Here's a link to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness lovingly managed by @ouchmyfeet.

I've added a couple of names that I've spotted this evening, but they're at the bottom of the list not alphabetised - if your name isn't on the list, add yours at the bottom, and we'll re-alphabetise it once we get going.

Celeriac soup for lunch, home made
I have a lot to lose so hoping for a good start
Hello to all the lurkers
Thanks to @BIWI and @ouchmyfeet for all the admin and advice

PlantBasedPlatypus · 17/01/2022 12:46

No breakfast here (IF day)

Lunch was stuffed portobello mushrooms with tomatoes, olives, chilli and garlic. Was meant to add Vegan cream cheese but accidentally picked up butter it transpires. Lashings of olive oil on it all.

Icaru · 17/01/2022 12:48

Pork chop, mushrooms and broccoli for my lunch!

Welcome to 2022's first Low Carb Bootcamp!
Icaru · 17/01/2022 12:48

Spinach even...

Rshard · 17/01/2022 12:51

I’m also a fan of a Friday morning weigh in poorbuthappy, exact same reason

Zonder · 17/01/2022 12:53

My lovely DH has just done me a low carb lunch! I can't go in the kitchen as I'm isolating but he did me eggs salmon and cheese with a bit of salad. I have not wrecked it so far then!

namechange5575 · 17/01/2022 12:55

I know that the only way I can lose weight is through low carb - I lost 2 stone in 2020, and put it back on last year :( I need to stick with it pretty strictly until I'm a sensible weight. I had eggs, bacon and mushrooms for lunch, I will make sure I have breakfast tomorrow and eat well, as getting hungry is disastrous for me. I need to just focus on really sticking to the plan for the first few weeks until I'm fat adapted, and then think about losing weight after that (being disappointed about early weight losses is also disastrous for me!)

I have a water tip: a large glass of water / cup of coffee or fruit cup every odd hour works for me. So 7am, 9am, 11am etc. Good luck everyone.

Baystard · 17/01/2022 12:55

B - coffee
L - fasting
D - smoked ham with eggs and tomatoes. Will probably boil the eggs and mash with butter to increase fat content.

ShagMeRiggins · 17/01/2022 13:02

My focus this bootcamp will be on the FLVG aspect, as I tend to use LC as an excuse to eat bowlfuls of fried meat and a ton of dairy, while pretending it's virtuous.

Haven’t read the full thread, but had to respond to this while I remembered.

My response is… Grin

ShangPie · 17/01/2022 13:02

Morning all!

First time Bootcamper, but not new to LCHF / keto WOE

This will be my first foray into LCHF with a toddler who lives for bread and pasta, so will be digging deep for the willpower while prepping his meals.

I am having problems accessing the spreadsheet on my phone as the only non Gmail user left on earth but will haunt the threads while I get round to figuring it out on my laptop.

B - bulletproof coffee
L - mackerel pate with cucumber slices
S - mini pigs in blankets and cheese
D - greek lamb meatballs with FTGV

Have 5kg to lose - would love to stretch that to 7kg.

ShagMeRiggins · 17/01/2022 13:03

Sorry, that was for Ragz.

prettybird · 17/01/2022 13:04

I'm a week in and I've already lost 6.25lb Smile I actually started on the Sunday but didn't weigh myself then: if I had I might have been able to see a whole half stone loss Grin I know it will slow down now.

Down from 12st 4lb to 11st 11.75lb Smile

It would be nice this Boot Camp if I could finally break back though the 11stone barrier into the 10st somethings but I'm not going to beat myself up if I can't. If I can lose 10lb, then that's me back to where I'd got to previously in recent Boot Camps. I'd got to just under 11 and a half stone before Christmas, so that's my immediate target.

dogmandu · 17/01/2022 13:05

Why no breakfast @dogmandu?

