Here's a link to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness lovingly managed by @ouchmyfeet.

I've added a couple of names that I've spotted this evening, but they're at the bottom of the list not alphabetised - if your name isn't on the list, add yours at the bottom, and we'll re-alphabetise it once we get going.

Grin at geese omelette. DH is king of wierd and wonderful omelettes, I will suggest it!

Like @TakeItCheesy I am the heaviest I've ever been. I actually lost 50lbs doing this back in 2016/17 but several bereavements, new job, covid, DH's awful mental health and other minor and major disruptions have meant I put eating well and looking after myself on the back burner for far too long. I'm getting closer to 40 and don't want to get to that age being obese due to the health risks. Also, I'm a nurse and a lot of my job is health promotion, including weight management which seems hypocritical at the moment!

foxlover47 · 17/01/2022 13:45

@RagzReturnedUnwrapped let me
Know how it tastes Smile
Yes I will def make sure I eat enough i was rushing earlier so only had some cheese , I'm making hard boiled eggs ready for snacks ( chickens )

prettybird · 17/01/2022 13:54

@Andi2020 - I was 14st 13lb in May 2017 Shock - the heaviest I'd ever been (probably got over 16st but didn't weigh myself Blush) after a few problems with my marriage, depression and a lot of comfort eating Sad

I'd been on Boot Camp before that and had a lot of success (down to just under 11st and back into my Nicole Farhi dress for a formal event - I just deliberately dropped off the wagon and ran in the opposite direction Sad

All fine now Smile I now oscillate between low 11st and upper 12st but can get myself back in control Grin

My ultimate objective is to get back to a normal BMI - which for my height is 10st 9lb (top end) and then re-assess.

queenofcauliflower · 17/01/2022 13:56
@stayathomegardener I've added that for you

@AllTheBlackCoffee @pinkpinkeverywhere same happened to me this morning Blush

No breakfast for me as I'm a seasoned faster. Lunch was this lovely bowl of harissa sprouts and tea will be Bolognese. Am trying the bare naked noodles for the first time, usually just go for FLGV with my meat sauce
Do you have a recipe/how do you make the harissa sprouts please @ouchmyfeet? Is there cheese with them please?

ouchmyfeet · 17/01/2022 14:01

Yes, they have halloumi in them, the recipe is on the veggie thread but it's from the green roasting tin, which is one of my favourite cookbooks

regather.net/recipe/spicy-harissa-sprouts-broccoli-with-halloumi/

I use spinach rather than kale, it's nice with a few mushrooms too

ouchmyfeet · 17/01/2022 14:02

I chuck it all in the air fryer for 10 minutes but works well in the oven too, it just takes longer

NoraEphronsNeck · 17/01/2022 14:05

Hi everyone, having lost 40lbs in 2020, I wasn't as enthusiastic in 2021 as I could have been... but am starting this at same weight I was last April so counting that as a win!

Meals today are two boiled eggs plus feta & olive salad

Dinner will be leftover pork, cabbage with a creamy sauce and mushrooms.

I'm drinking ALL the water and following 16/8 as I've found that easy to stick to in the past.

Good luck to all!

Glenthebattleostrich · 17/01/2022 14:10

Forgot how fast this thread moves in the first few weeks!

Today is my first day back at work after being off last week with Covid. I am absolutely exhausted and just want to sleep.

3l of water down, half a litre to go.

Food on plan for the day.

DollyDingleberry · 17/01/2022 14:36

I'm joining! (again...)

I don't know why I even try other diets, i KNOW this is the only thing with a hope of working for me. It's bloody science (PCOS, insulin resistant yadayadayada)

I started the new year on weight watchers and stayed exactly the same weight while sticking religiously to the plan for 2 weeks. It wasn't even that carby compared to an average western diet but I couldn't lose an ounce. Bloody pissing PCOS the bastard. BAH.

I've lost 5 stone in 8 months on LCHF before and it's the only time I've ever successfully lost weight. I had a bootcamp baby 9 months ago (conceived using low carb to bump start my cycle, Thanks @BIWI!!) and now I'm here to shift the same bastarding 5 stone I lost in 2017.

Bah, Humbug (sugar free humbug, obvs)

B: Double cream coffee, avocado and bacon
L: Chicken kebab and salad
D: Will be shepards pie without the potato for me and LC veg

Onwards and downwards...

WitchWand · 17/01/2022 15:09

Hello All,

Thanks very much for setting up this thread BIWI and ouchmyfeet . I'm just arriving at the party after a week away with work. And so glad to be able to join in.

I successfully shifted just over 4 and a half stone after participating in several consecutive LC bootcamps here a few years ago.
I'm currently at a "reasonable" size and weight for myself at the moment ( 10 stone 9). But, I want to get back to being slim because I enjoyed the summer and the warm weather so much when I was slimmer. So that's my goal.

It's been great to read everyone so far. And I'm looking forward to reading everyone's shares as we go along. Wishing everyone lots of luck with many good dollops of FLOGV too.

ShagMeRiggins · 17/01/2022 15:35

“And at 45, I need to take my health much more seriously than I have in the past.”

I’ve often wondered why it takes so long for most of us to consider health.

I pretended to care about my health when I was younger, now it’s serious.

I wish there were some way I could go back in a time capsule and tell myself—and others—that, like wealth, health is cumulative.

Plus skin, obviously.

#sunscreeneveryday Grin

Gardeniafleur · 17/01/2022 15:40

Eggs for breakfast, some salami and celery for lunch, roast lamb shoulder with shallots, courgettes and spinach for dinner.

