Morning all my lovely campers!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

and don't forget the Weight Tracker if you prefer to keep things private.

Hopefully the dreaded weeks 3 and 4 are well behind us, and we can now get on with the process of shedding more fat Grin

Here's to another good week, and I hope that the scales were kind to you this morning

Ok, I'm going to sound unbelievablely NEWB here but how do you tag someone in a reply?

trashcanjunkie · 18/02/2015 23:11

I can truly sympathise. I had a hysterectomy in 2010 for cervical cancer, and I remember waiting for the bits of treatment felt horrendous. I had visions of the cancer spreading through my whole body. I wanted everything done immediately from the first moment I got my diagnosis, but of course that just wasn't going to happen.

Next week feels like far away, but it will come. I know this is easy to say, but it's so important for your mum (and you) to have something else really positive to focus on whilst she goes through this. You can drive yourself nuts pinning your hopes on dates and deadlines. She'll need lots of support and distraction immediately after the scan, as of course, she'll have to wait for the results, and then there'll be decisions to be made.

Really sorry you're going through this, and keep coming here and talking. I think this is so important if you are changing your relationship with food in times of extreme stress.

nowitsenough · 18/02/2015 23:15

The thing I don't understand is that I know carbs are bad for me, I know they cause me to put on weight and that I don't know when to stop. I start low carbing and have the best intentions, I know why I'm doing it ... Then 3,4, maybe 5 days in it all doesn't seem important anymore and I just want chocolate/cake/biscuits Sad Sad I feel like I'm mad. Why can't I remember how bad they are for me?

BitchyDoesWitchyThings · 18/02/2015 23:15

name in bold

BitchyDoesWitchyThings · 18/02/2015 23:17

Sorry that was a test. You put a start around the name but without the spaces with places the words/sentences between the * into bold. But if you do what i did about then it doesn't work. If you are not sure there is handy notes below the bit where you can add files. A cheat sheet so to speak. Of course if you are using the mobile app i have no idea

nowitsenough · 18/02/2015 23:17

Thanks Trash Smile Hope you made a full recovery.

Yes the waiting for the results is going to be awful Sad I will keep posting here, hope no one minds. I'm still trying to get my head round it. My mum was never ill, always out and about doing stuff.

trashcanjunkie · 18/02/2015 23:26

Yes I made a full recovery thanks! And fingers crossed for your mum.

BerylStreep · 18/02/2015 23:26

nowitsenough sorry to hear you and you mum are going through this (you too trashcan, hope you are fully recovered).

To your question about why you forget how bad carbs are 3-4 days in, ZH has a theory that a lot of people with weight issues have candida overgrowth. As candida starts to die off, it can give you massive cravings, to try to make you eat sugary things, and so to feed it. Quite spooky. It reminds me of a nature programme where there is a type of wasp which lays it's larva in a beetle, and the beetle then unwittingly climbs to the top of the tree canopy so the wasp larva has light and heat to hatch, and causing the poor old beetle to fall to its death (something like that, there may be a bit of artistic licence in that explanation). Anyway, my point is, candida is a parasite, and can cause us to crave sugar to feed it.

MoJangled · 19/02/2015 00:18

Leaping on to mark place. Wow this thread's moving fast - have only sampled and not read fully but Flowers to those going through tough times.

I'd shaved another 0.6lb off by Monday - not terrific but that's about the rate I lose at. Still almost 3lb above my week 2 low though, not sure quite why that unravelled...

ijustwanttobeme · 19/02/2015 00:45

Checking in food intake.

Was out all day yesterday, but managed to stay fairly LCish. Admit to 3 or 4 onion rings in Eds Diner - but considering DD and DSGD were scoffing chips, milk shakes and ice cream, I thought I did ok.

Today:

B- tuna mayo, chicken breast and ham, mixed with mayo and some cheese. Was making sandwiches for DP and DSS, so ate any left over filings
L- ham, cheese, olives, half an avocado and salad
S- coffee with cream
D- tandoori chicken, okra curry and salad
S- cup of tea, with a dash of milk (and falling off the LC wagon for second time in two days....2 ginger nut biscuits....)

Not beating myself up about it though. And still only 7% total carb intake.

LexLoofah · 19/02/2015 01:57

Day 2 of uber and DS has sick bug, talk about being put to the test

Quite put me off eating at all tbh, mid afternoon was flagging after being up half the night and would normally have had copious cups of tea and a Soreen but I had a BPC Instead

L - pate on celery, lettuce, radish, cucumber, oil dressing, avo with olive oil
D - half a chicken breast in garlic butter, mushrooms & courgetti in butter

Total for the day well under 20g carbs including the cup of tea I had first thing, hope that will be OK even thought dairy is verboten

Ok one more day left, I can do this

Romeyroo · 19/02/2015 06:32

Thanks, Biwi, I do have some vitamin D so will take that, have had some salt crystals and will get some stock cubes, forgot about that Flowers

DS got up at the crack of dawn wanting to make a cake - to be fair, we were going to do it yesterday but too tired. It is chocolate cake but as trying to keep DS sugar down, it is made with soya flour (low GI) and xylitol. Hopefully, this will be fine (for him, not me, I won't have any, apart from teensy taste test).

