Morning all Flowers

Here's the spreadsheet of fabulousness for you all

Many thanks to wombattoo and SayrraT for keeping the threads going while I was away.

Lots of people talking about how to deal with future events, especially Christmas, and this is something that's really important to think about. This is a tough time of year for low carbing. But it's also a tough time of year if you can't squeeze into your partywear - so you need to decide which is more important. Those roast potatoes or looking good Wink

Good luck everyone

Wow Pipple, that must have felt good.

Congrats Starsky and thanks for sharing ... Very helpful for me as my starting weight was 12 st 7 so I can compare. I am very interested to hear how you manage maintenance as I'm hoping to be at that stage in the Spring.

I am another whose mood has improved on this woe. I wonder why? Is it the sugar or the alcohol that messes with moods?

chocdog · 15/11/2017 08:59

Well done Mimosa. Virtue rewarded.

Scabbersley · 15/11/2017 09:07

It might not seem like it on here as I am always moaning but my mood has improved also. I definitely feel that I am due a whoosh soon.

FurryTurnip · 15/11/2017 09:25

Congratulations Starsky what a great achievement!

Veryflummoxed · 15/11/2017 09:27

I experimented with a gingerbread tea bag in hot almond milk the other day. It was soooo sweet that the flavour was overpowered, and I then realised we’d picked up the sweetened almond milk by mistake. Going to try it again with the unsweetened stuff, I think it will be good.

Veryflummoxed · 15/11/2017 09:29

And all those people nearly at/at goal, that’s fantastic. Hearing how you maintain will be very interesting.

SoMuchToBits · 15/11/2017 09:34

chocdog, in the past I have tried giving up alcohol for a couple of weeks (but eating carbs), and my mood didn't improve at all. If anything it was worse, because I was trying to fight cravings all the time. So I think it's either the carbs or the combined effect!

cherries, I'm always the person who feels the cold! I hope when I've lost a bit more weight I'm not even colder. Fortunately my house is nice and warm everyone else thinks it's too hot . Grin

Scabbersley · 15/11/2017 09:52

I give up alcohol every Jan and Oct. My mood always improves but I never lose any weight.

I love my bottle of wine shared with dh but I am going to forgo it this week in a desperate attempt to get more than a piddly loss or tiny gain on Monday.

Scabbersley · 15/11/2017 09:52

should have said the wine is on fri and sat only!

Rshard · 15/11/2017 10:00

Thanks scabbersley, I’ll try that next time. I have made the cauliflower base before, that was yummy

ilove, I’ve noticed this too! My feet were freezing yesterday, my toenails had a blueish tinge to them.

Whoop whoop mimosa!

Nice NSV pipple!

ilovecherries · 15/11/2017 10:09

Well done, Mimosa.

GailLondon · 15/11/2017 10:12

Wow I'm so happy to see starsky's result!

I started at 12st in September and am down to 10st 13 now. 9st7 is my absolute dream weight but I wasn't sure if that would be too hard, but maybe I can get there too!

TimeIhadaNameChange · 15/11/2017 10:19

Well, I did it! Was in the gym just after 9 and did the very first session of C25K. I was sweating like a very sweaty thing by the end of it but I didn't use my inhaler at all once I got going and I made it all the way to the end. Walked at 3.8km/h, jogged at 4.4, covered 2km and burnt 202kcals. Not the most impressive workout ever but I'm pleased with it.

GailLondon · 15/11/2017 10:24

Also interestingly, I'm part of an online running group and they started a thread for people trying to lose weight at the same time this bootcamp started.
6 weeks later and I'm the only one who is still loosing weight! everyone else is posting messages like 'tried really hard but gave up after 3 days and ate a 6-pack of crisps'. I don't think its a coincidence that I am the only one doing LCHF while everyone else is doing low fat/slimmimg world etc.
One person posted a recipe for a 'low syn' meal made of a pack of batchelors golden rice mixed with a pack of batchelors pasta! With not even any veg added! That kind of food is 'allowed' in huge portions and people wonder why they aren't loosing weight.
I feel more and more convinced as the weeks go by that LCHF is the answer!

Rshard · 15/11/2017 10:52

gail we could be buddies! I started at 12 stone and am now down to 11 and aiming for 9 stone 7. I think anyway, a bit worried my face might suffer

pimmsy · 15/11/2017 11:23

Hi all,
So many inspiring losses.

B Fried savoy cabbage and lots of coffee
L Poached eggs and spinach and cheese
S Not sure yet as will be going out Probably fish and veg

Scabbersley · 15/11/2017 11:47

That is interesting gaillondon

I do worry about the amount of fat I am eating. I might try and cut down on the animal fat and replace it with other forms. I love olive oil so that's easy. Not sure about the amount of double cream and cheese I seem to be inhaling..

StuntNun · 15/11/2017 13:00

Did anyone watch The Truth About Slim People on channel 4 at the weekend? Despite only having two subjects the findings were pretty useful advice for us:

If you eat more one day then eat less the next. (I interpret this as using intermittent fasting.)
Don't snack between meals. (Consume snack foods as part of a meal, and always eat sitting down from a plate.)
Minimise alcohol consumption.
Get enough exercise.
Get a good night's sleep.

DrDiva · 15/11/2017 13:10

Well done Time for starting your C25k training, great achievement!

Rshard · 15/11/2017 14:19

C25k is brilliant time, the hardest thing is starting so well done you!

78Ash · 15/11/2017 15:04

Just posting to give myself a kick up the bum. Had a bit of a CBA day yesterday (not enough veg for a start) but aiming for a better one today.

Yesterday:
D: Boiled egg, greek yoghurt, handful of walnut pieces, creamy coffee mid afternoon.
T: 2 Boiled eggs, 2 creamy coffees. Not overly hungry and CBA.
Plenty of (hot) water through the day and 2 x black coffees at work.
I'm not a big breakfast eater generally so have kind of slipped into 16:8 (ish) most weekdays.

Today:
D: 2 Boiled eggs, greek yoghurt, creamy coffee.
T: Planning to have rump steak with extra veg (find that easier than worrying about a replacement for chips - haven't been tempted by the celeriac yet). Buttery (or creamy) leeks and green beans from freezer will be a start. Probably have the square of dark chocolate for pudding if I need it.

Struggling to find sensible things (other than eggs) to eat at work - not that I'm sick of them yet (nice big eggs from local farm). So much has sneaky added sugar so it's easier to stick to plain things.

Scabbersley · 15/11/2017 15:37

B: coffee w cream
L: pack of pork scratchings! leftover cauli cheese
D: not sure possibly leftover sheperds pie filling with lots of veg

havent drunk as much water today but still have occasional palpitations. Think its my age!!

GailLondon · 15/11/2017 15:41

I’m another be aiming for 9 st. 7. I'm quite enjoying reading that in a pirate voice DrDiva!
Heres hoping we can all reach our 9st7goal!
