Sorry for the late start.

Here's the spreadsheet for you to confess all!

A quick peek shows some really good early results, with @UnOeufIsEnough and @loopylou3030 both hitting the half stone mark. Brilliant! Flowers

Feeling a bit better, thank you for everyone's good wishes!
B: yoghurt
L: Horrible concoction of tempeh, boiled eggs, avocado, beetroot, and cheese. Finally the tempeh is finished though, so never have to eat it again, woohoo!
T: miso mushrooms with butter, edamame, boiled eggs, fried cabbage.

I've been bad on the water the last two days; about 2.5l both, so lacking a full litre. Just because of busyness, I love water normally. And I can feel it, both in my head and thirst but also on the scale- am currently up on Mondays weigh in weight considerably. So today I will slosh when I move by the end of the day!

heliosfountain · 11/05/2022 05:55

I had a car breakdown yesterday, which meant I didn't have my main meal. After I got home after waiting for the recovery vehicle with whining, tired & hungry kids and getting towed, I went straight to bed!

L: Greek yoghurt & double cream. Pack of proscuttio
S: slice of low carb bread & butter & cream cheese

5l water!! I'd had my 4l by the time we broke down early evening then some friendly firemen came out with bottled water! We broke down just outside a big fire station (& they also let us use the loo!)

@ditavonteesed, I can't find the Happy Scale app, is it Apple only (I'm android) or called something else please?

@boredsolicitor, I have Tom's dopamine book, it's ace and some recipes are definitely BC compliant!

ditavonteesed · 11/05/2022 06:59

@heliosfountain I don't know if it's just Apple sorry I hope not it's a really good app. Sorry about the breakdown sounds very stressful.
@Ulelia glad your doing better.
I hate cauliflower rice with a passion, the only acceptable way to serve cauliflower is with cheese.
I did well yesterday was starving due to period starting but everything on plan. Stress cleaned the entire house top to bottom, it doesn't really help the stress but I have a nice clean house at least.
Both dds are really poorly now as well as stressed. Worries they have run themselves down so much from constant stress and studying. Dd2 is possibly going to be granted study leave so she doesn't have to go back to school apart from exams as she is too stressed to even attend most of her lessons at the moment.
Also some twat hit my beautiful van on the road and didn't leave any details, I think probably after a football match as I live near football ground. Think it's only cosmetic damage but I'm a bit mad/upset about it.
Horse nurse is amazing.
Plan to get a good workout in today if my period pain would just go away.

Baystard · 11/05/2022 07:11

@latebloomingleo I've added you to the bottom of the spreadsheet. I don't trust it to sort properly without losing the weights so I'm just leaving latecomers at the bottom now.

@heliosfountain that sounds like a rotten way to spend an evening but I love that you could use the fire station loos and keep up the water!

I had a migraine yesterday evening so I have a hangover type headache this morning, plus a sore throat that i have picked up somewhere. Will drown it all with black coffee shortly.

Sad news here @prettybird I've finished my cauliflower and won't get another until the weekend 😟. On the plus side I get to start a new cabbage tonight 🤗

Today's plan

B- black coffee (lots!)
L- might skip or might do butter with LC toast, see how my head feels later.
D- spicy lamb burgers and salad (using thinly shredded sweetheart cabbage instead of lettuce), with grated cheese and soured cream.

Burgers are home made and other than spices and garlic are 100% lamb.

Lougle · 11/05/2022 07:31

@ditavonteesed how have you tried cauliflower rice? I've heard people say that they boil it but that sounds rank to me. I fry it in coconut oil or butter until it browns slightly and it's really nice (I think!)

I wish stress would motivate me to clean my house. I have plenty of stress but no clean house 😏Your poor van!

Completely understand about the stress on your DD's. DD2 (y10) hasn't been at school since Easter due to anxiety and they're looking for alternative provision. It's exhausting to deal with it all.

