Here's a link to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness lovingly managed by @ouchmyfeet.

I've added a couple of names that I've spotted this evening, but they're at the bottom of the list not alphabetised - if your name isn't on the list, add yours at the bottom, and we'll re-alphabetise it once we get going.

Paracetamol sorted out my headache, had a bit of a gall bladder grumble this afternoon (I don’t have a gallbladder anymore thanks to PCOS but also thanks to PCOS I still form stones in my biles ducts which block off the bile and cause the same gall bladder pain/ biliary colic I had before they removed it.. joy!) which is usually triggered by fat intake, so I just need to be a bit mindful of that and maybe reduce my fats a little bit if it starts kicking off royally. Hopefully this will settle down soon though and I can go back to eating butter in everything Grin

If anyone is still struggling with ‘fats are good’, I really recommend Gary Taubes ‘why we get fat’ - it’s excellent for explaining the science behind this WOE in a way that’s really relatable and not too heavy.

ThatsAllFolks · 21/01/2022 15:45

Agree re fat, trebled the butter in my cheesy scrambled eggs last two days and not interested in food for at least six hours. Finding a number of pints of water also makes me feel full over the eveningtime which would be my gin n nibbles time before. Going to do a spring-clean this weekend to keep busy and on track. Christmas tree, I'm looking at you, you coming down

BIWI · 21/01/2022 16:27

The hunger is definitely subsiding here. I made myself a sandwich with a Seriously Low Carb roll (a real treat - low carb sausages and fried shallots). I could only manage half of it, and I'm still not hungry now.

It's so much easier to stay on track when you're not feeling hungry.

OP posts:
NoraEphronsNeck · 21/01/2022 16:27

If I feel peckish for something treat-like in the evening I'll have a sneaky spoonful of double cream - it does the trick.

AllTheBlackCoffee · 21/01/2022 16:32

I have a case of the vanishing hunger here too. Made an amazing omelette at lunch and ended up giving the leftovers to DH who wolfed it down (after eating his own!). I feel so full now, I'm not sure I can cope with tea. Luckily we don't eat til about 8 on Fridays as DS is out at training so I cook for when he's back. So hoping I might have a bit of an appetite by then.

CeleriacOfTheNight · 21/01/2022 16:44

Also not too hungry here.

Lunch was lovely- half a low carb roll thickly topped with crab pate and a side of a ricotta stuffed cherry pepper and mozzarella balls in garlicky oil.

Not sure what dinner will be.

In other news, and totally vanity related, I am fucked off Sad. I bought a couple of bits of new make up and had a play this afternoon...

I used to have such pretty eyes! And now they just disappear into my big doughy head!

The phrase 'choose between your face and your arse' does not apply to me, clearly I can have neither Angry

Ah well!

BIWI · 21/01/2022 16:56

You'll get there @CeleriacOfTheNight! And you can have both Flowers

OP posts:
ilovecherries · 21/01/2022 17:21

@BIWI

I'm sorry you're suffering *@ilovecherries*. I wonder though - have you done a LFT? In the latest email I had from the ZOE study, Tim Spector is reporting that there are more reports of gastrointestinal symptoms.
Yeah, I’m LFT’d to the eyeballs (quite literally it feels) as mum is nearly 90 so I always do one before seeing her. Also had a PCR yesterday as was expecting to have a small procedure tomorrow (now cancelled for about the billionth time) but just had a negative test result for that too.
ShangPie · 21/01/2022 17:24

Another one whose hunger is subsiding. But now I have so much delicious stuff in the fridge - cured meats, a whole roast chicken, olives, cheese - that I find myself picking a lot. Like, I open the fridge to get something out for DS and acknowledge that I’m not hungry, but I still have a slice of chorizo or an olive.

Is that not worth worrying about or is it an issue I need to address? If so, how?

BIWI · 21/01/2022 17:28

If you're not hungry, then yes you should stop doing that @ShangPie!

