Good morning Flowers

So the last thread reached 1000 posts. I don't think that's ever happened on any other Bootcamp! It's a really good sign that everyone is engaged in the process, even if it's not always been from a positive place. If things aren't working for you, please keep reading and posting - even if you just lurk, hopefully the support and advice here will be helpful for you.

But it's a glorious day again, and the sun is shining brightly already and the birds are singing their hearts out. I hope that this translates into positivity and optimism for all of us this week - even if you've been struggling!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

We're past the dreaded weeks 4 and 5 now, so hopefully things will start to get going in the right direction, and you should see the weight move downwards - assuming, of course, that you aren't cheating or allowing carb creep.

Good luck everyone

And welcome, mouse!

wombattoo · 23/06/2017 08:20

Welcome Mouse Thanks
Have a read through the threads. You will see that we have posters with a wide range of disabilities and on medication who seem to managing.
Feel free to ask if you have any questions but have a read of the tabs on the spreadsheet. There is some great reading on there.
Oh, and step away from the grapes! they are like little sugar cubes Grin

ChesterDrawers · 23/06/2017 08:21

OldBooks DH will give me a general 'you look nice' if I've made an effort when we're going out but he's not one for big emotional displays so would never comment on my eyes or anything like that. I know he loves me, he's just not built that way. It's not that I think I'm some hideous beast, I'm just a bit meh really, nothing particularly outstanding, and when I think of all my bits in isolation, I can think of million reasons why they are awful.

Today's plan looks a bit like this:
B: eggs, butter, cream
L: Some kind of salad with olive oil
D: Fathead pizza - can't wait

BIWI · 23/06/2017 08:28

Welcome mouseface! Lovely to see you here - I know you from Facebook too Wink, so know your situation and how difficult it can be for you.

Just a pointer, in case you don't realise, grapes are definitely not allowed on Bootcamp, and carrots really should be occasional rather than regular.

I'm not a wild fan of any bits of my body at the moment - largely because it's ageing and I don't like being older!

But I do like what I can do with my body, and the fact that it's fit and healthy

As well as the aforementioned deadlift PB, my PB for planking is 6 minutes. (I can't do that now, but I start my PT sessions with a plan of 3 minutes, and then intersperse my training with various different types of plank (hip touch, superman, side lift) that I do for 'only' a minute at a time Grin

Aww Chester from BC threads we ask know that you are kind and supportive. It makes me sad that you can't think of anything you like about yourself.

I survived food wise very well at the Highland show, I had black pudding and bacon for breakfast, numerous bits of cheese and meat in the food hall then spaghetti bolognese without spaghetti for dinner. Unfortunately I ended up with a very bad headache and had to drive home it was horrendous. Went to bed at 8 ish and I've just woken up.

wombattoo · 23/06/2017 08:34

BIWI Planking for 6 WHOLE MINUTES!

SayrraT · 23/06/2017 08:36

Shock BIWI you are a machine! If I try to plank I'll be shaking after 30 secs (if not before).

wombattoo · 23/06/2017 08:38

I hope you feel better today Sayrra Thanks

It feels like bragging but, I have very smooth, soft skin. Sometimes friends have touched my arm and they comment on it. I was at a social gathering when a friend laid a hand on my arm, mentioned how soft it was and started saying to everyone 'come feel how smooth wombat's arm is'. I stood there whilst people stroked my arms Blush Grin

OldBooks c4 & the other midlands ladies, I'm not sure about a group PM, but if you all pm me your mobile numbers I can set up a whatsapp group?

OhTheRoses · 23/06/2017 08:41

What's planking?
Gentle Pilates is my limit.
My bra didn't feel too tight this morning.
I dream about having a BMI of 24 nameless

Day 10. Can I eat broad beans? Am Guessing not.

Naschkatze · 23/06/2017 08:42

Secret Aha, iron could be it, thanks. I haven't been taking my pregnancy/breastfeeding supplements, because I keep forgetting Confused I will start up again and see if that helps.