Still not caught up with thread, will just send good wishes to everyone for now, KOKO Flowers

Thumbwitch · 19/02/2015 07:19

Beryl - glad you've made the decision, hope it works out for you without too many dramas. Thanks

I can't even remember where I got up to with food things.

Yesterday I had:
B - cheese
L - cold sausage, celery stick with salmon paste, celery stick with Boursin
D - roast duck with beans and cauliflower, and garlic mushrooms; glass of red wine spritzer

Today:
B - exploded Babybel (1'45 did the job beautifully!)
L - boiled egg/cheddar/mayo/garlic salt in lettuce wraps, followed by raspberries in double cream
D - mince thing with konjac noodles, although I'm considering the cauli rice, I just don't think it will go well with the mince thing. Bought some more coconut oil to do it later though. :)

Last night I felt like I was going to crack again and fall face first into a bag of maltesers; but I didn't, I fell asleep with DS2 again, and despite waking up at ~1am, went back to sleep fairly quickly without "needing" to eat anything.

No more alcohol though - I'm sure that's not helping me at all :(

BIWI · 19/02/2015 07:34

Morning all. No time to post as have to get off to work - busy period at the moment.

Crap night's sleep here - was supposed to be getting up at 6.15 for a run, but when still awake at nearly 2 am I decided that wasn't going to happen, so changed my alarm to 6.45. That extra half an hour will have made all the difference Hmm

Have got very frustrating twitch in my right eye, which is always a signal that I'm tired/stressed.

And the scales weren't very nice to me this morning either, so I'm off to work with a grumpy face. A bit like this Confused

nowitsenough · 19/02/2015 07:52

Thanks Beryl. That sounds nasty Shock

It just seems ridiculous, I'm not stupid, and yet I can't seem to stick to this woe strictly for longer than a few days Sad

I've tried getting rid of all sweet stuff, but end up going to the shops and buying stuff.

Anyway, I'm KOKOing Grin Trying again.

Gcalgske · 19/02/2015 08:20

romeyroo have you tried baking with coconut or almond flour? I've tried with soya in the past but never liked the results but had good outcomes with almond or coconut (and cocoa) for chocolate cake.

Notso · 19/02/2015 08:26

Apparently I have been sleep eating or something as I have put 12lb on since yesterday Hmm
Am due on any day so could be that. My clothes aren't tighter.
Food yesterday was ok I thought,
Broccoli and butter for breakfast,
Coffee with cream
Celeriac dauphinois with crispy prosciutto,
I also had two tea and milks and about 1.5 litres of water.

almahart · 19/02/2015 08:34

I'm going do uber camp from today. At home for half term so much easier than at work when I can't cook breakfast as i leave the house so early, can't face eating at 630.

Does it matter if I mix teh order of the meals around a bit? Am sort of wanting to hear that it does matter so I do nothing but mindlessly follow the rules Grin

BIWI · 19/02/2015 08:43

You can switch the days around, but if you switch meals from different days, then obviously the total carb counts will vary - although it shouldn't be massively different as everything is designed to be low carb

OP posts:
lurkingmurking · 19/02/2015 09:01

Just checking in

B: BPC, 2 eggs, big mushroom, ham
L: pret salad
D: peppered steak, roasted broccoli
E: spin class

almahart · 19/02/2015 09:04

That's great as I have a perfect avocado that needs eating

ChesterDrawers · 19/02/2015 09:20

Off work today as feeling rotton with a horrible cold. No appetite so not sure what to do about food.

Very nearly failed last night, was a second away from sending DH to the chip shop but managed to stop myself in time and asked him to do sausage, swede mash and broccoli instead. Was lovely, especially a I'd not eaten all day and I felt proud that I'd managed to overcome a huge comfort eating moment intact.

Really need to get my arse out of bed and get something out of the freezer for later or I'll be in a similar position again.

Gcalgske · 19/02/2015 10:40

I have the stomach flu (trying to be polite) but jeezy creezy. Scared to sip water to take some loperamide for fear of it's reappearance at either end AND I've the 2yo to look after allow to watch Peppa on a loop till Nana arrives I think I might see some weight loss at last but for the wrong reason!

Gcalgske · 19/02/2015 11:29

Thanks bitchy
chester when hubby goes to the chip shop I get either a 1/2 smoked sausage (no batter) or chicken breast (no batter) with pickled onions. Not perfect but I make it a 'supper' with celeriac or swede chips (which I then shove in the paper with the sausage or chicken). Swede chips done in beef dripping are gorgeous!

BeyondDoesBootcamp · 19/02/2015 11:56

Dinner yesterday was butter chicken, cauli bhaji and meat and chicken tikka

Breakfast today - smoked salmon, scrambled egg with butter and cream cheese, coffee with cream

Lunch will be dinner leftovers
