Agree with what the others said, essbee. See your doctor and tell them everything. I know what you are like for keeping problems to yourself.

if GP isn't helpful you must change GPs. This has gone on long enough.

well make sure you are booked in with a different GP from last time, as you felt that she didn't take you seriously last time.

are you taking a multivitamin? don't know if anaemia would make you faint like that - could defo make you feel dizzy - but a multivit with iron wouldn't do any harm

tigermoth · 22/11/2004 07:36

essbee that was scary. Glad you're feeling better now, but I still think you should speak to your gp today, even if you just phone them up. I don't know much about your gp, but if you don't feel good about them, do change. IME gps vary a lot in their attitude towards patients.

There could be a simple explanation for the blackouts but I think you must take them seriously ( and tell your gp this) because you are alone in the house with your children, so if you black out they could be in danger. Also as you drive, you can't be blacking out on the road.

Can you leave an emergency number by the phone for your ds to ring if this happens again? sorry - I hope this is not coming across as too dramatic.

LIZS · 22/11/2004 08:15

essbee

I 've just seen your other thread and really hope you get to gp's first thing today, even if you now feel much better. It may all be nothing or unlucky coincidence but I'd been thinking the same as tigermoth.

Take care, and look after yourself.

Just to let everyone know, essbee called me last night. She has been diagnosed with a stomach infection and has to stay in bed for a while.

Is there anyone who lives near enough to help her out at all?

OP posts:
wobblyknicks · 23/11/2004 11:03

Thanks anorak, obviously I'm not near enough but I hope she gets better soon and gets some help.

lou33 · 23/11/2004 11:04

i am close but unable to help, because dh has gone to bristol with the car for a funeral

get well soon essbee

anorak · 23/11/2004 12:40

Obviously I'm very near but can't help out much either due to family commitments. She still looked/sounded ill this morning when I took DS & DD to school/nursery (late!). AH was apparently going to do it but wasn't answering his phone...

anorak · 23/11/2004 12:49

She has just phoned and says she does feel a little better but is very lightheaded and keeps falling asleep. I think ah is going to bring them home tonight. I am just worried for two reasons - one I think she is going to get up too soon tomorrow or the next day and try to 'resume normal service' and two she says she has nothing easy to eat in the house so she is not eating anything!

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 23/11/2004 12:55

Sigh. I'm stuck in the house now waiting for a sofa delivery from Ikea otherwise I'd take something round.

I can't nag her about this anymore but can't she ask her parents for help?

SoupDragon · 23/11/2004 12:55

Are you on MSN? I've no idea who I've got in my contacts!

ladymuck · 23/11/2004 12:56

I'm about 10 minutes away from her - CAT me if I can be of help (or Soupy has my email if that is faster).

SoupDragon · 23/11/2004 12:59

Blimey - do I? . Ah! Have connected you with your real name now

saintshar · 23/11/2004 13:03

She did say that her Parents have gone on holiday Soupy.

I wish i was nearer.

anorak · 23/11/2004 13:04

I don't really msn, soupy. Only on the rare occasion when someone really wants a one to one with me.

Not enough hours in the day!

Ah, ladymuck! what a relief to hear someone is near enough and available. I love mumsnet!

OP posts:
ladymuck · 23/11/2004 13:10

Well if someone can be explicit in what I need to do - I know where she lives, but no idea as to what she would eat...

anorak · 23/11/2004 13:21

ladymuck I have sent you a CAT with essbee's phone numbers. Thanks for offering. xx

OP posts:
saintshar · 23/11/2004 13:22

Would you like me to text / phone her ladymuck, and let you know?

anorak · 23/11/2004 13:47

I phoned her, she is expecting your call Ladymuck.

OP posts:
ladymuck · 23/11/2004 13:51

Still waiting for the CAT I'm afraid...

SoupDragon · 23/11/2004 13:53

I@ve emailled you her number

ladymuck · 23/11/2004 14:01

Have made contact - thanks! I'll report back when Essbee's pantry is restocked. And I can get my baby wipes at the same time (another thread..)
