We've reached the end of the Low Carb Bootcamp so how did you do overall? Add your weigh-in to the Spreadsheet and let us know your plans. Would you like to keep losing weight over the coming week and months? Are you thinking about giving weight maintenance a go? Have you considered introducing intermittent fasting? This thread will continue until the next Bootcamp starts so there will be plenty of support for you.

My kingdom for a celeriac...

AthelstaneTheUnready · 18/04/2020 07:27

Not even going to attempt it this year Shag! New garden, new bed, new pests, new weather. Will wait and see what thrives.

Prettybird would be pleased to hear I have a gazillion sprout seedlings putting on weight though.

Today will be mostly salmon and leek based, since that's what I've fished out of the freezer, and the local shop is sticking firmly to its leek theme.

HerRoyalCarbyLess · 18/04/2020 08:15

Still plodding on. I've lost 2lb since Monday.

BrassicaBabe · 18/04/2020 11:44

I hate the weekends. I've just eaten pasta pesto IN A WRAP. SadShock

Sorry, Brassica, but really. Grin

What on earth point were you trying to make to yourself! Grin

Congrats, CarbyLess! Chipping away at it there.

BrassicaBabe · 18/04/2020 13:34

I know. It's crazy. There is no rhyme nor reason. Was doing pasta pesto got kids lunch. Hating the lack of structure of a weekend with no work to fill my time. No motivation for exercise even though that would make me feel better. Prowled kitchen looking for anything.

BrassicaBabe · 18/04/2020 16:21

I've slept it off. Ready to climb back on it again.

Rshard · 20/04/2020 09:51

Morning all I’m slinking back in after being absent. So glad to read that people are doing ok in this new normal of ours. I too have been comfort eating and baking like mad, Easter eggs have been eaten but I’m back on it from today.

BrassicaBabe · 20/04/2020 10:17

Me too RShard. Exercise and mainly egg based meals planned. Also committed to cutting down the week day alcohol.

Rshard · 20/04/2020 10:58

I’m ditching the alcohol too brassica, dh and I have got through a bottle of aperol. I blame the nice weather!

DietChic · 20/04/2020 12:47

Up 1lb this morning and I blame it on taste checking the rice for everyone else’s lunch yesterday.

Glittercandle · 20/04/2020 13:06

No loss here for a few days but it seems to be the way my body works- p I lose a few pounds quickly and then nothing for a while and then it starts again.

Back to teaching DS at home again - was dreading it but he’s actually been good about it so far today and the work has been manageable without too many tweaks from me (he has SEN). Seems like this is going to go on forever!

moleeye · 20/04/2020 14:08

Have basically been eating and drinking everything in sight

Braved the scales this morning and I've put on a whopping 18lbs. Waaaaahhhh. So 2lb less than I lost in Jan's bootcamp.

Today is day 1 and I'm trying, but I just want to eat. If I can just get through today I think I can last.

Rshard · 20/04/2020 17:58

You can do it moleye, I’m starting over today as well. How’re you feeling now? Resisted?

BrassicaBabe · 20/04/2020 21:49

moleye We're with you in this too! Let's climb back on, drawer a line and get on.

I've quickly learned that weekdays are easier for me than weekends. So I need to crack on while the mood is with me. (I need to make plans ahead of time for the weekend).

I've mostly fasted today. I had enough calories Saturday and Sunday I'm afraid to sustain me Blush. I managed two exercise sessions; a 10 min sprint row and a v slow 5k dreadmill session.

Yes, wine, but a bit less 🤦🏻‍♀️

BrassicaBabe · 20/04/2020 21:53

Oh the irony. I bought 2x6 bottles of wine when lockdown first kicked in. A bit of a panic but. They cancelled the orders at the time. They've now reinstated the orders and delivered (despite normal channels being restored) and I don't like the wine delivered. That'll teach me!!

Rshard · 21/04/2020 07:32

Well done on the exercise brassica

moleeye · 21/04/2020 08:58

Well there was some slippage (I ate a blue riband and some of the kids apple crumble and custard), BUT no wine and no carbs and I managed to do intermittent fasting and drink 3L of water.

-2.5lb off this morning am feeling chuffed! I know it's all water weight but it's motivating me!

Feeling more determined today

Oh no @BrassicaBabe, give it away as presents at Christmas 😉

Rshard · 21/04/2020 09:25

Definitely could have been much worse moleeye!
I’m feeling motivated too, had a good day 1

BrassicaBabe · 21/04/2020 11:12

Nice one moleeye.

Glad the motivation has found you again RShard

I'm feeling strong too here. Going to have HM burgers and coleslaw for dinner. Got another garage row session planned too

Rshard · 21/04/2020 17:17

Well done brassica. Were the burgers nice? Dd and I were fantasising about burgers earlier, and decided that will be our first meal out post lock down. Bun less for me naturally!

SophieRay · 21/04/2020 20:20

I had no idea this was continuing after Bootcamp. I did really well in the short time I did the Bootcamp and enjoyed it as well, but when lockdown started I was just eating what I had in the house so I wasn't going out unnecessarily. Feel like I've put loads of weight on but haven't actually weighed (put a new battery in the scales so I can weigh first thing in the morning). Feel awful, sluggish and tired, not doing much exercise. So fresh start tomorrow and really looking forward to doing this again Smile

Rshard · 22/04/2020 05:53

Fair few of us starting over sophieray.

Day 2 went well for me, enjoying this woe. I made the quiche/flan that BIWI posted the recipe for a few pages back. Didn’t have bacon so griddled some asparagus instead. Also added a bit of mustard powder to the egg/cream mix

Jan '20 - Low Carb Bootcamp - The finish line!
moleeye · 22/04/2020 06:56

Ooooooh @Rshard that looks yum! I'm going to make a variation of that today using what's in the fridge.

Stuck to it 💯 yesterday and have lost 4lb since Monday.

I know this WOE works for my but I'm an emotional eater and stressing about money (OH is SE, so we only have my income) makes me default to pac man and eating everything in sight.

KOKO!

ilovecherries · 22/04/2020 09:37

Popping back in to say hello. I’ve been struggling, for the first time in three years. DD is vulnerable, so we’ve been making do with deliveries, but not having control over my own food choices is driving me a bit crazy. We get a veg box and a butchers box every week - all our local shops were quick off the mark, so I know we are lucky in that respect, we don’t have to fight for supermarket slots. Plus we get eggs and basic cheese from the milkman, and a bakers delivery for everyone else. Because of he numbers of orders they are processing, there is no customisation allowed, so the veg box is full of root veg. I’m just craving some green veg and salad. Because I’m bored, mealtimes have also become more important, so I feel I’m always thinking about food. Plus because HE is bored, DH is always baking something. While I don’t eat it, it’s vexing me to have it there. I thought I was over all this shit, but apparently all it took was a pandemic Hmm to get me right back into a bad mindset, and I’m terrified the old habits will follow.

Hope everyone is doing well!