@Baystard sorry about the migraine. They suck. I'm on Ajovy injections for them now but still get a good whack of them each month.

TheOnlyMrsW · 11/05/2022 07:50

@ditavonteesed I really feel for you and your poor DD's, we're about to start GCSE's and I can't wait for study leave to start on Friday. DD has been so stressed out by certain subject teachers (others are lovely) that she's been having panic attacks in school and I know for a fact that as soon as she finishes they will stop 😢. I didn't realise that study leave wasn't universal but DD's school are making provision for her in the exams themselves too - she's in a quiet room instead of the big hall, and if she has to stop for a few minutes the clock stops til ready to start again...... is this something your DD's school could do?
Lougle hugs for you and your DD too.
Yesterday was bacon and scrambled eggs, soup for lunch and fish florentine with cauliflower mash on top, didn't look any different. Soup was nduja fried in butter then leftover celeriac, leeks and cauliflower leaves, homemade stock and whizzed up when cooked, v yum. Keeping to water and herbal teas, hoping to lose some this week.

latebloomingleo · 11/05/2022 07:55

Thanks for adding me @Baystard and I hope your head is better soon.

venusandmars · 11/05/2022 08:01

Currently in Amsterdam en route back from holiday. It is a terrible place for good food choices! Ah well, home tomorrow...

ditavonteesed · 11/05/2022 08:13

@TheOnlyMrsW that's sounds good, dds school have been awful throughout and she has only just started to get any support most of her school refusal years have been met with threats to prosecute me. They wouldn't allow any provisions for her to reduce schooling as she gets good grades which is all they care about. Study leave is not allowed they are supposed to be in lessons right till the very end. Honestly can't wait till it's all over. I'm on annual leave at the minute wishing I hadn't bothered as I'm just stressed and fed up. I think this year is just one we have to grit our teeth and survive.
Dd1 gets lots of lovely help, 50 percent extra time, a nice room on her own and someone to read stuff to her if she's too stressed to read. The difference between college and school is immense.

Sorry I'm unloading here aren't I?
On the plus side the house is looking good, and I'm not really hungry 😂

bella1426 · 11/05/2022 08:24

Morning all, thanks to the group suggestions I upped my magnesium supplements yesterday and after 3 nights of 4 hour sleeps I got the full 8 hours last night! I feel amazing! I guess because I normally take magnesium the regular dose on this WoE wasn't enough. I have done quite a bit of reading on the subject and there is indeed a correlation between LCHF and restless legs which is of course electrolyte related so I have ordered some high5 tabs too. Ideally I want all I require to come from diet and not overly rely on supplements so my new plan is to each day incorporate an avocado, bag of spinach and some oily fish into my day and from next week dark chocolate and almond butter (yum) to keep the magnesium and potassium high. I probably rely too much on dairy for my fats which for me is very easy to overeat from yumminess rather than true hunger so will be good to balance the fats consumption better.
A bit up on the scales this morning... when I'm tired I overeat and probably didn't get enough water into me so back on it today!
B- Greek yogurt and cream
L-cheeseburger salad - quarter pounder with melted cheese served on lettuce, cucumber, tomato and gherkin with mayo and mustard
D - salmon fillet with avocado and spinach salad with olive oil

BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation · 11/05/2022 08:34

Morning everyone 😊

I've lost three quarters of a pound. I'm really happy with that.

Breakfast: scrambled eggs, cream cheese and courgette
Lunch: cheese and salad and then greek yoghurt
Dinner: salmon fillet, aubergine, shallots, tomatoes, pepper and then greek yoghurt and cream.

Clothing is feeling a lot looser and walking up the stairs is easier too.

UnOeufIsEnough · 11/05/2022 08:43

Nice NSV today...I'm beginning to see my cheekbones reappear!

