he needs a lot of training. He's lived on his own way too long I think.

Even his friends complain alot that he's not lively enough, preferring an early night to meeting up with them.

The plus is that he's very honest and trustworthy, a rare breed in my experience!

sincitylover · 02/11/2009 23:30

I also try to remain sceptical but hmmm.

Some men do get very consumed with work issues to the exclusion of many other things.

Samename was feeling very depressed about work and didn't want to burden me - he said.

DS2 also a cancerian and in his own little world and quite sweet.

Ah juicy - has bb quite got to you? It's hard when people get under your skin. Date sounds good though.

Mousie - so glad you are happy with nm.

hellsbrokenloose · 02/11/2009 23:31

anyway, that little fright has taken the last of my energy!

Night, and thanks for the welcome, shall drop in tommorrow

thesouthsbelle · 03/11/2009 08:07

hi all.

mousie - glad you're all loved up still.

RJ - you are a naughty one. Do you not think you possibly have mroe feelings for beach bum to try it one final time with him?

sin/hell - lol @ you 2.

I think the stars thing does mean quite a bit yes. i'm v v true to mine. (fwiw my dad is a leo - end of july) and he does as you say this chap does - goes off into his own little world up the garden. pissed the hell out of mum thou. have a chat with him. could just be that he's really laid back, gets tired and simply forgets with everything else going on in the day?

I'm doing ok thanks at the mo - well my legs are killing after combat y'day v sore, and my arthritis is killing even more. (so so sore today) oh and also kidneys are killing for unknown reasons - deep joy! Spoke to GBF y'day - who funnily enough now has totally revised his thoughts on gymboy and is actually talking a lot of sense. so no idea. but his opinion is one which is highly valued. still was fantastic to catch up on the gossip about each other & the kids. gymboy left an answer phone message saying he didn't want to make a choice which would come back to bite him on the arse. god knows. (but least i'm not taking the calls now! - it's progress I tell u! )

DONTtouchMUMSspecialJUICE · 03/11/2009 08:15

belle - good your finally putting gymboy to bed (in your mind iykwim )

beachbum still refuses to meet in closed quarters when we do met.no idea what his problem is. as much as he's bugging me. he is starting to bug me cancelling and rearranging.

Betty79 · 03/11/2009 09:27

belle-good for u for not answering his call, hope u deleted the message too!

juice-sounds like ur date was good, but shame u couldnt get beachbum outta ur head. I dont really know the history with beachbum, were u seeing him long?

Hells-hope u manage to get some answers, maybe it is just his character?

Think ive got another date for wed/thurs just got to sort a babysitter, never did hear from footiebloke again so have deleted his number lol

got girls night out sat too and could really do with some no strings fun

hellsbrokenloose · 03/11/2009 10:24

Morning all, thanks again for making me welcome

True as I said it would be, he text me at 7am with his good morning.

I'm relieved that you didn't just say dump him, dump him-I just don't know what it is with him but I really believe that if I persevere it will evolve naturally. Will have to wait and see.

So, what is everyone elses story here? I take it from the title of the thread that a good man is hard to find....oh god I know it was in my case, one marriage behind me and now with someone that confuses the pants off me!

Betty79 · 03/11/2009 10:34

Hells-well if u get texts that early he is thinking of u when he gets up! Do u speak/text during the day too? Have u thought about where u want things to go, and told him?

I've not been on here long, I'm divorced too have been since june, but been single since aug 08! I decided to give online dating a try, so I'm a bit new to all this lol

DONTtouchMUMSspecialJUICE · 03/11/2009 13:30

i've been on this thread since about feb when i started dating after splitting with dc dad last oct.

online and real life dating.

learned alot about myself and what i'm after and what i will tolerate along the way. now finally at a stage where i have my head in the right place to have a proper relationship. had a couple of "things" since feb. all great for repairing a broken self esteem.

but gotten to enjoy my single life. so there really is no hurry.

as for finding a good man... that isn't hard. i've encountered a few. but getting a good man who you WANT to enter proper relationship because they are fit, interesting and available is a bit harder.

there are tossers out there. but you meet them everywhere. important thing is to spot them and send them packing.

sincitylover · 03/11/2009 13:55

Juicy I think you've come a very long way in a very short time.

TBH it took me about 8 months after we split for me to even flirt with someone.

How long were you with exp for?

DONTtouchMUMSspecialJUICE · 03/11/2009 14:02

6 years.

Betty79 · 03/11/2009 14:07

I never really thought of dating as learning about myself but am coming round to that idea now

lou33 · 03/11/2009 15:02

i dont even think i am looking for "the one" as i dont believe he exists tbh

i am happy enough spending time with someone fit interesting and available etc, and enjoying it for what it is until it comes to a natural conclusion

ive been split with exh 4 yrs in about 10 days time

sincitylover · 03/11/2009 15:11

juicy - just seen your photos on fb and have requested you as a friend. You look such fun

DONTtouchMUMSspecialJUICE · 03/11/2009 15:20

accepted you... fun often translates to stupid/idiotic with me though

i know i shouldn't do it but i just cant help myself.

thesouthsbelle · 03/11/2009 15:39

i've been separated for about 26 months, we were together for 8.5 years - married for 4.5 he was abusive.

seen a few people in that time, was with XP for about 10 months or so I think, b4 I packed him in - wasn't right from about 6 months but he'd met DS. but that broke it for me in the end - he got the arse big time when I said no he couldn't get in the bath with DS. . really don't care love but his dad doesn't do it so you're sure as hell not gonna! only other person who i've really really taken a shine to (aside from the sailor at the beginning who tbh was well he was lust!) has been gymboy. In a lot of ways I just wish he was a total cock and really nasty so I could hate him, forget about him & move on. but how many times does someone come along who is genuine, takes a step back, thinks long term, isn't a player/user - (know this now for a fact he's not) but that you can have a riot with, be yourself around, and be totally on the same wave length - to be able to learn from them and teach them as well - it's v rare (least I think it is) but ah well - never mind. I know he has the issue of DS, but that knife also has a flip side as well - he see's DS & I as a package & knows ultimately if anything did happen further down the line then he would step into some sort of parenting role. maybe i've been too hasty, or not enough who knows. miss him thou.

RJ - think you're right thou it's a learning experience that's for sure. why is beach bum doing that then?

DONTtouchMUMSspecialJUICE · 03/11/2009 15:43

he wont meet in closed quarters as he refuses to be more than friends as i keep finishing. fair enough. but also a bit daft. he insists if we are somewhere not public then he will do something... and it wouldn't be fair on him as he has feelings

new age metrosexual"in touch with feelings" men are confusing for me. give me a caveman anyday

thesouthsbelle · 03/11/2009 15:48

yeah I hear ya on that one. lol.

gymboy is the first non player i've known and tbh it's really messing my head up more than players - least u know where u are with them.

DONTtouchMUMSspecialJUICE · 03/11/2009 15:58

cavemen aren't always player though.

they're just much simplier.

honest, straight to point, get things done without games or confusion... and as you say you know where you stand.

if they say they are busy or dont want to then they mean it.

it's not a translation for "i really have an issue and lets have a long meaningful chat..,, bla bla,, zzzzzzzzzzzzz"

sincitylover · 03/11/2009 16:02

yes no metrosexuals for me either

lou33 · 03/11/2009 16:32

thesouthsbelle · 03/11/2009 16:34

I just like knowing where u stand!

sincitylover · 03/11/2009 16:39

Betty79 · 03/11/2009 17:03

lou33 · 03/11/2009 17:21
