Morning all my lovely campers!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

and don't forget the Weight Tracker if you prefer to keep things private.

Hopefully the dreaded weeks 3 and 4 are well behind us, and we can now get on with the process of shedding more fat Grin

Here's to another good week, and I hope that the scales were kind to you this morning

Week 5 - Low Carb Bootcamp - Where the Only Way is Down!
BerylStreep · 18/02/2015 11:45

Morning all!

day 3 for me, and the scales have shifted already! The celeriac chips look lovely (although I had a grim accident with a mandoline last month, skin is only just starting to grow back - be warned - always use the food gripper thing).

In other news, i think i have decided to split from my husband. I should be Sad but actually, I am [shrug]. I have been posting for ages on here under different names. It is the old 80/20 rule, but I have decided I'm not prepared tp put up with the 20% any more. Last night was the final straw. It would normally have sent me running for the white wine, but instead I went to bed early.

Ahem, as you were.

Erhic have you tried any of Zoe Harcombe recipes? She is vegetarian too. I will have a look through her recipe book. There is a very nice butternut squash curry.

SayraT · 18/02/2015 11:59

Sorry bitchy I don't know what it is. I will investigate and in the meantime if someone else could try and access the spreadsheet and let me know what happens that would be good.

SayraT · 18/02/2015 12:00

Try this link and see what happens.

SayraT · 18/02/2015 12:04

Hmm, I think someone had changed the setting from "anyone who has the link can edit" to "anyone who has the link can comment".

The veg carb counter has also been messed with!

Gcalgske · 18/02/2015 12:04

Oh beryl that's a biggie. Sending hugs!

Gcalgske · 18/02/2015 12:05

Breakfast: boiled egg with 10g lurpak spreadable (ran out of real butter :()

miffy49 · 18/02/2015 12:16

SayraT I couldn't get on either. I can access it with the link you just posted but it wont let me add my weight. (Having a really evil week with DH rather poorly so forgot to add it on Monday.)

BitchyDoesWitchyThings · 18/02/2015 12:17

Thank you very much Sayra Flowers access restored. Flowers

beryl they say if there are still feelings negative or positive you are not done. If you are just meh than this perhaps is the right answer Good luck with the practical aspects and getting everything how you want.

ChesterDrawers · 18/02/2015 12:24

Beryl Flowers

Feeling a bit better here, still no appetite, but had a decent sized chunk of cheese and a hot Bovril for lunch. Drinking lots of water so hoping lack of food won't cock things up too much. forgot to get anything out of the freezer for tea, so looking like black farmer sausages and whatever veg we have. Not ideal but better than the chippy tea I'd usually go for when feeling under the weather.

Sorry if my iDiscovery has messed up the spreadsheet, I don't think I tampered with any settings. Hope it's relatively easy to sort out Sayra

SayraT · 18/02/2015 12:30

I don't think that would have been anything to do with it chester you'd have to go into settings and change the access Confused

I think I've sorted it but miffy said that she can't edit. If someone else, who can normally edit could try that would be much appreciated.

Feeling pretty rubbish this week as I've caught a cough from either my dad or my brother Sad I coughed so much the other night that I was sick. Last night I had to get up three times to dry myself with a towel because I was sweating so much! Disgusting!!

I feel a bit better today, yesterday the only thing I wanted to eat was custard so that is all I had (not expecting weight-loss this week!). Today I've had half a green smoothie for breakfast, thinking of heating the rest up and having it as soup for lunch Grin

Fatstacks · 18/02/2015 12:32

I totally get it. It took us years to get to the meh point but once you are there you can be more sure it's the right thing.
Thanks for the tip, I will investigate later

BitchyDoesWitchyThings · 18/02/2015 12:45

I have managed to edit it Sayra Sorry you are feeling so sick, hopefully you are managing to sweat the bug out your system quickly and feel back to normal quickly.

imustbepatient · 18/02/2015 12:49

Sending you lots of good wishes Beryl. Thanks

LexLoofah · 18/02/2015 13:12

Day 2 of uber not started so well as up since 1am with vomiting DS, 2 sets of bedding later we look set to spend the day on the sofa (thank god it is leather). Good job it is bank holiday today so no need to take the day off, hoping we can have a nap this afternoon as very tired, had to have a cup of tea with a bit of milk, aargh!

b - fry up of bacon, sausage, mushrooms, turnip mash and fried egg

SayraT · 18/02/2015 13:22

Those of you doing ubercamp - did you know that BIWI has already devised menus for three days so oyu don't need to worry about counting your carbs?

There are three different options:

meat and eggs
meat no eggs
fish

There isn't a veggie one though.

You can find them on one of the tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet.

trashcanjunkie · 18/02/2015 13:48

Oh beryl is it wrong that I feel very excited for you? Obviously it's sad to have to have made the decision, but life is short, and why the bugger should we settle? Amazingly well done on not hitting the wine.

