 19:06

Boiled egg and bacon for breakfast. Tuna salad for lunch ( for second day in a row) and don't know what I fancy for dinner but definitely not more salad 😁.

IveNeverTriedThisBefore · 11/05/2022 19:34

Just checking in..

B: coffee & cream
L: same omelette as yday- eggs, cream, butter, spinach & asparagus
D: chicken fajitas - chicken thigh fried in olive oil, sour cream, avocado, tomatoes, coriander, cheddar & lettuce.... was yum!

Working my way through water, will have 3L drank by end of today & 2 big cups of green tea

Hi there - I just have a quick question..
I have freeze-dried miso soup .. I am just looking at ingredients
It says 1.9g of carbs per sachet and contains some barley flour... best to stay away?
I used to like it instead of herbal tea to get fluid levels up?

I'd suggest best stay away. Probably quite high in carbs per 100g, highly processed and includes flour. Definitely not in BIWis rules!

Rayna37 · 11/05/2022 19:46

Funny day, early start, same mid morning breakfast and same lunch as yesterday but I was really hungry and ate lunch before 12! Made a slow-cooked ratatouille which I had with 1/2 pack halloumi for dinner which was delicious.

DH is away so once I've done the pots (his job!) I'm off to bed to watch TV and hopefully finish my book.

Mercedesbenz2022 · 11/05/2022 20:03

I think my balance was off today because I was peckish at 4pm. I held off but realised lunch was a bit meagre.

B - left over cheesy Bolognese bake.
L - tomatoes, ½ avocado, olives.
D - steak, roasted veg (veg oil), creamy peppercorn sauce (double cream).

Fluid: 4 x 750 ml water. 5 X cups of tea with almond milk, 1 with full fat milk.

APerfectlyGoodName · 11/05/2022 22:41

I'm loving the food posts. I was a bit uninspired too. I went to exercise class this morning and errands after (I'm sitting here still in my ym gear.Hmm) Bit lazy about cooking but I did do a shop this morning.
B. Creamy coffee, greek yogurt with cream - that was a first & it is fab!!
L. Omelette as usual, over salad.
S. LC roll with soup.
D. I cooked some salmon but it was very meh so I had a protein bar instead.
I know it's not in the rules. Dogs will be delighted though.
Just finished my 3rd L of water

prettybird · 11/05/2022 23:10

The "upgrade" Hmm of the MN iOS app means that posts are appearing without paragraphs, which makes reading them very difficult Hmm Also, when a post includes a quote, the whole response is indented (along with the quote) - with no paragraphs - and the end of the post is frequently truncated Hmm

Anyway (and BTW - I did put in a double return there, but it will only be visible on desktop version and the mobile version? ), I came on to ask for advice as to which magnesium lotions are good. There such a big choice on Amazon Shock

heliosfountain · 11/05/2022 23:10

As I am currently car-less, I have done lots of walking today! I walked to to school then to tyre place then to supermarket then to home! About 2.5miles, which is a lot for me. I also then went for a short beach walk with my best friend this evening!

Today, I decided to have my main meal at lunchtime, after a 19 hour fast. So I had steak burgers with homemade salsa and melted mozzarella. For tea, I had avo on 1 slice of buttered low carb toast with more homemade salsa on top. 5l water again (1l with added electrolytes).

I would have had miso soup without thinking about it! And think I have done on previous bootcamps. Is it really not allowed?

I am so impressed @RagzRebooted, free food is my favourite thing ever. My job, like yours probably, doesn't have a lot of perks, so I do like a training course! I loved the story of your day!

heliosfountain · 11/05/2022 23:11

Yes mobile site is OK for paragraphs and quoting @prettybird! Is this an option for you? I just leave an MN window open.

prettybird · 11/05/2022 23:13

@heliosfountain - it would be an option, if I didn't hate it Wink

Lougle · 12/05/2022 07:11

I've never had miso soup.

Well I'm happy today because my waist circumference is down 2 inches. Couldn't be bothered to measure the rest of me but I've noticed favourite jumpers clinging less on my arms, too.

Apart from cinnamon, which no right-minded person should consume, has anyone got any suggestions for making Greek yoghurt more interesting? I used to have dried fruit and seeds in it but they're out. Could just do with a bit of texture or variation in taste.

bibliomania · 12/05/2022 07:17

I like a sprinkle of cardamom and a drop of rosewater in my yoghurt, lougle.

RagzRebooted · 12/05/2022 07:57

@prettybird the one I recommended a few pages ago, it's made by Better You and available on Amazon. I have the spray and the lotion.

Made roasted Mediterranean veg with feta for lunches last night. Looks good!

Jollyholibobs · 12/05/2022 08:06

I’d like to join. I started on Tuesday but it’s taken until today to catch up on the thread. I have done bootcamp before but have completely fallen off the wagon over the last 12 months after some health issues. I have a few lovely social events coming up and my clothes don’t fit. Have gained over 2st in the last 12 months and feel pretty bad about it. Time to do something about it.
Will add myself to the spreadsheet later.

I have loved reading all the meal ideas and am looking forward to feeling better which I know will happen once I‘m in the zone.

Rshard · 12/05/2022 08:43

I like vanilla powder @Lougle . It’s quite expensive but a teeny bit goes a long way. I think I got my last pot from Waitrose?
