Morning all.

On a train now and access to Google docs is blocked, so I can't link to the spreadsheet I'm afraid. So if someone else could do that I'd be very grateful.

Breakfast at Leon this morning so a good low carb start to the day. Two poached eggs and truffled ham hock.

Good luck to everyone this week and thanks for all your good wishes. Forgive me if I'm not around and posting that much this week.

Gcalgske I thought I'd get away with the milk, cos I never went on the BClite. I can't stomach coffee with almond, soya or coconut milk, it's vile. I can't stomach work without coffee!

Still it's something to try, I'll ditch all dairy and see if that helps. I'm at 23 BMI and I think my body just wants to stop right here thank you very much - but I'm still too lumpy!

I know I can shift more if I go VLCD but I love not feeling hungry on this WOE so don't want to go there.

Bye, cheese, bye, coffee, it's been lovely...Hmm

X-post Trashcan. Caffeine is bad? Well I never. Totally missed that one!

I'm eating off my smallest-sized-but-still-a-dinner plate. I didn't want to weigh everything, but maybe I should. Or go down to a side plate.

Buggery bollocks.

And drink more water. Yes. I'm putting away 2 litres of fizzy water a day, which at 11st 5ft 9 I thought was ok?

I have shifted inches, oh yes. 4 off my waist, 2 off my hips, 1 off my chest. I still have jeans-defying apple belly though, and don't even ask me about back fat Grin

Maybe you are just at where you need to be hon, maybe try more water? Go up to the three litres. Would coffee with cream work? Much lower in carbs.

Well I was a tit today - had two avocados, one ripe, one like a brick.
I took the brick out to our picnic with me and cut into it - meh! Sat hungrily watching DD eat her packed lunch instead. :(
Didn't want to waste it so tried cooking it when we got home. It was ok but not great. Edible.

B: BPC
L: fried avocado, bacon lardons, 2 eggs fried, tiny bit courgette.
D: aubergine and chicken breast marinaded in ff yoghurt with garlic oil, lemon and spices (cayenne, mustard seed, onion seed, cumin and ground coriander) then baked until brown and yummy.

Hazelnut milk is GOOD in coffee. Worth a shot?

Report

Oh do you know I've never heard of hazelnut milk, I'll track it down and enthusiastically try it, thanks!

Ah yes, good old caffeine.... I have lavazza decaf and it's bloody lovely.

If you're close to target the other possible thing is to seriously up your fat intake. Do this with two bullet proof (decaf Grin) coffees daily.

And I might be dreaming or making this up Hmm but I have a weird feeling fizzy water may not be your friend..... (Hopefully someone can refute or confirm my nutty ramblings....)

So I didn't eat actual food until 2.30pm today. I had a bpc first thing, then at the time I was just thinking about food, my friend popped over for coffee so I just had another, and then we ended up going to the city shopping for various bits and pieces. She was utterly starving as we left. She's trying to lose weight on her own program, which I make no comment or judgement on really, but bless her she was on her knees. She kept saying to herself, 'but I had a smoothie this morning'

I had lunch and felt really fine, it was tuna mayo with a lovely green salad, with olives and avocado and oily dressing. Then for dinner I made an utter stonker of a dish. Got some diced chicken breast and in a pan I poured tandoori spice mix. The carb count is fine as it's just a blend of spices. Coated the meat generously in the powder, added a good amount of salt and left it for an hour. Then I poured in some ghee, some garlic purée and turned it on to full heat, and let it sizzle away for twenty minutes, stirring/poking at it now and again to stop it sticking. Served it to dcs with micro rice and naan and cucumber, and had another tasty green salad with avocado etc for myself. Utter heaven, and the dcs gave it a ten out of ten. If you can eat dairy, it would go great with yoghurt, but I made do with mayonnaise (tough life eh? Grin

Have been adding a slug of cider vinegar to my water, as it makes it taste Apple-y and helped my sore throat. Am sure it's supposed to help with weight loss too, but wonder what the carbs are in a bottle (which I have drunk over the course of a week Confused)

Am definitely retaining fluid. Feet like watery pillows. Humph.

Oh and hazelnut milk is in the alpro bit in our morrisons. Have never seen it before, but now have some nestling in the fridge for my new foreign student, who was a vegan, but is now vegetarian, phew. Much easier to feed.