CeleriacOfTheNight · 21/01/2022 17:48

Thank you BIWI, yes you're right- if I stick at this (and no good reason not to) I SHALL have both the Face and the Arse! Grin

Still no nearer deciding what to have for dinner Confused

QueenOfHiraeth · 21/01/2022 18:13

I wish my hunger would vanish!

My day started well, f/f greek yoghurt and cinnamon for breakfast then went out for lunch with a friend which wasn't perfect but pretty good, I had fish in a creamy sauce (it was fish pie on the menu but was very arty bits of fish in sauce with a swirly bit of mash on the side which I left). Unfortunately the day has now gone downhill as I got home to find DH has eaten the chicken which was for tea so I now have stir fry veg but no protein to go with it and don't want to go to the shops when I'm hungry as I know which way that will go Angry

BIWI · 21/01/2022 18:15

Do you have eggs @QueenOfHiraeth? You could always make a couple of thin omelettes, which you roll up and slice finely, to add to your stir-fry. One egg per omelette, and fry each separately, so that you make a thin omelette.

Add sesame oil to your stir-fry when it's cooked (assuming you have any!) as this will also increase the fat.

OP posts:
ShangPie · 21/01/2022 18:25

You’re right - I need to work on breaking the habit of mindlessly picking, not rationalising hiding behind the small amount or the quality / LCHF nature of the food.

BIWI · 21/01/2022 18:25

Benvolio · 21/01/2022 18:32

Yes my arse is tiny. It was definitely the cat's doing. Also, yes, that is why I chose the name

SummerSazz · 21/01/2022 18:35

I had a delicious (huge!) bowl of broccoli and Stilton and soup for lunch. For anyone interested:

Half a head of wilting broccoli steamed
Half a huge nearly dead leek
Slab of Stilton (castello creamy) which was on the turn
Good pour of double cream

Steamed the broccoli, fried up the leeks in butter, added to the pan with Stilton and cream and whizzed up. Hot water to get to the right consistency and then seasoned with salt and pepper Smile

A great way to use up fridge leftovers!

Benvolio · 21/01/2022 18:43

Sorry should have @ShagMeRiggins

BaconOmelette · 21/01/2022 18:53

Thanks for the recommendation @stayathomegardener and @BIWI

I’m off to the beginning of the thread to see what I’ve missed, will hopefully catch up in a couple of days.

dogmandu · 21/01/2022 19:09

@nigellaawsome

Might be a good idea to get some second hand all in one pants - that zip up and have straps to go over your shoulders. This will avoid pressure round the waist area and be much more comfortable than the ones you have.

H1Drangea · 21/01/2022 19:18

@SummerSazz I made a check the fridge then cook it dinner !
I had some chicken thighs and chorizo , added leek , red onion , red pepper and Brussels sprouts all browned off with some olive oil, salt and pepper , in a roasting tin in a hot oven for 20 mins or so
Added some chicken stock , half a tin of tomatoes and a glug of cream cook another 10 minutes or so

What I like , ( almost but not quite addicted to ) is using sea salt crystals , not milled but lovely crunchy crystals
I had some Halen Mon in a lovely jar with a little wooden spoon , but I couldn’t find a refill in my local Tesco , so I’ve refilled it with some Atlantic sea salt

It’s the weekend. , time for some … WATER

BIWI · 21/01/2022 19:20

Welcome @BaconOmelette!

stayathomegardener · 21/01/2022 19:22

Hi @BaconOmelette! Excellent user name Smile

CeleriacOfTheNight · 21/01/2022 19:22

Dinner ended up being 3 rashers bacon, one sausage and two eggs fried in butter. Tasty, but woefully lacking in veg Blush

Will do better tomorrow!

CrystalTits · 21/01/2022 19:25

Hello, I’ve finally added myself to the spreadsheet of fabulousness and read all the rules/recipes as I started on Monday. I followed a previous boot camp many years ago but since then have become fully menopausal and hypothyroid - a shitty and demoralising combo when attempting any weight loss!

Looking forward to being part of this brilliant bunch of losers. Thanks especially to @BIWI and @ouchmyfeet.