I have noticed personally that when I have made big positive changes in my life, it has cast a magnifying glass over the other areas where I've inadvertently been putting up with substandard crap.

I'm having such a lazy half term at home with the dcs. It's bliss. Although tomorrow I have promised we'll go to wet n wild groo

Breakfast this morning - spoonful of cottage cheese with olive oil and salt n pepper on top, with three lc chipolatas and three slices of bacon, plus some leftover green salad from dinner.

Big cup of tea and today, as I am fighting off a sore throat, instead of water in my big bottle, I've made herbal tea using a lemon and ginger, and a lime and ginger bag plus a squirt of lemon juice. I'm drinking it warm.

Lunch will be a clear chicken soup with a big blob of butter in my portion, and obviously some chickens bits.

Not sure what dinner will be yet. Must go to the shop today. Might do homemade lamb burger with roast aubergine and courgette and maybe some slightly manky spring greens done in butter.

Am soldiering on today with my social work personal statement. I made some progress yesterday.

BeyondDoesBootcamp · 18/02/2015 14:04

Beryl Flowers

Lunch - fried streaky bacon and fried mushrooms

tartiflette · 18/02/2015 14:26

MrsK what about the lamb donner with celeriac chips for your tea?

tartiflette · 18/02/2015 14:26

Yes I thought same as Trashcan, Beryl, kind of exciting. Hope you are ok x

BIWI · 18/02/2015 14:33

No need to worry about Lurpak spreadable - the only additional ingredient in it is vegetable oil - nothing nasty

Lamb mince - why not make the IPD moussaka that's on the recipe thread?

Or try making moussaka meatballs:

500g lamb mince (20% fat)
200g (peeled weight) shallots - this will be around 2-4 echallion shallots depending on their size
4 cloves of garlic, peeled
1-2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon (depending on how much you like cinnamon)
1 teaspoon of dried oregano
1 tablespoon of tomato puree
sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
extra virgin olive oil

Peel the shallots and put them into a food processor bowl, with the normal chopping blade. Peel the garlic cloves and add those. Pulse these together until finely minced.

Add the mince, the cinnamon, oregano and tomato puree and season well with salt and pepper (add more salt than you think you'll need).

Process until it's all well blended, and while it's blending, pour in a generous sloosh of olive oil. Then tip the lot out, form into meat balls, about the size of a small satsuma, and fry them till browned on both sides. (You won't need to add any oil to the frying pan as there's enough in the meatballs themselves).

They take about 10-15 minutes to cook/brown thoroughly.

I calculate that this lot will be around 9g carbs, and it's enough for 4 if you serve lots of veg, or a very generous helping for 2.

I'm serving it with aubergines, that I have sliced and griddled (to get the char marks on them), then baked in the oven, with lots of olive oil, as they drink it like sponges.

On the side, will be a dressing of Total full fat yoghurt, mixed with a finely chopped clove of garlic, the juice of half a lemon, some freshly ground black pepper and a teaspoon of dried mint.

Beryl Flowers i hope you feel a metaphorical (and actual) weight lifted.

Have been getting some comments on how slim i'm looking. Yesterday i wore leggings for the first time in ages and dad said how much weight i'd lost and well i looked and said the diet was working really well. Then DH came back from PILs (haven't seen him since last Thurs) and asked 'where the rest of my cuddly koala-y body had gone'?

MrsKoala · 18/02/2015 14:44

sounds lovely biwi. i don't have the right veg to go with it, but will make it next week defo. i think i'll do shepherds pie and broc tonight. i need to use up the celeriac really.

i had a lovely dinner last night, tandoori chicken thighs with green salad and cauli rice fried with chilli, garlic, ginger, spring onion & bok choi.

Mrsstevejones · 18/02/2015 15:19

Took the kids to the beach today - its lovely here today. A walk in the sunshine has strengthened my resolve - summer is coming and i dont want t sweat it out in jeans again. I have loads of lovely dresses that dont fit.

Had lunch at a greasy spoon and had 3 bacon, 1 sausage and a plum tomato - really yummy and they only charged me £2, bargain.

So today 2 x bpc, green smoothie and greasy spoon breakfast. Loads of fat may have over done it but i did have both kids in double buggy and pushed them up a massive hill. Will be spending afternoon cleaning out car as DD fell asleep in the car and wee`d in her car seat, sigh.

I have my first gym session tomorrow - a beginners spin class, its gonna hurt. Need to see if any of my old gym clothes fit as i think i have out grown them all and newly ordered ones arent here yet.

Dinner tonight will be burgers with whatever veg is in the fridge. Must drink more water.

Beryl - this weightloss does seem to have some surprising effects - it has got me off my arse to make changes that needed doing - admittedly not as big as chucking a bad relationship, good for you life is too short for 20% (been there done that).