StuntNun · 23/06/2017 08:46

Mandelinka the reason we have to eat so much fat is to replace the calories from carbs. If you're cutting your carbs from 250g (1000 calories) to 50g (200 calories) per day then you make up some of the difference (800 calories) by increasing your fat intake from 50g (450 calories) to 100g (900 calories) per day. That still leaves you with a net reduction of 350 calories per day which your body has to make up from your fat stores. Note that these are approximate figures, it will vary between different people. By reducing insulin levels we become able to easily access our fat stores so the body's calorie requirements are met. On a low calorie but high carb diet, insulin levels remain high so it is much harder to use fat stores for energy. The body takes the easy way out and reduces metabolic rate to use up fewer calories, AND starts to use up muscle mass as an additional source of energy. They are completely different weight loss methods, don't let anyone tell you that a low carb diet only works by cutting calories, it is the free access to fat stores that makes this way of eating so much more effective, and easier too. You aren't hungry all the time on this WOE because your calorie needs are being met, it's just that they're met by a combination of food intake and body fat stores.

NamelessEnsign · 23/06/2017 08:51

roses planking is sort of a held push up, usually resting on elbows, straight body like a plank. Amazing free exercise for your core and it only takes a minute of your day - no need for sports kit!

StuntNun · 23/06/2017 08:52

Nasch I sometimes feel lacking in energy and bone broth picks me up suggesting it's electrolytes.

Glad to be of service Lurk! We did have a nice picnic thank you. Better still my two youngest got well worn out running about in the sun and both slept through the night!

Welcome to Mouse.

No to the broad beans I'm afraid, Roses.

wombattoo · 23/06/2017 08:52

Roses planking = imagine you are doing a push up. On the 'up' you hold your body in a straight line for as long as you can. Even when I was relatively fit, my entire body would shake and collapse after 50 seconds.

NamelessEnsign · 23/06/2017 08:53

And BMI 24 - you can get there if you KOKO! With my build it is still on the large size. I get chub rub unless I am a size 6-8 😳

TimeIhadaNameChange · 23/06/2017 09:07

I have FINALLY hit my first half stone loss!!!!! Am so, so damn pleased.

It's been a long time coming. I lost three pounds in the first week but since then have fluctuated between 10st10 and 10st12, with no correlation between how much I ate and what the scales said. I know my jeans have gotten rather loose around the waist now (tried on my size 10s and I can do them up, but the muffin top is a full sized gateau!) but I was getting annoyed that the numbers haven't been going down. I'd like to think it's partly because I have been building muscle with my random 9 mile bike-rides (doesn't sound far but there are HILLS involved!) but I fear TOM and having to eat gluten for a week hasn't helped.

But now, finally, the numbers are on the way down again. Am so happy!!!

NamelessEnsign · 23/06/2017 09:10

Time I'm a similar weight and just hit an 8lb loss yesterday, having started a week ahead of BC. Guess BIWI. Was right about slow weeks 3 & 4!

BIWI · 23/06/2017 09:17

I'm always right about weeks 3 & 4, but nobody ever believes me! Grin

Delighted to be my goal 9 stone again but wobbly love handles ruin the silhouette Angry

HemanOrSheRa · 23/06/2017 09:27

Morning!

I've been trying to think of my best feature C4. Struggling to be honest. I have nice feet Confused. My face is alright but very fat. I do have the ability to talk absolute shite for hours to people I've never met before. Is that a good thing?! Grin. When DS was tiny he'd ask me 'Who is that Mummy? Are they your friend?' I'd say ' No love, I've never met them before but weren't they lovely?' Now he is 12 it's a source of much embarrassment for him Grin.

DudeHatesHisCarryOut · 23/06/2017 09:28

It was more the case it has been weeks 2, 3 and 4, BIWI!

PlymouthMaid1 · 23/06/2017 09:37

Waves at VeryFlummoxed as a fellow West Country dweller. Am feeling sorry for self today as have a painful neck and shoulder probably from sleeping with the window open when it was hot. So breakfast was creamy coffee and two slices of Emmenthal plus two ibuprofen

JiminnyCricket · 23/06/2017 09:38

Morning Smile

Magic happened last night. My lovely trout and asparagus planned dinner turned into KFC 4 hotwings and 3 mini fillets Blush

In my defense, it was out of convenience not cravings. I had a ton of stuff to get done at home i wanted to spend the evening gaming on my new laptop, DP was out so it was just me I was going to cook for and I really, really couldnt be bothered.

I'm ok with it to be honest. It was 27g carbs in total so took me over my daily amount by 13g, but all week I've had no appitite and I've been averaging 1065 calories a day according to MFP which is WAY too low. My carb average is 23g too even including yesterdays slip up.

Gym tonight, it's a hell session and my PT will be with me in the group class. Weekend days are both rest days (need to do 10km walk over the 2 days but that's fine) and I'm very much looking forward to the 2 day break. No plans this weekend either, DP is working so I actually get some time to myself to play with my laptop more Grin
