Morning all Flowers

Here's the spreadsheet of fabulousness for you all

Many thanks to wombattoo and SayrraT for keeping the threads going while I was away.

Lots of people talking about how to deal with future events, especially Christmas, and this is something that's really important to think about. This is a tough time of year for low carbing. But it's also a tough time of year if you can't squeeze into your partywear - so you need to decide which is more important. Those roast potatoes or looking good Wink

Good luck everyone

Sorry to interrupt all the deep and meaningful chat but I've just had some cheesy bacon balls (diet doctor site). They are amazing!

Basically mix butter, cream cheese and cheddar together then roll into balls and coat with crumbled crispy bacon.

SoMuchToBits · 14/11/2017 22:11

Mmm, they sound lovely, Sayrra! I've used several recipes from the diet doctor site, and they have all been good.

dataandspot · 14/11/2017 22:22

I really want to cheat.

Been low carbing four months and have lost 3 stone 12. Have been absolutely disciplined with no cheating. Am vegetarian so my low carb choices are more limited than a meat eaters.

All I can think of is having something sweet. I eat but don't feel satisfied from the food.

Help!

SoMuchToBits · 14/11/2017 22:26

Can you have some berries, data, or maybe a small piece of dark chocolate? Would that satisfy the need for something sweet? Sounds like you have done really well so far - it would be a shame to change that now!

TimbuktuTimbuktu · 14/11/2017 22:31

I think LC definitely helps my mood. Although that may be because when I try to diet “normally” I end up in a horrible binge purge cycle which makes me depressed!

Not sure it helps with TOTM though. I still get a bit crazy!

I had too much sugar today and made myself hungry. It was interesting to see how different that blood sugar hunger felt to when I feel hungry normally on this diet (not often) probably had too much dinner to overcompensate but hopefully have upped my fat macros enough to get back in keto quickly.

B- fasting
L- Nando’s 1/2 chicken and salad
S- Japanese red bean paste sweets (colleague had brought them back specially for me and I love them but probably not worth it!)
D- fathead pizza and salad, almond milk hot chocolate made with 2x squares of 85%

I didn’t love the fathead pizza base all that much but I forgot almond flour so made with coconut instead. I’ll try the proper recipe next time.

TimbuktuTimbuktu · 14/11/2017 22:36

Data I made a great rhubarb crumble/fool thing with a bit of 0 carb sweetener.

-Chop stalk rhubarb and stew in microwave with sweetener for 1 min (check and stir) or could use a tiny dash of orange juice maybe.

  • toast handful chopped mixed nuts under grill. (Watch they don’t burn)
  • put rhubarb in small ramekin. Dollop marscapone on top and finish with nuts.

It’s really good.

You can keep going!

Grah0SoontobeaFitty · 14/11/2017 22:51

Hi All Congratulations to all for being here and still KOKO.

@Ilove as I have dropped 2 suitcases totally know what you mean.
But apparently my daughter is being offered time off as I am so thin I must be very sick.. Dentist thought I had cancer and asked my wife which kind.

But moving along,
noticed on many threads people first starting LCHF get anxiety and depressed feelings then go back on medicine or seek counselling. But it might be just fat cell releasing more hormones\chemicals than the addictive brain cells searching for the reward can handle. Just like carb flu and Keto itch, it would be better to either adjust the level of carbs and see if it helps immediately, or wait until week 5 to see if things have naturally adapted to the effects of changes made.

Thanks for comments Earlier Yolo watch for you as well.

Well 3 beers don't equal 6 lb or even 4lb of fat which this weeks early morning weight was up from last week. So assuming it's all water, as nearing maintenance I will be joining @scabbersly thread at the end of bootcamp.

Suppose a target number should be a target range of healthy feelings, we clothes fit and exercises does kill me.

Will worry about that after Christmas.

starsky22 · 14/11/2017 23:19

data I hope you didn't give in, you have done so well! However, if it's something that won't go away, then maybe try a low carb pudding, there are recipes for low carb brownies, mousse, microwave puddings etc, have a google. Just be careful it doesn't lead to you wanting more/binging on sweet things.

Hardly eaten anything today, just not hungry
B latte
L chicken leg with cabbage in creamy cheesy sauce
D none as still full from lunch

Will probably end up doing a 24hr fast now, as I've got a busy morning so won't have time for breakfast and not even sure when I will be able to stop for lunch!

Hippadippadation · 14/11/2017 23:21

Dia welcome lovely. I wish you every success on Bootcamp. Dive right in, we're a friendly bunch.

data if you've not been "cheating" and craving something sweet, probably some raspberries / strawberries / blueberries / all 3 & clotted cream will do the trick. Maybe some dark chocolate grated over the top. Or get yourself a small tub of Oppo ice cream and s.a.v.o.u.r. it. Amazing weightloss, by the way, keep it up!

Timbuktu that rhubarb recipe sounds lush, will have to try it!

starsky22 · 14/11/2017 23:22

Thanks for all the congrats, it is really lovely to have your achievements recognised. Hoping a few others will be reaching their targets soon and then we can start a maintenance thread together.

Oh and I am very keen on a bootcampers meetup in Paris! I only have 48 hrs there, so no way will I get to all the restaurants I want to!

YoLoNovVitMe · 15/11/2017 00:04

Sayrra lol at keeping it meaningful! You reminded me of the Fast Show sketch "cheesy peas"!