Have found that my favourite mug holds 500ml water! Am drinking mostly warm water as too chilly here to drink cold.

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 17/01/2022 16:03

I just don't think we believe we're going go get frail or die until we reach middle age, @ShagMeRiggins .

I, personally, was immortal until I had my first baby, and still felt secretly death-proof even after that.

I've had yoghurt with cream & psyllium husks for brek, two hard-boiled eggs with mayo, leftover bc-friendly cauliflower cheese, a bit of smoked salmon and 2/3 of my water.

Salmon fillet with shoogled sprouts for dinner.

I've just picked out five recipes from the bootcamp recipe threads thatI want to try over the next couple of weeks.

ShagMeRiggins · 17/01/2022 16:10

@Zonder

My lovely DH has just done me a low carb lunch! I can't go in the kitchen as I'm isolating but he did me eggs salmon and cheese with a bit of salad. I have not wrecked it so far then!
That’s lovely. I get the impression he cooked that because he knows you’re low (not NO) carbing? And also because you have covid.

My guess is he will be happy to accommodate your dietary and illness needs.

SkunkButRug · 17/01/2022 16:12

Can I ask about the shoogled sprouts? How does one shoogle a sprout?

Wilkolampshade · 17/01/2022 16:15

Sprouts, spinach, mushroom, bacon and cheese fry for breakfast.
Steak and greens for lunch.
30g greek yoghurt.
Handful hazelnuts (well, 8)
Psyllium husks.
Broccoli and sausage.

Just had some sad, sad news and have decided to re-varnish the hall floor in an attempt to stop me eating the sadness away.

BIWI · 17/01/2022 16:17

Sorry about your sad news @Wilkolampshade.

Which makes me feel mean about taking you to task for your nuts! No nuts for the first two weeks of Bootcamp I'm afraid.

ShagMeRiggins · 17/01/2022 16:17

@namechange5575

I know that the only way I can lose weight is through low carb - I lost 2 stone in 2020, and put it back on last year :( I need to stick with it pretty strictly until I'm a sensible weight. I had eggs, bacon and mushrooms for lunch, I will make sure I have breakfast tomorrow and eat well, as getting hungry is disastrous for me. I need to just focus on really sticking to the plan for the first few weeks until I'm fat adapted, and then think about losing weight after that (being disappointed about early weight losses is also disastrous for me!)

I have a water tip: a large glass of water / cup of coffee or fruit cup every odd hour works for me. So 7am, 9am, 11am etc. Good luck everyone.

It’s important that you’ve identified your disasters.

Everyone joins Bootcamp for their own reasons and goals and experiences.

Being able to dig into your observations (of how body responds) and psychology (of mind, thoughts, ‘triggers’, patterns) can be important.

Some are here to lose 6lbs. Some are here to lose 160lbs.

It’s important for us to be here, together, and support each other.

Mimosa1 · 17/01/2022 16:19

@zonder, your DH sounds lovely. Mine is lovely too but was meant to join me on BC today and hasn't, grr... Tomorrow. I also stood on the scale and it asked if was him. I'm 80kg which is heavier than I was when I gave birth, so it's def time to get myself in hand again...

I believe shoogled sprouts are microwaved with butter and the shoogling is the little shake you give to spread the butter halfway though? I'm sure a shoogling expert will be along shortly.

B: SLC rolls with butter and cheese
L: Mozzarella, tomato and basil salad with a whole ball of Buffola and oilve oil
L: Probably aubergine and paneer curry

TakeItCheesy · 17/01/2022 16:19

I've been thinking the exact same thing @SkunkButRug - they sound somehow buttery to me!

Thanks to those who commented commiserating and giving advice. Bit shocked at how much water I need to drink 😅

On that note - the last few times I've tried to increase my water intake I've been really prone to bad nighttime cramps in my legs and feet, and I turn into a bit of a monster when sleep deprived. I've got some electrolytes to try to avoid it this time, but does anyone have any other tips on how to deal with it?

BIWI · 17/01/2022 16:22

It's sad, isn't it, to read how the last couple of years have had such a negative effect on us all?

I'm very much hoping that there is light at the end of the tunnel (rather than an express train hurtling towards us), and want to make 2022 the year when I really do look after myself. I've been up and down and all over the place with eating and drinking and exercise over the last two years, with the inevitable result that anything positive has been far outweighed by the negative.

Anyway. One of the most wonderful things about the Bootcamp threads is the support and sense of general camaraderie. We're all at different places on our 'journey' (sorry for the cliché!), and all have different aims and ambitions. But we're here to share and encourage.

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 17/01/2022 16:22

Have you got anyone in your house who'll rub your feel, @TakeItCheesy ?

I've actually got a foot massage machine. Along with zero electrolyte supplements and a hot water bottle, they sort out my tingly toes.

Wilkolampshade · 17/01/2022 16:29

No nuts @BIWI? Arse.

byebyecarbs · 17/01/2022 16:32

I'm getting some great food inspiration on here and definitely going to try the sprout thingy!

Another thing that I'm getting from this thread is that lots of people have lost a lot of weight doing this but then regained it. So I guess the most important thing for me to learn as a result of people sharing their experiences is that this shouldn't be a temporary fix but a lifelong commitment to eating minimal carbs. Would the people that regained their weight mind saying whether once they'd lost the weight if they abandoned low-carbing altogether or just took their eye of the ball a bit and relaxed the rules and it was a gradual gain? Or was it more to do with lockdown and the strange circumstances of the last couple of years.

Rshard · 17/01/2022 16:36

Just looked for harissa after reading about your brussels ouchmyfeet, but there so many! Which do you use please?
