Hi all, happy low carbing!

I felt tired and headachy for most of the day. Finally decided to have an oxo cube drink which helped almost immediately.

B egg salad: two eggs, one tomato, mayo

L three pork loin medallions fried in butter, aubergine bake

D baked salmon with olive oil and lemon with wilted spinach, prawns in an olive oil, garlic and chilli broth

Haven't had enough to drink yet, will work on it over the evening.

ImSoOverIt · 15/05/2014 20:12

Hi all!

Whoosh fairy visited this morning and I am 3lbs down from Monday! I just hope it stays off.

I may end up spoiling it as the evening I am succumbing to a glass of prosecco. I know it's bad but if have completed my very last assessment of medical school today - so I am celebrating about 7 years of hard work!

Presenting at a conference tomorrow though so better not get too carried away!

B - Greek yog, coconut cream, coffee and cream

L - goats cheese, roasted peppers, salad

D - made an aubergine lasagne/moussaka thingy. Was really yum.

teawithlemon · 15/05/2014 20:13

Not been a bad day, am a glass and a bit away from 2L, not including coffee and herbal tea- but I did have milk with coffee as cream not really an option in the nhs!
holgerand flake I'll be staying on BC too, having done LC before I know it takes me about 3weeks to really start ketosis. I've yo-yo dieted all my life and am now paying the price in insulin resistance.
Feeling ok at the mo (apart from tired!),
B-2 scrambled egg
L- salad with lemon and oil dressing
S- had to pick chunks of lamb out of lovely but carby curry Dh cooked. Not so fun when I had to scrape the rice off as well, but then at least he'd cooked. Feel the need for veggies now so will have something plain & green.

HolgerDanske · 15/05/2014 20:14

Oh wow ImSoOverIt how amazing that must feel! I was all set to talk you out of your drink but that is definitely worth celebrating. Enjoy and congratulations Smile

ImSoOverIt · 15/05/2014 20:24

Thanks holger - I almost resisted but just couldn't in the end!

Ahem. It has come to my attention that many of you are not eating breakfast

Can I point you to rule 1 of Bootcamp?

Eating three meals a day, one of which is breakfast, is really important in the first two weeks of Bootcamp. We are aiming to stabilise our blood sugar levels, which means eating regularly, but eating low carb.

notso

I think I need to get better at breakfast. I don't usually have anything except three cups of tea, have reduced that to one and two glasses of water since I have started low carbing.
I just don't fancy anything then am really hungry by 12ish and eating too much.

This is exactly what happens if you don't eat breakfast. Your blood sugar levels plummet and so you get really hungry, which means you either eat too much or, worse, eat the wrong thing.

Please, please, please READ THE RULES!

They are there for a reason.

Still nothing apart from the 1/2 pound I lost yesterday. Thing is I know this woe works as I lost a stone on the Pig2twig diet a few years ago quite easily. So I have upped my water and going to give that another day then I'm going to cut out the dairy at the weekend(need to finish the feta).

Best1sWest · 15/05/2014 20:39

Well done imsooverit by the way. Fantastic.

teawithlemon · 15/05/2014 20:59

Well done overit! FY1 selection next!

antimatter · 15/05/2014 21:20

I feel like a different person today! I thin my headaches and general crap day might have been due to weight loss! Or at least my jeans aer bit loose Grin

Had no cravings and low appetite today. Drank only 2 l of water abd one portion of dehydration powder.

I'll be back on 3.5 liter of water tomorrow and see how that feels, but only bottled or tap. I won't get back to filtered water from that kettle at work.

I can report that Sainsbury's has 3 kinds of Black Farmer Sausages. However I had in my fridge M&S one's which were I believe all under 2 g/carbs per 100g and I think that is also acceptable.
Black Farmer Sausages are 3 pounds each packet.

May the whoosh fairy visit us all! Grin Grin Grin

gillyginger · 15/05/2014 21:20

calzone · 15/05/2014 21:25

Sorry BIWI.....((hangs head in shame))

Eggs tomorrow for breakfast.

StringBeanJean · 15/05/2014 21:46

Woo congrats ohwhatfuckery and imsooverit!

Successfully swerved a jacket potato at my ma's tonight - I stayed strong, despite being v tempted.

B - Greek yog, sausage
L - salad, fennel and sausages
D - chicken, salad and roast veg

notso · 15/05/2014 21:58

I have bought yoghurt for breakfast tomorrow!

Uplateagain · 15/05/2014 22:20

Um, is anyone else constipated? Advice VERY welcome!!

HolgerDanske · 15/05/2014 22:27

More veg, more water, more fat and a bit less protein in your next few meals.

antimatter · 15/05/2014 22:35

Uplateagain - no harm to get something over the counter to get going but at the same time you must eat more of what Holger sair, I think cabbage works very well - you need to add more fibre and that's why we eat a lot of veg on bootcamp

BIWI · 15/05/2014 22:52

Make sure you're getting your carbs from veg and salad.

But as others have said - more water, more fat. And also, exercise can help.

OP posts:
BIWI · 15/05/2014 22:52

Oh, and the other thing is to ask: are you actually constipated? Or are you just not going as often as you are used to?

OP posts:
antimatter · 16/05/2014 05:50

When I first started low carbing it was Atkins hardcore and then constipation is massive problem if you only allow yourself 20 g of carbs.
I remember reading somewhere that your no.2 should float in the toilet water and not sink. It is sign that you get enough fibre for your bowels.

NeverHadANickname · 16/05/2014 06:46

Morning. Hopefully I wont post 3 times like yesterday. I hate posting on my phone but I'm having breakfast in bed and can't be bothered to move Grin. I'm a daily weigher which I know isn't good for everyone but I'm ok with fluctuations and this week is looking like another good one.

Today:
B - coffee with butter and cream
D - chicken with butter and olives like yesterday and salad if I have some in my veg box
T - I think I'm going to treat myself to a big fat juicy steak with a cream and mushroom sauce.

Whats the best cut of steak to maximise fat? I'm thinking maybe rib eye, yummy.

LittleMissDisorganized · 16/05/2014 06:55

ImSo how great - enjoy this bit of time now before August - you must have worked so very hard!! Assume you already have a Foundation post or am I so behind the times these days that they do it this late?? teawithlemon seems to know more than me :)
It's 10 years since I qualified this year - am going back to my Staff Grade job in a couple of weeks 2 years after massive injuries.

Pisseslikeahorse · 16/05/2014 07:09
