Morning all

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness.

We've reached the half way part now, and I hope you're finding it a bit easier - no more carb flu, and getting used to a different way of eating.

If you've suffered from the week 3, 4 or even 5 stall, I hope that this week you'll see the scales start to move (downwards!) again.

I hope you all have a good week

Hooray for Athel!

AthelstaneTheUnready · 14/02/2018 12:28
Halo

Also single here, but steak for dinner regardless. The cats may get some.

I look forward to hearing about how the romancers got on too, especially where it's degenerated into flung food. Wink

Rshard · 14/02/2018 12:33

Way to go alma and athelstane

ASDismynormality · 14/02/2018 12:41

AthelstaneTheUnready. I like the montezuma 100%, imagine it will be very hard to bite after being in the fridge!

AthelstaneTheUnready · 14/02/2018 12:48

It's hard enough to get into anyway, ASD as it's not in squares - I end up having to smash it into pieces, as my mother did with a hammer to her homemade treacle toffee when I was little (you had to suck the shards very gently and carefully for half an hour until the points and edges began to soften).

I'll take it out of the fridge a while before I have some Grin. I'm sure I read somewhere that something in cacao tends to ... go mouldy...? ...if you don't keep it chilled.

Mimosa1 · 14/02/2018 12:51

My house is full of cold and we were up a lot last night with various poorly children so no romantic Valentine's Day plans for me. However, I've had a sneaky peak at the scales and it looks like my 10 day stall is at an end. Fingers crossed it sticks around for Monday. I'm planning to start the "truth about fitness" and "how to lose weight well" programmes on catch up now I have shiny new headphones so I can watch quietly while the kids are asleep. I'm not normally so precious. It as they are both I'll, they've been in with us.

Athelstane well done you! And on the push ups. You've inspired me to try some later.

ASDismynormality · 14/02/2018 12:59

Athelstane. Chocolate would never have time to go mouldy in my house. Hotel chocolat sell 100% buttons and they are a perfect size, just big enough.

Well done to all who are coming out of a stall, I am too thankfully!

AthelstaneTheUnready · 14/02/2018 13:02

Wow, look at us all unstalling today Confused.

Has Aries finished colliding with Taurus or something? Perhaps the moon's in a special state.

Personally, I've done nothing different this week, so it has to be woo.

TheWayOfTheWorld · 14/02/2018 13:03

I've got some of those 100% Hotel Chocolat buttons - I bought them for making a luxury hot choc drink (by basically melting them into double cream) but haven't dared try it yet. Are they really not super bitter?

TheWayOfTheWorld · 14/02/2018 13:04

Oh and congrats on all the unstalling (de-stalling?) and push ups! I am WFH today and I will go out for a run before I have my lunch (if my associate would hurry up and get a document to me, not sure what on earth is taking 3 hours Hmm)

ASDismynormality · 14/02/2018 13:04

I was really bloated before and during my period so I know for me it’s the fluid disappearing, still not at my lowest recorded but very nearly!

ASDismynormality · 14/02/2018 13:06

theway they are quite bitter but very good! Definitely satisfy when the chocolate craving hits!

TerfsUp · 14/02/2018 13:10

Chocolate doesn't become mouldy - it 'blooms', ie the cocoa fat rises to the surface and gives the surface of the chocolate a white powdery look. Bloom doesn't affect the taste, luckily.

TerfsUp · 14/02/2018 13:12

Oh - and congratulations on the non-stall victories!

I'm in the middle of Week 4, so I've stalled but fingers crossed my weight loss picks up next week...

Rayna37 · 14/02/2018 14:01

I'm out for a Valentine's date with my baby; that's my actual 19 week old baby Grin as DH is away until tomorrow! Cinema followed by lunch, olives followed by poulet glistening with garlic butter and crispy skin, with green beans.
Well done on all these victories!

Grimbles · 14/02/2018 15:29

I needed some new tights, i automatically picked up the L/XL size but then decided to get M/L instead which I managed to get on without any problems

A small nsv, but pleasing anyway Grin

Mimosa1 · 14/02/2018 15:54

My NSV is that DH said my legs looked slimmer this morning. (I'm a pear shape with chunky legs and cankles).

Almahart · 14/02/2018 17:18

I made the cheese scones mentioned upthread after being out in the freezing cold to a super on trend hairdresser with one of my dc (for them not me natch). They were so good hot with butter that I ate four. Oops

Breakfast was bacon, asparagus and poached eggs
Snack Gouda and salami wraps x 2
Lunch four scones
Pudding failed truffles which ended up being melted chocolate and cream. Not remotely hungry now and left to my own devices wouldn't eat again tonight but DH may have other plans given that it's Valentine's Day and all

mrsglowglow · 14/02/2018 17:48

Someone was asking about a good dark chocolate. I was never a fan of dark but have been trying them again and treated myself to this one. I think the vanilla softens the bitterness and just a little is quite satisfying (unlike my dairy milk days when a whole bar was never enough).

Week 6 - Low Carb Bootcamp - welcome to part 2
TheWayOfTheWorld · 14/02/2018 18:10

mrsglowglow it was me asking about the chocolate Smile

DH unwell so I am making a romantic dinner a une - panfried chicken with FLGV and, dah dah daaahhh, trying out celeriac dauphinoise - am v excited!

GrandOldDukeOfPorkiness · 14/02/2018 19:27

athel well done! You will have another lb off soon what with all the running around celebrating!

B coffee with coconut cream, two sausages
L fennel salami, olives
S hazelnuts
D meatballs and courgettes fries in garlic butter
W getting there

In a starvatious moment trudging round shops earlier I bought an emergency bar of dark choc from Caffè Nero. Managed to get home without eating it though. But it is 70%. Is that too low??

BIWI · 14/02/2018 19:41

@GrandOldDukeOfPorkiness probably - but the only way you'll know is to look at the back of the pack to see how many grams of carbs per 100g.

If it's not on the back of the pack, Google the brand - or try one of the supermarket's websites, as they usually have nutritional information

OP posts:
BIWI · 14/02/2018 19:41

... or try Caffe Nero's website if it's their brand

OP posts:
ilovecherries · 14/02/2018 19:43

I can't remember the carbs in Caffè Nero chocolate, but I DO know it's very high. Bought a bar one day as a treat then wasn't willing to eat it.

TheWayOfTheWorld · 14/02/2018 19:50

At 70% it is probably anywhere between 35g-50g carbs per 100g no I most certainly have not been looking at dark chocolate obsessively trying to find one which is not bitter but relatively low carb, nuh uh
