Bootcampers get toned...

A thread for those of us wanting to tone up a bit after the weight loss!
I've downloaded the 30 day an challenge app mentioned on the BC thread. Also going to do push ups as I was getting better at these until I gave up my martial arts lessons. One day I will do a full one, still only able to go halfway down...

Stupid man on the Internet :(

TimbuktuTimbuktu · 09/11/2017 13:50

Well I’ve done shred l2 day 1 which was a killer! I’m really bad at all the stuff in plank position. Then I did day 5 and and thighs and a 4K run.

Every part of my body now hurts!

I have also been feeling a bit dizzy and I suspect my electrolytes are a bit messed up- especially after drinking last night so I am off for an Epsom salt bath with a mug of boullion.

starsky22 · 09/11/2017 19:39

I've just done day 6, didn't want to, but thought it would be a bit rubbish to bow out after only 5 days!

I also put my hands under my bum! I tried it without today and instead didn't lower my legs as far and can definitely feel it in my abs more, so will try and do more that way!

SayrraT · 09/11/2017 20:39

D6 completed!

Gammeldragz · 09/11/2017 21:04

Just done day 6, after 12.5 hours at work Halo
Managed 45 sit-ups without stopping but the leg raises requires several breaks! I even tried the hands under bum method for the last few, definitely makes it easier but feel like cheating!

I've never stuck to anything like this for 6 days before (I've downloaded and delete many similar apps over the years!).
It is definitely due to the thread here and having you all on the journey together. So thank you all for posting - and well done! Flowers

You are a machine ragz! Well done

Rshard · 10/11/2017 07:06

Kudos ragz🙌

Rshard · 10/11/2017 07:07

I have to confess to going back to level 1 but I’m going to ignore the rest days to catch up

ClearEyesFullHearts · 10/11/2017 10:22

I think I might have to start over. Can't face catching up. Blush

TimeIhadaNameChange · 10/11/2017 11:37

SayrraT - Whereabouts in Scotland?????

(Love horseriding but have never been able to afford it other than the occasional hack If I win the lottery I will take lessons, but in the meantime, if you're anywhere near me (you won't be, mind) I'll come and ride your horses!)

SayrraT · 10/11/2017 11:41

time I'm in south Lanarkshire.

starsky22 · 10/11/2017 11:48

Day 7 done, determined to keep going with this!

TimeIhadaNameChange · 10/11/2017 12:04

You're safe, SayrraT - I'm off the west coast. Shame, that would have been so much fun!

SayrraT · 10/11/2017 12:27

Whereabouts? I used to keep my horses near Largs.

Well done starsky I find it's easier to do in the evening. BTW, is your name star sky or starsky?

Gammeldragz · 10/11/2017 15:07

I'll be doing mine this evening too. Probably once children are in bed. Didn't want to break myself before I get stuff done today!

OP posts:
TimbuktuTimbuktu · 10/11/2017 15:55

Good plan Gammeldragz! I have done mine this morning and am feeling well and truly broken now. Day 6 and plus shred day 11. Ouch!

It’s like every time I move my abs are saying “hey bitch, remember us!”

I think my pooch is diminishing slightly though.

starsky22 · 10/11/2017 16:03

On my work days I'm doing it in the evenings, but trying for morning on days off, it's nice to have it done!

SayrraT it's starsky as in starsky and hutch

SayrraT · 10/11/2017 20:00

starsky that's how I've been saying it in my head but then I think someone on the main thread called you star so then I thought maybe I was wrong.

Gammeldragz · 10/11/2017 20:50

Day 7 done. 50 sit ups... Just realised if we are at 50 now, how bad is it going to be in a week or two?! Do feel like I'm getting stronger though, couldn't have managed 50 a week ago.

OP posts:
SayrraT · 10/11/2017 21:25

L1 d7 is 40 sit ups, I think it increases by 5 each time so will we be at 180??!!

prettybird · 10/11/2017 21:32

Hadn't seen this thread yes I know it was mentioned as being set up on the Boot Camp thread Blush

I'm not going to RTFT - at least not all of it Grin

I'm not doing the 30 Day Challenge (although I did one 3 or 4 years ago Wink) but I am currently doing Ripped, having worked through the Shred since (I think) August.

Level 2 of the Shred is the worst one of the three IMHO Shock. I hate the chair squats with v flies. I also hate the plank aerobic exercises.

I'm currently on Level 2 of Ripped (Day 3 - doing 5 days per level). I really dislike the aerobics in Level 1 ( fast plank jacks, followed by mountain climbers for which I barely manage to bring the one leg up to my chest, only separating my feet by about a foot and getting slower and slower and then repeated ShockHmm and Angry

BIWI · 10/11/2017 21:37

Brilliant thread! Grin

I started back on the C25K 3 weeks before I went away, but didn't do anything while I was on holiday so don't think I can start where I left off without killing myself.

Back to the gym with my PT tomorrow and he's already promised me that it's going to hurt Hmm

Rshard · 11/11/2017 06:42

Missed abs challenge yesterday so going to attempt two today.

SayrraT · 11/11/2017 08:15

Me too rshard we can do it together.

Gammeldragz · 11/11/2017 09:08

Rest day for me (day 8). Yes I'm rather worried we'll get up to the hundreds, that would take hours!
