Well done hammer and black tea! I was just thinking yesterday about trying my engagement ring on - I took it off when pregnant with DS 6 years ago and it's not fitted since... Need to find it first Shock

I'm very much hovering around the same 6-7 pounds lost (but I could see this as a pound a week which is actually quite sensible!) but body-wise I've changed a lot too hammer, I need a belt for jeans as they keep falling down Smile

Gcalgske · 02/03/2016 09:48

Yay Neko and Blacktea!

Well done too hammer, must learn to finish reading before posting!

Oh moan I've been there, nibbling sandwich fillings Hmm. Hope you enjoyed the burger.

I think it's cause I'm bigger but I'm always self conscious of eating 'differently' in front of people. Especially at business things (back when I worked), I really didn't want to draw attention to myself, plus in oil and gas it's totally male dominated so I'd be the only woman and not wanting comments.

Neko I sometimes get the metallic taste too - it usually means I'm in ketosis I think? I'm definitely ok for electrolytes, at least I think so. Always plenty of salt on my food (I use LoSalt and also the pink himalayan kind, not sure why but I think I once read it was good)!

thanks for encouragement everyone. Well done everyone losing, and if you aren't, you will do! I have had quite a few weeks of STS.

Gcalgske · 02/03/2016 13:30

I know wand, it's my insecurity but there was always at least one doing the whole 'little lady' bit already. Feminism hadn't made many inroads into the boardrooms of the company's I was working with (some were great though) so I'd just drink coffee (and that would normally be commented on)

So glad I'm a SAHM now. It's much much easier to low carb if you can knock together a quick lunch. I found portable foods the most difficult. Although now have a toddler smashing fruit and biscuits into my face...

sounds horrible Gcal and Wand - I've no idea how I would react to that kind of comment. I'd probably just get all flustered.

LexLoofah · 02/03/2016 14:01

way to go tea and hammer, that's brill

3rd and final day of Uber BC, some subs depending on what I have in but confident still in at the v low carb counts:

B - smoked salmon, 2 soft steamed eggs mashed in a cup with butter - I had forgotten how good this is and how great steaming the eggs is, 2 x tea with unsweetened almond milk
L - tin of sardines in tomato sauce (1.9g carbs the whole thing), spinach in butter, 2 eggs fried in the pan with the sardines. twinings nutty choc tea with almond milk in lieu of choc and I had a BPC mid-morning
D - will be the pork shoulder that is slow cooking in a low oven (from diet doctor, everyone else will have juce gravy with cream, I'll just have some of the pan juice), swede mashed with butter, cabbage in butter

now I have to resist the urge to weight in immediately and be careful not to over compensate with free reign, well BC Lite, tomorrow

oh and have just spent half an hour on pinterest looking at ideas for DS's Cubs camp cake that I have to make, it is just not fair is it?

Stayed the same on Monday which is fine given my mood at the moment.

Next week we learn if dh's cancer has gone so I'm really not in the headspace at the moment. I'm not gorging on junk but I'm not fancying cooking or eating much and so just managing as I can. I think then it's best if I drop out of this bootcamp, and hopefully be in a happier and more positive state of mind for the next one.

Koko everyone and I hope to join up with you all again next time round xx

shouldiblowthewhistle · 03/03/2016 07:00

Hi everyone,

I still weigh 15.10 (net loss of 2lbs in 8 and a half weeks). I went down to 15.6 on Monday morning but the next day was straight back up.

I read an interesting article about how our fat cells might be losing fat, but replacing this with water until a whoosh. I'm hanging on to this as my solution. please whoosh fairy come and visit thy magic upon me

Today
Breakfast: Coffee w almond milk
Spinach smoothie with almond milk and coconut oil

Lunch: Pork meatballs in a tomato and bacon sauce with loads of butter thrown in

Dinner: Salmon steak with veges. Topped with butter.

I'm now cutting dairy (except butter) to see if that will have an impact.

Flowers guy

Well done shouldi - keep going and may the whoosh fairy visit soon!

BIWI would you pls give me any comments on my food yesterday (doing 16:8) -

Lunch: 2 scrambled eggs in butter and finished up some leftover homemade green vegetable soup. Then a ramekin of chia pudding made with almond milk, vanilla essence, double cream, and 5 raspberries.
Snack- Coconut oil fat bomb containing grated 90% choc and desiccated no sugar coconut
Dinner - roasted red cabbage steak with feta cheese
Then another ramekin sized chia pudding.
Lots of water.

NigellasGuest · 03/03/2016 08:03

Oh yes the red cabbage steak also had butter fried leaks with it

StuntNun · 03/03/2016 09:22

KeepOn if you're feeling cold then try taking your temperature. If it's persistently lower than normal it can indicate a thyroid issue which would mean you would need to increase your carb intake a little.

ShouldI please can you link to that article. An easy way to tell when you've lost fat but not weight is by measuring your waist and hips. I can lose half an inch to an inch without my weight changing at all. The whoosh fairy usually arrives some time later on.
