Week 7 - Low Carb Bootcamp - Girding our loins and getting a grip

BIWI · 25/02/2019 08:51

Morning all

Having a bit of a snigger to myself, because autocorrect wanted me to tile the thread 'Girding our doings ...' Grin

Here's the spreadsheet

We only have four weeks left. I know! Doesn't time fly when you're having fun?!

There's been a bit of slippage going on, I notice - and whilst it's not all been of our own doing, sometimes it's about situations where we've reverted to 'learnt' behaviour or type.

So. Let's all pull our socks up! We have only four weeks left, but those weeks could make all the difference.

If you're worried about how the next few weeks are going to go, perhaps a return to Bootcamp rather than Bootcamp Light might help?

Whatever strategy you adopt, here's wishing us all very good luck

Yes NowLook it's a 2-3 day fast. Obviously not something to do too often. I'm not sure I could manage it myself, I've never done longer than 24 hours. Also not something to try for people that are new to this way of eating.

Dia12 · 02/03/2019 08:26

Oh dear, keto crotch sounds gross! Thankfully it's not a side effect I've suffered from!
We have a wedding in the family and have family staying over so it's been super chaotic. Thankfully everyone's been really understanding of my woe and are no longer offering/insisting carby food.
My cycle has been a little funky this month - I wear an Ava bracelet which monitors BBT and uses that to pin point ovulation and it seems this month I may not have ovulated. Does anyone have any experience of hflc affecting their cycle?

KiteMarked · 02/03/2019 08:34

Dia12 all the Google hits say it increases fertility, which is hopeful for you, but for me - I'm nervously waiting to test after a mishap....

Siameasy · 02/03/2019 09:06

I’ve done a 24hr fast which wasn’t too bad but I did feel quite hungry the following day and it seemed like my body was telling me it needed to make up for it.
I generally seem to do an approximate 16:8 without actively meaning to.

1stMrsF · 02/03/2019 09:06

Thank you for the advice @StuntNun i agree that I found getting used to 16:8 wasn't too difficult. I did 14:10 for a week first which made it even easier.

Feeling better about loose skin today because of massive NSV. Waist measurement has decreased by 6in (16cm) overall and this morning I buttoned up a denim skirt that I couldn't even close a month ago! Shock

67chevvyimpala · 02/03/2019 09:12

77 kgs this morning.

0.5 oz off since yesterday :)

Mimosa1 · 02/03/2019 09:56

Congrats on the denim skirt @1stMrsF !

900g back of for me this am. The perils of weighing daily but also my v sweet Russian dinner last night. Still 400g off overall I suppose. If it doesn't stick after my virtuous week at CP, I shall be most disgruntled! Off to take the kids trampolining so that should burn some calories!

Have a good weekend all.

Doilooklikeatourist · 02/03/2019 10:03

Feeling much better this morning , had a step on the scales , and it’s the same , however whe. I saw myself in the mirror I thought my waist ( is starting to show ) looked better , so I had a measure and I’m nearly in 30 inches .
Which is amazing as in October it was nearer 35
Will be buying a new pair of the M &S skinny jeans , toying with the idea of buying a size 12 to try on , as the 14s I’ve only had a short while are a bit baggy round the waist ( though tight on the knees )

Inlovewithchocolate · 02/03/2019 10:30

Can I ask when you do a 16hr fast can you have tea or coffee with milk or cream

ShagMeRiggins · 02/03/2019 11:40

Quick check in to report I’m still successfully alcohol free. Yay me.

Getting ready now for quick family weekend at the beach in Great Yarmouth, though I think we’ve missed the seals. And the sun, clearly. Hmm

nowlook · 02/03/2019 11:48

Great stuff, @ShagMeRiggins

Hope the scales reflect your efforts!

m0therofdragons · 02/03/2019 12:01

Managed to get through dd's birthday week but really hadn't mentaller planned for a week with a house full of cake after. After a terrible couple of days of self sabotage and guilt I've been back on it and am back to my 10st 13lbs weight from 2 weeks ago. Target is still achievable so long as I keep going but I'm a bit worried about our planned trip to ZaZa bizarre next weekend (all you can eat buffet).

67chevvyimpala · 02/03/2019 12:03

My waist is 35 inches:(

StuntNun · 02/03/2019 12:47

Inlove cream would break the fast but some people allow up to 50 calories during fasting so a cup of tea or coffee with milk would be okay.

MrsKoala · 02/03/2019 14:07

Aaaaaargh I’m at my parents for lunchtime as she got a call from the hospital and dropped us here while we were out and they have fuck all for me to eat as I ‘DONT EAT ANYTHING!’ apparently. I am sitting in the other room trying to work out what I can have with a small tin of salmon some cheddar, lettuce, cucumber, tomato and peppers.

I am really hangry as we went swimming and to soft play this morning and I only had some yogurt and berries. With my lovely meatballs and feta cheese waiting at home for lunch.

I’m drinking tea with semi skimmed milk too. Angry

MrsKoala · 02/03/2019 14:07

DH not she.

nowlook · 02/03/2019 14:23

@MrsKoala Thanks

Have they any eggs so you can have a cheese omelette?

67chevvyimpala · 02/03/2019 14:25

Eggs and bacon for breakfast

Ive made a lis carb choc mousse - just cream, egg yolks and dark choc....

I've been busy cleaning all morning so havent had chance to do my yoga yet!

MrsKoala · 02/03/2019 14:26

No eggs!! No bloody eggs. Who has no eggs?! Grin

67chevvyimpala · 02/03/2019 15:02

I haven’t got any now mrsk I’ve used them all! :)

nowlook · 02/03/2019 15:04

@MrsKoala

Fuck it: you'll have to have a fondue with the crappy cheese and the shitty veg.

MrsKoala · 02/03/2019 15:38

They don’t even have oil and vinegar for dressing! I ended up frying leeks in butter mixing it with grated cheese and stuffing 2 halves of red pepper and baking it and having it with mayo. I said to my mum what kind of crappy hotel is this??? Grin

BIWI · 02/03/2019 16:21

And Star Star for @DCITennison! 13lbs is amazing. It won't all be water either.

Have been AWOL because DH took me to The Sportsman for dinner and so we drove to Whitstable, had lunch first, then dinner and stayed overnight at a lovely hotel.

I shall draw a veil over what I ate, but as this was my Christmas present, I went with the flow. (Although some indiscretions were very enjoyable, others simply weren't worth it). Thoroughly enjoyed it all, and I'm back on the straight and narrow from now.

We go off to Oz in April, so that's what I'm focusing on in terms of fitting into my summer clothes. (Hopefully it will still be warm when we go, event hough it will be autumn there!)

@BIWI I did wonder where you were!

I'm Mexico bound in April and might just make my happy weight by then.

67chevvyimpala · 02/03/2019 17:35

Dinner salmon and veggies.

I've got a chicken for lunch tomorrow.
