Here's a link to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness lovingly managed by @ouchmyfeet.

I've added a couple of names that I've spotted this evening, but they're at the bottom of the list not alphabetised - if your name isn't on the list, add yours at the bottom, and we'll re-alphabetise it once we get going.

@Benvolio

NSD (non-scales defeat): sat down heavily (well duh) on the sofa and my PJ bottoms split all along the arse seam.
Oh no !! Grin Wishing you some new pyjamas very soon ! Smile
stayathomegardener · 20/01/2022 22:25

Thinking of you @Fleecy, horrible shock and 60 is so young really.

WitchWand · 20/01/2022 22:32

Busy day with work. But happy to have stayed focused on healthy food.

B: Greek yoghurt
L: Turkey and turnips
D: Chicory, ham and cream, green salad and gorgonzola .
Delicious !

Lots of water and tea. Smile

Oneborneverydecade · 20/01/2022 22:37

Oh no @Benvolio were there any witnesses? Is it worth buying the next size down with the knowledge that you'll soon fit into them?

I hadn't heard of the book mentioned upthread so off to research that and reread the prep thread

ilovecherries · 20/01/2022 22:51

Despite adequate planning and prep didn’t manage three meals today because of rather significant (ahem) ‘intestinal hurry’ from about 3pm onwards which put me right off eating. Breakfast was yoghurt
Lunch was HM chicken zoodle soup
3pm onwards was about a gallon of mint tea

Have been in bed for a couple of hours listening to a symphony of gurgles from my abdomen. DD and BF have demolished my cauliflower chicken bake.

NigellaAwesome · 20/01/2022 23:03

Oh @Fleecy, what a shock Flowers.

We're going skiing in 3 weeks time, and we got all of our ski gear out of the loft. FFS - my XL Rossignol salopettes are far too tight - they don't even do up, and my lovely coat is stretch over the shoulders and won't zip up. DH has been very encouraging and has said to stick with bootcamp and it will be fine, but it will need to be a miracle. I'm off to Decathlon tomorrow to see what I can get just in case. And now that France has opened up in time for half term, I bet there'll be bugger all left.

It's week 3 for me, and I am having to remind myself to manage my expectations. I lost 9lbs in the first week, and was over the moon, and nothing since. I think I am holding on to a lot of water - my hands and lower arms are swollen, and I'm not sure why. I've been itching furiously for the last 10 days (to the point I even convinced myself I'd got scabies even though I can't think where I could have possibly got it) and it isn't responding to any treatment, so it could just be my immune system causing it.

Today's food:
B: coffee & almond milk, sliced chorizo
L: spiced cauliflower soup & some raspberries (week 3 for me)
D: pulled pork and harissa sprouts, with a couple of parsnip chips

Benvolio · 20/01/2022 23:05

No witnesses, (except cat and dog, who both thought it was hilarious).

Benvolio · 20/01/2022 23:08

@Ragzreebooted glad you asked about the lemon in the cheese sauce. I can't imagine it working either, but I have faith in BIWI and need to try it out ASAP.

Hopeislost · 20/01/2022 23:37

So sorry for your loss @Fleecy

@AThroneOfLies Fennel is especially good in a salmon traybake.

APerfectlyGoodName · 20/01/2022 23:42

The food posts are killing me. The recipes I mean.
Cherries I think that came from a William Porter book. He's ex army and does these ' xxx Explained' books. I find him very logical and his explanation stay with me.
B. Veg eggs & feta. Lots of creamy coffee.
L. Tomato soup.
D. Salmon (2portions Blush) and coleslaw
S/D2. Greek yogurt.

Benvolio · 20/01/2022 23:57

@NigellaAwesome a few weeks ago I got some size 16 ski trousers really cheaply from Mountain Warehouse. Might be worth a look online.

MrsTerryPratchett · 21/01/2022 00:03

I've been itching furiously for the last 10 days

Keto itch is a thing.

