Wow! So much nattering that we've filled up the thread before the end of the week!

Here's the link to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for tomorrow morning.

And, for the Weight Tracker I'm not quite sure what happens with this link I think that you will be asked to enter your weight for this week and then you will see your individual graph.

I hope you all had a good week last week, and very good luck for week 2.

Can anybody help me please?
I'm on day 12. I am completely sold on this woe, and have been meticulously perfect on it, which is absolutely unheard of for me...

But I haven't had the energy surge of yet, after being on a 7lb overall loss on day 6, by day 7 I was only on a 2lb loss, and since Monday I have only lost 1lb, and I've gone up half since yesterday.. I know weight fluctuates throughout the week, but I really expected a big initial loss. Dh says I don't have smelly breath either, do you think I'm not in ketosis?

I want to stick to this woe, I've read up and like the science side, and I like the food. And the fact that I'm never hungry. And that it's so easy too.. But I'm worried it's not working for me and could really use some advice please x

WillieWaggledagger · 23/01/2014 09:19

mlig what happened between days 6 and 7 - are you saying you put on 5lb overnight?

if that's the case (and you have definitely stuck to the rules) i wonder whether your scales are wrong...

Put on 3lb overnight Sad

Went for a curry last night with an old friend. Drank water and ate chicken sheeshlik with was all meat, no sauce. Side dishes of spinach and a green salad.

Perhaps I just need to do a great big poo

Mlig · 23/01/2014 09:38

WillieWaggledagger, nothing happened, it might actually have been day 5 to 7 that the 5lb went back on. And the scales are ok, I've had the hubby and the kids on them too, and it agrees with the wii too, although I've only used the wii since day 5

flucketycluck · 23/01/2014 10:09

Deary, deary me...... Anyone give me a pull up to get me back on the wagon......??
Too many crimes against Boot Camp to mention yesterday and my feeble excuse is only "Twas my birthday....."
Spin already this morning & combat this evening as punishment along with water, green tea, water- repeat, repeat, repeat.......
Onwards & downwards.....

rubybricks · 23/01/2014 10:09

morning losers! Smile
just checking in, crabby you've a lot on your plate, but you've done so well and hats off to you for home-eding, could you think of this as your long holiday that teachers get Envy and focus on that and all the things you can do just for you in this time? i hear you about the kids' party, though am sure it will be a triumph (can you post a pic or two for inspiration? we're minecraft mad here too!)
athelstane i hear you too about feeling more present and clear-headed. just as well as it's taking up all my energy carrying big shopping bags of bottled water and stuff - anyone else find they seem to be buying/spending more ££ on this WOE? and what's worse, most of it seems to be just for me!
i've resisted weighing as it's TOTM and i never remember not to have anything to drink first, but will probably have a check over the weekend, if only to strengthen my resolve not to have Wine and Cake to 'celebrate' my hard work this week Confused
good luck to all and here's what's on the menu today:
B: coffee with cream, BAB
L: salmon and avocado salad
D: chester's chicken (at last!), mashed swede and spinach
S: babybel/s
and 3l of the finest sparking water

CiderwithBuda · 23/01/2014 10:11

Morning all.

Any point in suggesting people don't get too hung up on the numbers? Esp if weighing every day. You will just stress yourselves out. I know we are all mainly doing this to lose weight but sometimes even with no actual weight loss we will lose inches. I haven't lost much this week but my stomach feels much flatter for instance. There seems to be lots of stuff around at the moment about the dangers of sugar - even without weight loss we are doing ourselves so much good by cutting out sugar. Just relax. Go with it. Enjoy the food. Drink the water. The loss will come. We don't all lose huge amounts even in week one.

It is also worth mentioning that dairy can really inhibit loss for some people. Atkins didn't allow yoghurt for instance. And recommended limited cheese.

I can't remember who asked if they should repeat this week but you can stay on Bootcamp as long as you like. Some people do. Some switch to Bootcamp light. Some do Bootcamp in the week and Bootcamp lite at the weekend.

I know someone who lost three stone low carbing. She just stopped eating carbs. She didn't stress about ketosis - didn't know what it was when I mentioned it. Didn't worry about certain veg being higher in carbs than others. She just stopped eating bread, potatoes, rice, pasta and sugary foods. Stopped drinking wine during the week but had a couple of glasses at the weekend. She still eats that way now on a day to day basis but relaxes if out for a meal etc.

This is a healthier way of eating and we will gain benefits from that. More energy. Clearer skin. Less bloated. And the weight loss will come. Some weeks more than others. Some weeks none. And yes that is hard. But it happens.

Keep on keeping on. Try not to stress. Eat nice food. Cut back on dairy to see if that makes a difference.

Here endeth my sermon. Smile

Exactly what Cider said ^

We all need to stop stressing about the numbers on the scales! I am not the slender sylph that I would like to be, some people would have become disheartened and given up, I have plodded on and I look and feel better for it. That is what we need to focus on.

PseudoBadger · 23/01/2014 10:23

Agree Buda! I like the thought of BC light at the weekends, I've got plenty to lose so need to be happy with the WOE long term.
Next week I'm making Ds's birthday cake and will have a little fizzy on his birthday too.

rubybricks · 23/01/2014 10:36

what cider said. that post should be made a sticky (if we had them)

TinTinsSexySister · 23/01/2014 10:41

Hi all,

Sad for all those who have still not lost or who have put weight on. V dispiriting.