RagzRebooted · 11/05/2022 08:53

I am at the Amex stadium on a training day, it's so posh! I am resisting the free mini pastries and just enjoying the free coffee and the view. Lunch also provided but I've brought a buttered low carb roll so I'll be deconstructing sandwiches!

TheRealShedSadie · 11/05/2022 08:57

Scales have wobbled up three quarters of a pound this morning. Im not going to worry though as loss has been consistent up til now.

So KOKO!

TheOnlyMrsW · 11/05/2022 09:03

@ditavonteesed please vent away, it's so hard to keep it together IRL sometimes when all you want to do is rage at the world (or the bits which are causing issues!!!).
DD's school have actually been really good with her - they recognise that it's extra stress causing her to have the attacks and put plenty in place to help, except for actually addressing the teachers who are the root cause.
Not feeling breakfast at all today so carrying on with herbal tea for now

BIWI · 11/05/2022 09:19

Morning all. Sorry for all stresses and ills. Especially sorry to hear about your van @ditavonteesed Sad. It is, indeed, a thing of beauty.

We're off to Dorset for a couple of days, so I probably won't be around again till Friday.

But remember ...

... 👀

Always watching Wink

Morning all. I'm thrilled to report I have just broken the back of 80kg at 79.9 ;-). I have loads more to go as I'm not very tall but it's given me an extra push of motivation this morning, which is a very good thing as I have to tackle a team lunch at a pizzeria later! I've looked at the menu in advance and spied a cheesy salad that should work.

For those suffering carb flu, is sore muscles a symptom? My hips and legs feel very tight (normally on a touch my toes easily but the last few days it's felt like a mission). I wonder if it's middle age catching up with me or something to do with the early stages of this woe.

Rshard · 11/05/2022 09:54

💐 for all those that need it, and for the dd’s having stressful times. They always need us, albeit in different ways.

ditavonteesed · 11/05/2022 09:58

@UnOeufIsEnough congrats on the cheek bones, I remember the utter joy when my hip bones appeared, I love them now more than any other part of my body.
@RagzRebooted can't wait to here what lovely sandwich you manage to make.
@bella1426 be careful having too much spinach, I made that mistake quite early on and now I don't think I could ever eat it again in my life.
@BIWI Dorset how exciting, all our family holidays when the kids were little were Swanage, it has the warmest spot in my heart. Enjoy.
@mimosa1 yay on the 79.9kg such an amazing feeling.
I'm hunting for my inner positive pants, and if I don't find them I'm going to clean the cooker hood and the skirting boards.

BIWI · 11/05/2022 10:10

I can PM you my address if you need to do more cleaning @ditavonteesed?

Thinking about stress/illness/discomfort/pain etc

Can I just remind you of my (very long-winded) post yesterday?

bibliomania · 11/05/2022 10:14

Had great dinner last night, adapted from a recipe of Maya Angelou's here.

I fry mushrooms in butter and wilt down some spinach and garlic. Season and put in a baking dish with cream and nutmeg. Make two wells and crack an egg in each. Cover the top with cheese. Bake till golden. Complete comfort food.

StuntNun · 11/05/2022 10:49

@bella1426 it's great if you can get magnesium from your diet but bare in mind that it isn't always possible since soil is depleted of magnesium so there isn't as much in vegetables any more. I've been having to take a half dose of magnesium glycinate for years and every time I try to stop my symptoms return.

I did a 58-hour fast this week (I fast once a month for the health benefits) and broke my fast with a lovely feast of four scrambled eggs, a glass of kefir and a couple of sea bass fillets with green veg. I feel very full and satisfied now!

IveNeverTriedThisBefore · 11/05/2022 15:23

Hi there - I just have a quick question..
I have freeze-dried miso soup .. I am just looking at ingredients
It says 1.9g of carbs per sachet and contains some barley flour... best to stay away?
I used to like it instead of herbal tea to get fluid levels up?

bella1426 · 11/05/2022 17:28

@StuntNun & @ditavonteesed thanks for the advice!
