Morning all.

On a train now and access to Google docs is blocked, so I can't link to the spreadsheet I'm afraid. So if someone else could do that I'd be very grateful.

Breakfast at Leon this morning so a good low carb start to the day. Two poached eggs and truffled ham hock.

Good luck to everyone this week and thanks for all your good wishes. Forgive me if I'm not around and posting that much this week.

Oh! How strange! I was just mulling over dita's suggestion of greek salad, which is a great idea as I always enjoy more it if it's made well in advance as all the oil and juices mingle and I like to sip them from a spoon Grin. But I started to miss chickpeas, hummus and FALAFEL. And then you post a Fauxlafel recipe Gcalgske! Thank you both!

I may do some aubergines slow fried in oil, garlic and mint as well and I have a lovely bbq greek chicken recipe which I can oven bake the night before and have cold. That with some berries and cream is me sorted! DS will probably stuff his face with sweets and ice cream and be too busy to eat. But he does like the chicken, so he can have that stuffed in a pitta.

Good luck this afternoon dita!

Can someone please update the sheet for me with 231? I haven't lost weight in a couple of weeks and this week was ds's birthday so there was cake but I'm back at work now so kicking ass at water drinking! My hormones are all over the place I swear but my blood sugar is still stable. I'm lighter than I was in early pregnancy but I'm bigger and my ankles are swollen so I think I'm holding onto a lot of water which I think is a side effect of my bp meds Sad So I'm a bit fed up. At least before I was heavier but more toned.

Hope everyone is doing well.

patapouf you can send me some gammon, sounds lovely.

Had to fast this morning as I had a scan to rule out gall stones (I bloody knew it wasn't bloody gall stones Hmm) so did two bpc early on - one decaf one normal - and then for lunch at 1.30 ate some salaminis from asda with a pot of their egg mayo and an avocado. Dinner was three lamb chops, fried in butter and rosemary and garlic with a vegetable side dish consisting of chopped up aubergine, courgette, fine green beans and baby corn in a couple of spoonfuls of chopped tomato with chilli and garlic and lashings of salty butter. Very tasty.

About to start my third litre of water now, so think have done good.

Have got a tell tale pimple so think I'm at what should be my period. Plus when I looked at my feet they were distinctly chunky and poofy looking. Have got a sitty down day at work tomorrow, so with ask if I can raise my feet Grin

Getting bloods done too tomorrow. Am very curious as to their outcome. Reckon it'll be about a week til I know....

trash I love ACV in water, it is so refreshing isn't it? Haven't tried it warm yet though will remember that. Hope your tests get the bottom of your symptoms so it can be sorted.

Last day at work today after 10 years, left without blubbing, very anti climatic really.

b - shrooms and 2 eggs in garlic butter, cuppa
L - smoked mackerel, 3 soft boiled eggs, cucumber, olives, 2 sq dark choc
D - bbq chicken, cucumber, hm mayo as didn't do yesterday as chicken not quite defrosted so had cold meat and cheese instead

Tonight will be doing more sorting and packing as shippers coming tomorrow so will be too busy to eat any more later

Lex remind me what's going on in your life? You're moving countries aren't you? But I've forgotten the details.

I have just got in from helping deliver a baby! Mercifully quick too. Got summons at two and baby born at four twenty. Little boy. Bloody brilliant. Was starving so ate few nuts, an avocado and some salami (really quickly cos she didn't hang about and squeamish dh in corridor!)

I ended up eating something I shouldnt last night as I was so hungry and the only thing I could get was a sandwich.
My new placement is lovely, but I am exhausted and after tommorow I have to work 8 days straight to make up the hours I missesd Sad
I am doing short shifts which I hate but at least I should get my eating sorted out ok.

Feel a bit out of touch with this thread - can't remember when I last posted!

Had a crazy busy day yesterday with more than 6hrs spent on a train for a meeting which didn't actually last more than 45mins!!

Have also had car stress this week - my knackered money pit of a car failed its mot on Monday so have hurriedly bought another car, older than the last, but with fewer miles on the clock, and a full mot! not something I was planning on doing but at least it's now sorted having done the part exchange today!

And added to all that, DD1 now has the bug that DD2 brought home last Thursday so I have been at her side all day, whilst juggling car crap. Dh has been really poorly with it too so I am just bracing myself, hoping that regular intake of Greek yogurt and coyo will have strengthened my stomach somehow??!

Anyway, food....

Yesterday:
B - ff Greek, coyo, berries
L - salad with feta and avocado and leaves, plus calamari and prawns, with a yogurt minty dressing
D - another salad, this time with leaves, mozzarella and salami

Today:
B - ff Greek, coyo, berries
L - salad including feta, leaves, oily dressing and then this amazing Tunisian aubergine salad that mum had made. It's from delia's vegetarian cookbook apparently and is delicious.
D - not sure. Dh is now recovering but still doesn't fancy proper food so I will see what I can concoct. I might make Jamie Oliver's ricotta fritters with courgette salad, but not sure I can be arsed!!

trash wow quick delivery good job. Yes moving from Cayman Islands back to the UK after 10 years and two DCs so have significantly more crap than we moved out with. Shippers been and gone, house is all echoey without our stuff even with furnitur still here, DCs being remarkably chilled about it.