No loss at all here either.

Today's menu (to keep track):
B- Total with cream
L - cold cuts, cheeses, olives and green salad
D- LC sausage casserole w buttered cabbage.

Only 0.5 of a litre of water so far though and two cups of tea

Chin(s) up everyone!

happygirl87 · 23/01/2014 10:59

Morning everyone!

Thanks so much and virtual (no carb!) Cake to BIWI and everyone who was nice to me in response to my last post. Really meant a lot.

On Tues night I tried the cauli mash (can't remember who suggested it)- I managed a few mouthfuls, but was finding everything way too buttery that day (had it with fried cod in bacon, and fried garlic mushrooms, plus big salad), so probably didnt give it a fair go. Having said that, a few mouthfuls is more cauliflower than I've ever eaten in my life and my mother would be shocked, so thanks for the tip!

Yesterday I had:

B- quails eggs, ham, cheese
L- frittata (bacon, shallot, spring onion, mushroom, peppers, cheese, eggs)
D- sausage pasta- made with the low carbest tomatoes I could find (3gcarb per100), mushroom, pepper, shallot, black farmer sausages and the zero carb pasta that was on sale in Holland and Barrett (less than 1g carb per 100).

Is that dinner too carby? Or ok?

Best thing is that I can really feel my taste changing. For the first time I have noticed that peppers taste sweet! Plus FF yoghurt is much more palatable today than it was on Tues- and cinammon is a godsend! Any rules on using that, experts?

Plus no snacks! No hunger! Amazing.

WillieWaggledagger · 23/01/2014 10:59

mlig some people just don't see a big loss in the first week, it's not unusual, though it's a bit annoying seeing others getting the initial whoosh.

i'm not sure what the loss followed by a gain (but with a net loss) means, but is it possible that you weighed in a different place to the day(s) before?

do you want to list out your menus for a few days?

sueh95 · 23/01/2014 11:00

thanks cider that makes absolute sense! I might try going light on the dairy (could easily live on cheese) from now on. I will stay on boot camp and go more with butter/oil etc for fat rather than dairy. I love how supportive this forum is Smile x

happygirl87 · 23/01/2014 11:00

Forgot to say, also had salad with lunch yest.

WillieWaggledagger · 23/01/2014 11:04

not sure what has happened to the spreadsheet, i think someone has got in a muddle

please could no one touch it for a bit as i will need to do some serious repair work

CiderwithBuda · 23/01/2014 11:16

Ah shucks thanks guys. Blush

I gave up Bootcamp in the autumn as it was making me very all or nothing. Which I found with doing Atkins in the past too. But I know that low carb works. So here I am again. A stone heavier. I'm following most of the Bootcamp rules - although struggling with the water - but am a bit relaxed about it. Had a very weak white wine and soda last night for instance. And a salad for lunch that was very healthy and full of good things but way too carby for Bootcamp. But it was full of fibre and I need that sometimes! It's why I'm not posting my food - don't want to confuse people. Or get hit with BIWI's stick! This has got to be long term and while I would love to lose it all quickly I can't. So after a grumpy depressed day last week I had a chat with DH and decided to relax a bit.

I'm sticking around here as I love the support on these threads and need the low carb support.

Off to meet a friend for coffee so back later!

LauraBridges · 23/01/2014 11:21

I would suggest giving it time. Some of the very quick massive losses on here are not typical of many people particularly those who are not many many stones over their desired weight. I have never lost more than about a pound a week ever in any way of eating and there is nothing wrong with that. If people don't lose one week and lose a pound the next that is perfectly good progress.

PrimalLass · 23/01/2014 11:29

B: Egg in a cup - boiled egg chopped up in a cup with butter (this might be a Scottish thing (West) as the only person at work who knew what I was talking about is from the same area as me

I've just had this too (East Scotland). Am wishing that I'd made some crispy streaky bacon to go with it.

WillieWaggledagger · 23/01/2014 11:30

normal spreadsheet service has resumed

SteeleyeStan · 23/01/2014 11:34

Morning all.

Sorry to all of you feeling frustrated - try not to get too discouraged. I hardly lost anything for a long time when I restarted LC a few years ago; for some reason it just took me months and months to properly get into the swing of it. Then 5 st in c. a year.

It always remained a bit of a mystery to me why it suddenly started falling. My own theory is that I must have had some pretty bad problems with my metabolism, brought on my periods of eating disorder and all the yoyoing and desperate attempts on low fat and low calorie diets. Since my hormones were so out of order, I wonder if there might have been some undiscovered thyroid or adrenal gland issues, too. And my own (completely unmedical and made up) theory is, that it took quite a long time of LC to "fix" things enough for weight loss to start. Confused

Anyway. Foods today:
B: Two fried eggs, coffee with coconut oil and some soaked linseeds.
L: Oyster mushrooms in butter, salad and more coffee with coconut oil.
S: Cheese if need be.
D: I'll be trying to make those parmesan coated chicken nuggets! Broccoli and green beans as a side.