Kleptronic when I was close to goal then I found logging my food on My Fitness Pal helped me to tweak things. My calorie intake was varying wildly so some days I was having 1800 calories but other day 2300 calories. Also it can be really helpful to look at your macros and a lot of people find upping the fat boosts weight loss. Another thing to consider is intermittent fasting. I did 14:8 where I went 14 hours between dinner one day and brunch the next. You don't have to do it every day, 3-5 days a week is plenty. So if I was hungry in the morning then I ate, if I felt okay or just peckish then I would fast. If you finish eating by 8 p.m. then you only need to fast until 10 a.m. the next day so it isn't a big hardship and you can have up to 50 calories during your fast so it's okay to have a cup of tea or coffee in the morning.

Trash I'll have to dig out that graph of my weight loss, I think I have it on the computer. You can't see it so clearly on the latest graph because it's too bunched up (and my pregnancy weight gain spoils the effect a little!)

CAN I ask for some supprt for none weight related stuff, I am having the day from hell. Turned upto my placement to be told I have been moved to another ward. Came home and phoned the other ward who don't want me, tutor is currently trying to sort it and I am sat here wondering what the hell to do. I have to get 30 hours in this week and I cant work on thursday as dd has a secondary school settling in day. And noone wants me.

PeppermintFrog · 30/06/2015 08:33

They don't want you dita? Is it because you looked askance at their carby twattery? Wink It sounds like an admin frig up, can you ask the original ward to double check? Can you defer some hours to next week, or trade study hours for practical hours? Is there any chance you could clock in to the ward anyway and do something useful even if they don't want you?

This is probably no use whatsoever, I was a 9-5 office monkey in my previous life and am now self employed. My brother's a nurse tho and his biggest stressor was the administration/management. Flowers

That sounds stressful Dita! Sorry I don't really have any advice but hope it works out and your tutor sorts it Flowers

it is definatly an admin fuck up, the original ward wanted me but they didn't have enough mentors so my tutor said it wasn't good enough. the new ward definatly don;t want me so i have no where to go at present. Trying reaslly hard not to be stresed, not hungry though so every cloud and all that.

Your tutor needs to deal with this dita. Try not to get stressed out, it's not your fault and there is absolutely nothing that you can do. Many, many years ago I turned up at a Urology unit. They were not expecting me and I felt like a right twat. My tutor sorted a placement in Gynae and I absolutely loved it. I'm sure you smell lovely Grin.

I am going to an all day Summer Fair/Mini Festival thing on Saturday. My DS's Scout group hold it every year. I usually indulge in the usual BBQ stuff (burgers, buns etc). This year I am getting ORGANISED and taking a picnic.

Does anyone have any delicious salad ideas? They would need to be ok sat around (in a cool bag!) for quite a long time. The event starts at about 1pm and goes on until about 10pm. I need to take alot of food so I am not tempted at all. I'd rather take too much and have it on Sunday than not enough!

Pata - thanks for that - think it was fluid and the end of TOTM - as I am back down 2lbs this morning - I swear to the almighty and great weight God and Whoosh fairy that going from 11.12lbs to 12.2lbs and back is the most demoralising thing in the world ever - I am going to be super strict and aim for 11.11 by next Monday. Wanted to be 10.10 for the 1st August - Right now 11.7 would be good!!!!

However 10.7 is the Christmas goal!!!!!! Have an amazing pair of levis which are beyoutifully cut and flared (shows how long it was since I last wore them as they are back on trend!!) they increase confidence, and make me feel fab!! i will wear them at Christmas if it kills me!!!!

Heman a pesto / courgetti salad is amazing. Roast cherry tomatoes in the oven in olive oil, stir tomatoes, pesto, toasted pine nuts or chopped macadamias and those tiny mozzerella balls or chopped soft mozzerella through the raw courgetti. Top with shaved Parmesan. It's the BUSINESS!

Cauliflower falafel are great on a picnic too (I've just made a batch), tabbouleh made with substituting caulifour for the bulgar wheat, bacon wrapped scotch eggs too.

I made the fauxlafel from the 'i breathe I'm hungry' website. I think I got a bit over excited when my local tesco started stocking riced cauliflower on 3 for 2 but the good news is that a 330g tub is just perfect for the recipe (it's very easy just a tub riced cauli, 2 eggs, 3tbsp coconut flour, 8 scant tbsp ground almonds plus spices - I used chilli powder, more cumin, mustard seeds and some garlic. Mix and fry in little cakes) yummy cold too.

You can use the fathead pizza base dough to make a pasty or sausage roll too.

I'm really disappointed with only 0.25 pound off this week. Only 5.75 off since I started 4 weeks ago. I think I'm mostly disappointed because I have a over 3 stone to lose and thought I'd have lost at least half a stone by now. Sad
On the upside I've just bought chinos in Next in a 16 rather than my usual 18 in there. They're snug but they fit Smile