@Benvolio thanks! You made me make a snorting noise. I definitely think we should make NSDs public.

foxlover47 · 21/01/2022 00:12

@Fleecy I'm really sorry for your loss , what awful shock x
I've been stocking with it , tonight for some reason I really fancied my daughters Haribo but went and ate two hard boiled eggs ... I have to have snacks to hand so that I can fight my urges 🙈
Think I drink too much black coffee and not enough water

DearZoom · 21/01/2022 01:17

So sorry for your loss @Fleecy. What a horrible shock for you all x

madisonbridges · 21/01/2022 01:33

I'm so sorry to hear your news, @Fleecy. Your poor husband. Condolences to you and your family.

byebyecarbs · 21/01/2022 06:03

It's all going good here and I've got much less interest in food than normal despite all the lovely food ideas everyone is posting.

I bought a couple of celeriacs from Morrisons yesterday and watched a few youtube videos on how to prep them. I was amazed to learn that they were the roots of celery and celery stalks grew out of them (I know everyone else probably knew this already but it had passed me by).

Lastly for anyone who is troubled with itching then E45 itch cream is really good. I used to get itchy feet at night and it always sorted it.

Need to do better with my water today!

Jollyholibobs · 21/01/2022 06:32

@venusandmars thanks for the pragmatic advice. I’ll try and adopt that approach for my trip.

Hope the itching people are experiencing will subside soon.

Yesterday turned out well despite no plan for food. Felt like I spent most of the day at Heathrow having allowed too much contingency in my timing for pre flight COVID test at airport which was very slick. Lunch was a smoked Mackeral salad. I was in the posh BA lounge as my sisters guest. I’m never good in an environment with unlimited free food but noted and then ignored the pastries and crisps. Halo By the time we got to France the shops were shut. Nobody has been in my sisters apartment since August 2020. An investigation of the cupboard found tinned tuna, mayonnaise and capers in need of eating. Date on the Mayo was overlooked. It was delicious. She’d asked the people who look after things to leave bread cheese and milk. No bread passed my lips. Success. Got the water in too but went to the loo not once but twice in the night.

Today there is a box of muesli in the cupboard. Not tempted there. Need to get some eggs for breakfast. Will be maxing out on French Cheese yum. A fondue is definitely on the cards.

B black coffee and swerving the ancient Muesli
L looking for a Salad in a restaurant.
D to be negotiated with my ski buddies following a trip to Carrefour. Feeling inspired by tray bake salmon and fennel up thread.

Mustn’t forget Water.

StuntNun · 21/01/2022 06:46

Yesterday's food:
Brunch (as I was going out and didn't want to fast all day): leftover spicy harissa sprouts.
Snack: Curators salt and vinegar pork puffs (from Sainsburys).
Dinner: bunless bacon and cheese burgers plus salad with vinaigrette. I was still hungry afterwards so I made a few pork scratchings in the deep fat fryer.

DollyDingleberry · 21/01/2022 06:53

Morning all,

I had a bit of a wobble yesterday. I didn’t eat anything I shouldn’t, but i didn’t have breakfast and I didn’t drink nearly enough water. It was my day off and I had the little one, so getting time to have a drink/ breakfast just didn’t happen. Must do better.

Anyway, today;

B: Greek yog and cream
L: chicken kebab with mayo and salad
D: roast pork, loads of crackling, FLGV.

Velocity · 21/01/2022 07:11

Good morning - I'm joining the bootcamp challenge. I have a very successful experience with bootcamp a few years ago and manage to maintain a lower-camp approach for a long time but second year of covid and a very lazy Christmas saw increasing levels of carb consumption (toast, I'm looking at you). So - I know that I can't mess about so its back to a stricter approach.

Pleaseandthankyou · 21/01/2022 07:34

So sorry @Fleecy. I have been in the same position as you. Looking back I underestimated how much effect the shock had on me as I was overwhelmed with the loss. Take time for you and your family.

Jollyholibobs · 21/01/2022 07:47

@Velocity -welcome

missfliss · 21/01/2022 08:05

Gah! Positive PCR here for my husband and I have symptoms too ( off for a PCR this morning).

Should I still do boot camp? Do I eat what I please and then start again when better? Don't really want to stop as was making progress ... :-(

Maybe bootcamp light?

3luckystars · 21/01/2022 08:10

I got a positive too, ye were correct it was covid! I’m unwell, have a really bad medical situation going on with one of my children too so will have to bow out and join the next boot camp.

Thanks everyone and good luck.

missfliss · 21/01/2022 08:25

Oh so sorry @3luckystars

And of course to @Fleecy

Sending hugs 🤗
