Bootcampers get toned...

A thread for those of us wanting to tone up a bit after the weight loss!
I've downloaded the 30 day an challenge app mentioned on the BC thread. Also going to do push ups as I was getting better at these until I gave up my martial arts lessons. One day I will do a full one, still only able to go halfway down...

What happens when we finish the 30 days (see how I am thinking positively!)? Can we enter a maintaining phase? Or do we have to go straight on to level 2???

ClearEyesFullHearts · 07/11/2017 13:47

Harlots I think either doing a week at day 30 of Level 1 or going straight to level 2 would be good.

Don't know what happens, the app might have some advice upon completion.

ClearEyesFullHearts · 07/11/2017 13:48

Haven't done mine today yet as had Pilates and quietly feeling that while having lunch. Hmm

Rshard · 07/11/2017 13:51

Think of switching to level 1!
Ran at lunchtime. In the rain, I normally would have wimped out but just did it smyway

Rshard · 07/11/2017 13:51

*anyway - ffs!

HarlotsWeb · 07/11/2017 19:36

Just finished day 6. It's bugging me slightly that I am not on the same day as the date. I would consider skipping a rest day, except I am looking forward so much to the next one.

Finding that some exercises get easier and some get more difficult, day from day. And it is never the same!

SayrraT · 08/11/2017 08:03

D5 today! Going to do it later, I've also got badminton at lunch time so might do it then when I'm in gym gear.

Rest day for Larry so no riding.

HarlotsWeb · 08/11/2017 13:16

Is that your horse's name? Awww.

Was wondering whether I could fit onto the floor space in the office loos, but I think it would just be too tight. And also a bit grubby.

HarlotsWeb · 08/11/2017 14:12

I may or may not have just done a 30 second plank wedged diagonally across the loo floor...

SayrraT · 08/11/2017 14:56

Yes, I love his name (wasn't me that named him) it really suits him.

I've done my sit ups but need to do the rest later on.

Feeling my thighs today after metafit and riding but I think badminton eased them off. My legs don't need toning though, I don't want to look like an apple on a stick Grin

HarlotsWeb · 08/11/2017 16:49

Does anyone else need to do the sit-ups in batches? Have got forty to do today, and I have to do them ten at a time. And possibly five at a time at the end.

Rshard · 08/11/2017 16:53

I can do the sit-ups, it’s the crunches that I hate

HarlotsWeb · 08/11/2017 17:17

Day 7 done. And (oh hallelujah!) a day off tomorrow!

Gammeldragz · 08/11/2017 18:47

Day 5 done. Didn't think I could, but I did. Had to do the leg raises in batches. I fin if I count up to halfway then countdown it seems to make it easier psychologically.
How is everyone getting on with the cobras? They seem too easy I feel I'm not doing it right. I'm fine with the crunches but the sit-ups and leg raises kill me. I did take short breaks in the sit-ups.

OP posts:
HarlotsWeb · 08/11/2017 19:16

I don't have cobras in mine, gammeldragz. Are you doing level 2?

SayrraT · 08/11/2017 20:21

No cobras in level 1 ragz

D5 done, sit ups are getting easier Confused when will the 6 pack appear?

starsky22 · 08/11/2017 22:02

Rest day today for me, but I did go to pilates. Measured myself yesterday, I'm pretty much the same as I was last time I measured, 2 weeks ago, how am I not toned after doing a whole 4 days of exercise!

Gammeldragz · 08/11/2017 22:14

Ahh, yes doing level two (no longer smug, just sore). Just checked level 1 and it isn't much less than 2, apart from no cobras and slightly fewer reps.
I'm sure I'm getting worse at the sit-ups. One day was not enough recovery time! The jump up in reps each day is quite harsh I find.

TimbuktuTimbuktu · 08/11/2017 22:18

Oh it’s the sit ups that kill me. I can do crunches or leg raises all day but the bloody sit ups!

Tomorrow is shred l2 day 1, abs day 5& thighs AND 30 mins run in my half marathon planner. I feel like I may have taken too much on.

And I am now terrified of shred l2

I am going away again tomorrow and my new hotel doesn’t have a gym. Is it ridiculous to fly with weights?!

Gammeldragz · 09/11/2017 05:50

Timbuktu could you use bottles of water or something instead?

OP posts:
SayrraT · 09/11/2017 07:33

Yes, that's a good idea ragz!

D6 half done, still got my sit ups to do but my abs hurt so I'll do them later.

Whose idea was this Angry Grin

HarlotsWeb · 09/11/2017 08:53

You know the leg raises? I have to tuck my thumbs under my bum to be able to do it. Is that cheating? I just can't manage it at all with my hands flapping free.

SayrraT · 09/11/2017 09:01

I do that too harlots it keeps my back flat, if I take them out I arch.

Any experts?

TimbuktuTimbuktu · 09/11/2017 09:33

That’s a good idea Regis.

I do the hands thing too. This man on the internet says no. However I’m not sure my abs will obey!

Rshard · 09/11/2017 10:45

I also put my hands under my bum for the leg raises
