I've kinda met someone I like, he's single - I'm single (nearly 2yrs) we both have kids, we both like each other, he's asked me out, I've kinda not really responded, and now we're in limbo, I want to ask for his number but am slightly scared/nervous/unsure of how to ask, where to begin?

He's currently working two streets away and I pass him most days, stop for a chat etc, I just don't know how to further things ...?

wow...how did that happen

jamestkirk · 05/02/2010 22:43

how indeed? there's never enough time - and hi again - you finished your kitchen yet? i seem to be spending too much time at work - doesnt help that i'm restoring my xr2 there, means i'm starting early and finishing late. then coming home to do more here - and i want the loft doing!

more importantly tho - you playing badders this weekend? sounds far more fun - hope it goes well, and you get to visit the north east - theres a treat!

alypaly · 07/02/2010 00:50

nope ,not finished the tilingyet.did another 130 tiles (who's counting)as i had a shed load of survey work to do on autocad as we have about 17 jobs to complete. Shouldnt complain really.
On the home straight with the tiling tho..the last wall and switches. Coving next and then shelves in the pantry.

Played badminton on friday pm after being at the national championships in Manchester during the day.
We played the top team and got thrashed 17-1
Played up in Middlesborough for my county today against one of the top teams and ........yes ,lost again. I am feeling a pattern emerging which i dont like much.

Found the only nice pub in Middlesbro for a quick coffee before the game as we made it in good time. But unfortunately on the way home someones car decided to set on fire, so the M62 was a car park whilst they put it out. We moved 20yds in 40 mins[grrrrrrr]

So, back to the national champs tomorrow to watch the finals

DS1 having his injections on monday, for his school trip to Costa Rica in summer. He is realy looking forward to it.(the trip ,not the injections Wish i was going.

Is the car still in bits?

No, please Claire, let us know what happened.

Claire2009 · 07/02/2010 21:10

I got his number, he called me, came round mine the next night, we chatted loads, and things went from there, he wants long-term, I'm seeing how things go! But all going well so far

Great stuff Claire.

jamestkirk · 07/02/2010 23:34

we do seem to have rambled on a bit - tho congrats on getting more tiles up - maybe you should have bought larger ones - sounds more like mosaics

as for badminton - you weren't playing blindfold were you? maybe there was something in your coffee - i was born in m'bro and grew up round there - can't think of a decent pub tho. i'm now about ten miles south of it and you drove right by when passing the moors on the right - i was welding my poor old xr2 back together - still a long way to go, is loads worse than expected now i'm stripping it all back, still beats tiling tho!

enjoy the finals again tomorrow - sounds like an easy life being a cad bod

Monty100 · 08/02/2010 00:39

Lol.

alypaly · 08/02/2010 01:09

evening monty27

Monty100 · 08/02/2010 12:22

Sorry AP, I had to get to bed at that point.

It is a lovely thread.

alypaly · 08/02/2010 12:51

i think its quite cool too

alypaly · 10/02/2010 16:05

hey verity ,i thought you were going to join us

jamestkirk · 10/02/2010 23:24

another thread? did kind of forget that people might actually read some of my ramblings - has silenced me a bit, i do seem to have wittered on...tho an age thing!?... - youre probably right. tho have been so cold n tired lately ive felt about a zillion years old. being outside all winter does seem to drag a bit - i resorted to chopping logs today to try and get warm! really should have paid more attention at school

your ds has the right idea going off to costa rica - sounds like warm sandy beaches and palm trees to me. still think diving beats skiing anyday. i'll settle for wandering off across the moors whenever i can - sure the spring will arrive soon enough. and so will my new employers - will be the third without changing jobs. am now working late every day to try and have the xr done and home before they land - will be going some - is just as well i'm single lol

hope youve been getting on with the kitchen/pantry and not spent the week watching badminton!

alypaly · 10/02/2010 23:57

nope ,just playing....again( 3rd match in 6 days...another match in Harrogate this weekend against Yorkshire and then one on monday and wednesday.....then im booking a appt with the coronerand ordering a new body as this one is slowly getting knackered......
got beaten again tonight but not thrashed. (11-7)
was disappointed with the games with the girls. I felt as tho i had let them down tonight, but on reflection, none of the girls played particularly well.

won both my mixed games tho

Sorry if our wittering has embarrased you, forgot about the voyeurs
Chat ups are not normally my scene....but its nice to to chat to a guy thats not weird(well other than the car in in the dining room)

alypaly · 12/02/2010 00:17

those voyeurs have put you off chatting ........boo hoo.

Monty100 · 12/02/2010 00:25

JamesTKirk - come back. I won't read any more! I just thought the thread was lovely. Promise I won't look any more.

Think you should swap phone numbers anyway. lol.

OK I'm going now. Byeeeeeeeee. Have fun!

jamestkirk · 13/02/2010 00:35

nah not totally put off - tho wrote a pile of stuff the other night and it sounded so boring i just had to delete it - it would have sent you to sleep!

anyway - hope youve played well at badders...do you really say that out loud? still impressed at you playing for the county - tho i do believe harrogate was in yorkshire last time i was there so i may have mixed loyalties

as for weirdness my kids may disagree...i have this interest you see - other than cars - and years ago i bought an old vw camper just so i could drag the whole tribe (and dog) around the south west visiting all the usual prehistoric sites - i made them suffer stonehenge and avebury, and climb glastonbury tor in the rain and trecked off the beaten track to see hillforts and roundhouses. has been a passion for years - i used to work with the local archaeology bods and take them field walking - even managed a couple of seasons digging, found some amazing stuff - the high point wasnt the mass of meso/neolithic flint tools but walking barefoot (with dog) on a long lost mesolithic river bank that i excavated one day many years ago. to touch the surface people walked on thousands of years ago was surreal, and its still out there hidden away in the fields.

see - and you thought i wasnt a weirdo

meanwhile its back to welding in a few hours - must get the xr done, santa pod beckons

Monty100 · 13/02/2010 00:53
