We can only do the best we can. No point in going on housework threads if you're a working LP who never has a break from the kids. Or if you're a SAHM LP with small kids who can't get to the gym.

So, a thread for us to start the New Year with good intentions and to juggle it around everything else we have to do Smile.

  • I banned Minecraft today and tomorrow after some shocking behaviour (kicking each other in the supermarket) the dc's had a burst of enthusiasm, dysoning and tidying up to get back in my good books.
  • I have managed to get out for a few runs over Xmas. We stayed with my mum for a couple of days so I went out then.

Here's to a positive start to 2015.

fattymcfatfat · 18/03/2015 11:55

Grin yeah it could have. my mum came and helped tidy up today. she is good to me Smile

fattymcfatfat · 18/03/2015 12:25

and ive finally had my letter through about DSs follow up hearing test. (he failed the screening in school so has to have another test). so will hopefully find out on Tuesday if there is a problem or if it is just selective!

meglet · 18/03/2015 19:41

sorry, I need to catch up.

I looked at my wardrobe yesterday and realised it could do with all being pulled out and sorted out. I'll have a bash at it this weekend hopefully.

fattymcfatfat · 18/03/2015 23:38

mine needs doing aswell! will leave it until after baby is here though.

BlackeyedSusan · 20/03/2015 12:26

my wardrobe needs fixing.

in the mean time I am starting on the great clean up ... again. first job is to do the stuff that need redoing, then try to make progress. I have swept the easy end of the hall. I have cleaned the draining board and drainer. .. struggling due to tiredness.

fattymcfatfat · 20/03/2015 12:28

luckily I have built in wardrobes so not much fixing to do if they break.

my head hurts. been crying a lot today. stupid hormones

BlackeyedSusan · 20/03/2015 15:01
Sad Cake
fattymcfatfat · 20/03/2015 20:39

Smile thank you. I feel better now. I am blaming the eclipse. it messed with my moods Grin

BlackeyedSusan · 23/03/2015 12:17

how are you today fmfc?

I am catching up with housework. puts ome washing in, put dry pots away, cleaned sink and draining board, washed up, wiped up bits and bobs, put some shopping away... hung quite a bit of the children's clean laundry ... a; because I am putting off ringing the DWP.

fattymcfatfat · 23/03/2015 12:19

much better thank you. I need to do housework but just can't be bothered yet. I need a kick up the backside

BlackeyedSusan · 23/03/2015 13:27

well, I can't be arsed to get off my backside to give you a kick... anyway tis not allowed to kick a pregnant women..

I have just sent 244 emails to the trash can.

now I need to send real stuff to the trash.

I did ring the DWP though.

fattymcfatfat · 23/03/2015 13:28

ooh yes just reminded me I need to sort through my emails!

baby has finally gone for a nap. I might join her for an hour Smile

BlackeyedSusan · 26/03/2015 15:02

arse. there is a thread in chat about struggling with cleaning. a couple of posts in and some sanctimonious git has posted about how they find it easy and you only need to spend ten minutes tidying up everyday to keep on top of it. clearly they do not have a ds whose autism fuelled meltdowns can create an hours worth of tidying in less than thirty seconds.

fattymcfatfat · 26/03/2015 15:08

or a toddler Hmm

people like that can feck off. they don't know the circumstances of anyone else

meglet · 26/03/2015 15:09

10 minutes, ha. They don't have dc's trashing the house in their wake do they!

I'm off sick today, along with ds, and have managed more than I usually do because DD isn't here to destroy it. I literally cannot turn my head without her drawing on something, deliberately throwing a drink on the floor / sofa / bed or hitting her brother.

impressed with the e-mail clean up blackeyed.

my daughter has drawn on pretty much every wall in the house Hmm.

it ranges from tiny smiley faces to her name to giant scribbles. Even the magic eraser is struggling to keep up.

ahh come to think of it, I have 2015 written on the wall. nobody is owning up to it but I recognise the writing. Grin

I have finally taken last years compost down to the garden. four heavy pots, one at a time, down two flights of stairs. the plant pots will need a wash next. got to wash up proper pots first.

meglet · 26/03/2015 18:02

the distinctive writing always amuses me Smile. Child trying to deny graffiti is hers, despite it being in her handwriting.

I have been away from this thread...I have lost 1 stone 5Lbs now. I am just about on top of cleaning at the mo . Not paperwork though.

I am trying to rethink my job as don't want to work from home anymore but as DS has just been referred to hosp Self employed seems the way to go at the minute

meglet · 26/03/2015 22:29

starlight that's a superb start to the year, well done! are you doing a specific diet or just eating healthier and moving a bit more?

OP posts:
Starlightbright1 · 26/03/2015 22:55

I am doing Slimming world. I find it works quite well with DS, means I mostly don't cook seperate meals.

meglet · 27/03/2015 09:28

today will be interesting. 8yo ds was up from 4-6am going to the toilet. so we're both shattered, I'm going to potter about in the garden and see if the sunshine helps. that and a lot of tea.

I've cleaned the patio door glass already

BlackeyedSusan · 27/03/2015 15:22

well done star.

Hope he gets better soon meg.

I have been cleaning under dd's bed. everything off, everything out from underneath, matress off, hoovered tipped bed up and hoovered underneath, put a lot of the books back.

ds has been playing on the computer as he was off school. he might have been in school if he had not dropped his medicine everywhere so i was not sure how much paracetamol he had taken. he is running a high temperature.