Good news is I have a big bag for Charity shop and small one for consignment store of clothes that no longer fit me as in they are too biG!

The less good news is that my rings keep slipping off even though I have the little balls inside to keep them on and will be worse when it gets colder so will have to get them made smaller after having them cut off ( yes as embarrassing as it sounds) and made bigger a few years ago, I put it all down to fingers swelling in the heat but of course it was carb induced swelling

Wow trash she didn't hang about, wish you'd been my midwife Grin

Lex good luck with the big move, hope the weather is still warm when you arrive to help you settle in!

I felt like crap yesterday, the only thing out of the ordinary that I ate was a few slices of salami from the farmers market. The ingredients list looked harmless but I blew up like a balloon, sore guts, farts, weird "hollow" feeling, eeugh!

I fasted till lunch time and have eaten safe stuff and drunk loads and ... There's a bat flying round my frigging living room! Shock

trashcanjunkie · 01/07/2015 23:32

Grin peppermint... I love birth partnering, but I don't think I'd cope as a proper midwife. I take my hat off to them, they were so lovely. Sympathise with the gut pains, although as I'm getting proper investigations done, typically mine are quite at the moment - for which I'm eternally grateful. It may or may not be something to do with the large amounts of codeine I'm having to take this week for my stupid foot. Wtaf is a bat doing in your house.....? Confused

lex I'm in mourning for you leaving the Cayman Islands. Having severe wanderlust for the last 18 years doesn't help. It sounds so exotic and warm (I know it's bloody stifling here atm, but oop North we aren't culturally set up for this. There are nanas still wandering about in winter coat and fur lined booties)

What can you say about the rings, it's just one of those things!

Gcalske your lunch looks properly tasty. I have to take breakfast and lunch when I do the assessment day on the 16th of this month. Can't do dairy still so am going for egg mayo with something for breakfast, and seeing yours, probably some really nice seared salmon with stuff for lunch. Mmmmm

So, had a bpc for breakfast, then had a cancellation so was free. Had bloods done by nurse, popped in to see new baby now friend has gone home, then managed to get a few hours catch up sleep this afternoon, ate shell on prawns and crayfish tails with mayonnaise for lunch before hand, and dinner was a little gem in oily dressing, a lamb chop and some leftover meatballs in a bit of tomato sauce. Aaah it hit the spot Grin

Had a tea with hazelnut milk, and caned three plus litres water.

Ooh also, I decided to take my measurements yesterday, so will weigh and measure self every Thursday morning, as the students out early and I have no school run.

Sorry for my incoherent babbling.

I'm thinking the bat came down the chimney. I was just sat there farting about on MN and then there it was flying round the ceiling! I opened the window and it flew out but the dog just about scratched a hole in the door trying to follow it!

trash no need to mourn well not for us anyway, happy to be leaving and heading back to blighty. It is too hot here and humid too but yes warm when we arrive would be nice, let it get cold gradually for the kids sake, they were born here and not a hardy northerner like me so will get a shock come cold bathroom time.

Thanks peppermint, you were remarkably calm about the bat, I would have freaked out!

Chilli was lovely, even put sq dark choc in, several portions in this freezer now for DH who will be staying on for a few months, will be interesting to see if we will stick to LCHF without me shopping and cooking

I've lost another 2lbs in the past 2 days. I don't know if this will help anyone but I decided to restrict my calories to 1,300 which isn't too restrictive for me, I'm only short and very small framed, after only losing a pound in the last 2 weeks and feeling like I've stalled.

I've strictly kept my macros to 80% fat 15% protein 5% carbs and its really worked for me. I don't feel hungry, have more than enough to eat and can feel the weight dropping off now.

If I exercise I've only eaten back half the exercise calories but it's meant some days I've had up to 1,500 to eat and that's too much for me to stomach. I'm more relaxed about the calories than the macros but sadly I think calories do matter, especially when you're at the last stretch. It's very easy to stray into the 3,000 calorie plus territory on this diet if you're as much as a cream monster as I am and no matter how in ketosis you are an excess calorie is just that.

Yesterday's food

B coffee with cream and almond milk, 2 small slices of almond bread with butter and peanut butter
L 1 egg omelette with Portobello mushroom, butter and coconut oil
S slim noodles, courgette, garlic, mushrooms, chicken breast and egg fried in coconut oil with chilli and spices.

Love the new baby pics, I'm due to start Clomid next month.
Koko everyone!

Stonefoxmama, is there a website you use to calculate the macros?

Yup myfitnesspal, you can set you're macros and calories manually and its surprisingly easy to stick to or tweak accordingly. It also tells you the carb count for foods.

It's definitely true that calories count as you get nearer to your target, but for those who aren't there yet, don't stress about calories. Just make sure that you're eating properly , I.e. Fat:protein:carbs, and drinking all the water

OP posts:
Report
StoneFoxMama · 02/07/2015 12:17

I had a sneaking suspicion it would be the case, but the good news is when I didn't restrict calories at all and I'm sure some days were laden with an excess of 2-3,000 (which is a lot when you are 5ft nothing) I maintained or lost a pound slowly so it's not all doom and gloom when you get nearer your target, plus you are well adjusted to not feel so hungry anyway so it's easier.

Looking forward to the last few pounds going now that I know what I'm doing, I hope it happens before my month in France in August.