I have to get up at 5.45 to get my grandson up for school. Also have to make a wrap for his break. After having done that, I'm just not hungry any more. I do have a coffee around 10 ish though. My hunger times are in the evening. I need to stop that though.

BIWI many thanks for all you do here.

BIWI · 17/01/2022 13:08

Sorry, but it's the very first rule of Bootcamp @dogmandu! Even if you just have a piece of cheese while you're making his wrap.

Andi2020 · 17/01/2022 13:25

@prettybird I started where you are not last year and got down to 9st something before Xmas. I weigh in llbs so don't know exactly
It was 131lb so it leaves me a bit off wiggle room don't want to go over 140 ever.
Well done on your loss this year so far.

foxlover47 · 17/01/2022 13:32

@BIWI hey and thank you for running this !
Just updated my
Spreadsheet , starting today ... even seeing my weight written down has kicked my but , I am such a comfort eater anything will throw me off even a bad dog walk so I've ordered a planner and because it was dearer than any planner I've ever brought I'm determined to write only commitments into it Smilewell that's the idea !!🙈
Hello all , I've done ww , slimming world etc in the past and I've only ever lost properly from
Low carb.
I'm
Nervous because I'm not old at sticking to things so cross fingers and good luck to all x I had a coffee and cheese for breakfast , going to have a geese omelette with spinach for lunch x

foxlover47 · 17/01/2022 13:33

Oops cheese omelette not geese 🙈never geese lol

BIWI · 17/01/2022 13:34

How many geese to make an omelette, @foxlover? Grin

OP posts:
foxlover47 · 17/01/2022 13:34

@BIWI whahahahhA prob 2 how hungry I am today 🙈🤣🤣

BIWI · 17/01/2022 13:36

If you're hungry, then you should eat something. (Low carb, obviously!)

This WOE isn't about deprivation, and it's especially important in the early days to make sure you're not getting hungry, as this can lead to all manner of temptations!

Once you're fat-adapted, which should happen within the first couple of weeks, you will find that your appetite diminishes, and you really won't be hungry between meals.

OP posts:
ouchmyfeet · 17/01/2022 13:36

@stayathomegardener I've added that for you

@AllTheBlackCoffee @pinkpinkeverywhere same happened to me this morning Blush

No breakfast for me as I'm a seasoned faster. Lunch was this lovely bowl of harissa sprouts and tea will be Bolognese. Am trying the bare naked noodles for the first time, usually just go for FLGV with my meat sauce

Welcome to 2022's first Low Carb Bootcamp!
LostMyLastHatfulOfWords · 17/01/2022 13:36

@BIWI

A note about weighing

Each Monday I'll re-post the spreadsheet for you to add your weight. Weight is the most conventional way that we monitor progress, but it isn't the only way, and actually isn't always the most accurate way. It's not unknown for people to see no change on the scales, yet to know that they've lost weight as their clothes are fitting better.

You don't have to weigh (and nor do you need to be on the spreadsheet), but it is always helpful to know how you're progressing, as this helps to keep you focused. There are two other important ways to do this:

1 - take your measurements. Hips, waist and bust, as well as upper thigh and upper arms.

2 - find an article of clothing that currently just a little too tight - a pair of jeans, or a blouse - and try them on each week. This is the most tangible way to see how things are working for you.

You can do these as well as weighing of course!

No scales here - so I'm going by my clothing.
Good luck everyone.
BIWI · 17/01/2022 13:37

Make sure you rinse those noodles well @ouchmyfeet, and then dry fry them in a frying pan for 3 minutes before you add the sauce.

The liquid that they're in smells fishy, and so it's important to rinse that off.

OP posts:
ouchmyfeet · 17/01/2022 13:38

Thanks for the tip BIWI, will definitely rinse!

dogmandu · 17/01/2022 13:40

Sorry, but it's the very first rule of Bootcamp @dogmandu! Even if you just have a piece of cheese while you're making his wrap.

OK I'll do it. Thanks for pulling me up on it. I'll keep to the rules now.
