The last one was pretty quiet, so I'm trying to gauge how many would be interested in a January one - probably starting around the middle of the month.

Oh lord, I am approx 87% a mix of Stilton and stuffing right now, and my blood type is Baileys positive.

Yes please- the earlier the better for me, and I will even amend my username in order to comply.

potas · 29/12/2021 20:12

Yes please

TwirlyWitch · 29/12/2021 20:12

Ooh yes please! this is exactly what I need, I know it works and I’ve just joined the gym. I’m DESPERATE to lose this weight!

MrsTerryPratchett · 29/12/2021 20:14

I'm already on it (again) but could do with the support. The whole house is filled with guests (who are driving me insane), alcohol (which is making me snacky) and carbs. Send help.

I need you awesome nerds.

DrMaryMalone · 29/12/2021 20:17

Yes please. I did low carb summer 2019 before going on holiday and it really worked for me. Unfortunately nearly 2 years of work from home means I'm the heaviest I've ever been...

NoraEphronsTurkeyNeck · 29/12/2021 20:52

Oh yes please. Sadly I bowed out of the Christmas one very early due to nights out etc so definitely need to get back on track.

I also missed the chat which I find makes an enormous difference and gives accountability.

Yes please! Have done BC before but have had to name change, not that it makes much difference with regards to tracking weight because I’m back at pre weight loss point after eating like chocolate was going out of circulation for the last week!

@Happyface120

I've never low carbed before- is it suitable for a runner (25ish miles a week). I need to lose 2 stone, but I'm just bloody starving all the time
@Happyface120

In the first couple of weeks you will suffer. There's no way to disguise that! It's your body switching from burning carbs for fuel to burning fat. But once you are fat-adapted, you will be fine.

If you want to know more, I can highly recommend reading "The Art and Science of Low Carbohydrate Performance" by Drs Phinny and Volek. They've done lots of their own research into athletes and endurance sports and how low carb affects performance.

Yes, please! Mid-Jan would be perfect. Know it works for me but last year (this year!) was a bit of a right off. Looking forward to getting back on track.

Being a pescatarian wouldn't affect low carbing at all! Fish plus vegetables and/or salad at mealtimes would be absolutely perfect low carb food. The only thing you'd need to remember is that you have to make sure you're adding plenty of fat to your meals.

Hi BIWI, yes please! I started in the August one and found it really helpful. I was rather quiet in the last, pre Christmas, one as I had a lot going on in my home life and low carbing took a bit of a back seat (though I tried to remain low-ish carb as much as possible) but I'm up for a restart in January!