On the food front, I made cheesy celeriac mash. And Oh My Dear God I thank You for the Foooood. Had it with Philly cheesesteak and roasted garlic radishes. There was a lot of cheese on my plate in various forms. Heaven. Grin

ChinchillaFur · 15/11/2017 06:10

Starsky that is Amazing! So happy for you. Have a wonderful time in Paris.
My anxiety is much better on this woe. Stopped taking my medication after week 1!

Just logging yesterday:
B 2 HB eggs
L chicken tikka salad
D chicken fahitas on salad with sour cream & cheese
S slice LC cheesecake, nuts & babybel

If craving something sweet or feel like giving up, I recommend making a LC dessert. Lots out there. I have made rhubarb & blackberry crumble, orange cheesecake and chocolate mug cake. They mostly use ground almonds, cocoa, cream cheese etc and definitely do help. Not to be eaten every day though. Eat with a dollop of double cream.

KOKO everyone.

Hippadippadation · 15/11/2017 06:26

Starsky I'm not too far away, neither is Furry and Brassica and maybe Ragz, can't remember who else, sorry if I've missed anyone out. I've lost one of the lbs I put back on over the weekend, so I'm 5lbs away from target, although pretty happy with where I am at the moment.

I'm going on a spa day today with my mum in a hotel, so god knows what food there'll be. I might take some boiled eggs, mini cheeses and nuts in case there isn't anything I can eat. I'm sure it'll cause an argument, but hey ho.

Dinner tonight is spanish chicken thigh bake with olives. Yummers.

Rshard · 15/11/2017 06:47

Have a lovely day at the spa hippa

I made fathead pizza yesterday timbuktu, and wasn’t keen - I don’t think I cooked the base enough so it felt a bit stodgy.

Have a great time in Paris starsky

Welcome dia

Yesterday’s food
B - bacon and buttery eggs
L - fathead pizza - not sure
D - hm fish cakes lettuce rocket cucumber radish mayo

SayrraT · 15/11/2017 06:48

If all of you get to target then I think that might be the most bcers getting to target together that I've seen. Well done!

Veryflummoxed · 15/11/2017 07:03

Definitely going to try that @SayrraT Sounds good for portable food too.

@dataandspot berries and dark chocolate. I find creamy stuff fills the gap. In the summer when everyone was eating icecream I had a little pot of clotted cream in the fridge. Every now and then I’d have some on a tea spoon and lick it slowely.
I know people on here have described making low carb chocolate moose and fat bombs. Ff yogurt with fruit or cinnamon. You have done fantastically well.

Scabbersley · 15/11/2017 07:48

My plan this week is to cut down on the creamy coffees. I've switched mostly to decaff but I've now started to use almond milk (less calories!!) with a scant teaspoon of cream

prettybird · 15/11/2017 07:55

I'll need to have a look at Nigella's mousse always up for new chocolate based recipes Grin - but also, for those that are interested, have a look at my recipe for chocolate and cardamom pots (mousse) which just use the juice of one orange amongst 8 wee pots to sweeten. I also now use 50ml cream and 50ml milk rather than the 100ml milk in the recipe (tried it with 100% cream but felt it was a bit dense). They're in the recipe thread. Smile

SoMuchToBits · 15/11/2017 08:01

Hippa, what's in your Spanish chicken thigh bake, please (as well as olives)? It sounds like a good alternative to our Tuesday surprise - I could really surprise ds next week!

I think lunch will be some kind of omelette today, and dinner will probably feature salmon (Fish Man day).

Scabbersley · 15/11/2017 08:17

rshard when I made the fathead pizza base I turned it over and cooked the other side for 5 mins. Mine was too sloppy to start with but it was delicious!

Is there a cauliflower pizza base that works??

Thiswillbemyusername · 15/11/2017 08:27

Morning happy campers.

I'm really l starting to acquire a taste for almond- things. When I first had its milk in my coffee it tasted weird, but now I find it works well. It's not as indigestion-y as double cream, and it's unsweetened so very few carbs!

ilovecherries · 15/11/2017 08:39

I have discovered the one downside of being smaller. I'm bloody FREEZING. I was always, always the hot person in the room. I went around flinging open windows and turning down the thermostat. Today I'm going to buy some thermals!

PippleBang · 15/11/2017 08:47

ilovecherries I'm still pretty big but I am really feeling the cold at the moment! More so than usual.

One of the Director General's who works for my boss just complimented the outfit I'm wearing (black dress and a waist belt) and said "you can REALLY see the weight loss", which has put a big smile on my face! I then popped into my bosses office and she said the same Grin finally at the stage where other people are noticing (although these two did already know I am trying to lose weight, so not sure if they would have noticed if I hadn't mentioned anything).

Wh0KnowsWhereTheTimeG0es · 15/11/2017 08:53

Thiswill - I'm really enjoying almond milk in tea, less so in coffee, it's drinkable but not great. Cream isn't much better either, I am really missing a proper latte.

Mimosa1 · 15/11/2017 08:56

A woosh! A woosh! Finally. 1kg down on the scales yesterday and it stuck today - after 2.5 weeks of zip. Im so glad because very nearly ordered a gigantic Xmas cookie at EAT yesterday but remembered how pleased is been that morning, and had a tuna salad instead. If things hadn't moved, I expect I'd have thought "sod it".
