We can only do the best we can. No point in going on housework threads if you're a working LP who never has a break from the kids. Or if you're a SAHM LP with small kids who can't get to the gym.

So, a thread for us to start the New Year with good intentions and to juggle it around everything else we have to do Smile.

  • I banned Minecraft today and tomorrow after some shocking behaviour (kicking each other in the supermarket) the dc's had a burst of enthusiasm, dysoning and tidying up to get back in my good books.
  • I have managed to get out for a few runs over Xmas. We stayed with my mum for a couple of days so I went out then.

Here's to a positive start to 2015.

im up with grumpy teething DD

fattymcfatfat · 05/03/2015 10:14

bump is a boy bump! DS is happy as he now is getting the little brother he wanted Grin

BlackeyedSusan · 05/03/2015 13:21

oo did you find out today?

fattymcfatfat · 05/03/2015 16:08

I found out yesterday but wasnt really on here much as my phone died.
Grin

BlackeyedSusan · 06/03/2015 22:19

the big tidy weekend starts here. well it has already started. I have started on the washing up. there was a bit of an enormous backlog.

I saw my friend yesterday. yay! working on a couple more friendships. a bit difficult with the dcs who are not keen.

fattymcfatfat · 06/03/2015 23:00

im sure they will come round.

my washing seems to be never ending and my pots have come out of nowhere Confused

BlackeyedSusan · 07/03/2015 10:35

pots breed, overnight. as does washing. socks engage in wife swapping, with one of every pair buggering off to someone elses house to compound the misery.

BlackeyedSusan · 07/03/2015 14:04

not achieved a lot. but I have swept the difficult end of the hall. cleaned the sink, put the dry pots away, wiped up a bit and put some of the shopping away.

fattymcfatfat · 07/03/2015 16:34

I have been shopping. and managed to get the ex to agree to the baby name I wanted Grin

BlackeyedSusan · 07/03/2015 18:09

oh heck. Went to get dd some school shoes and they do not have any with the extra supportive ankles.

BlackeyedSusan · 09/03/2015 07:54

couldn't you have just, erm registered baby anyway, legally? nice to agree but what would have happened if not?

fattymcfatfat · 09/03/2015 08:28

I couldnt be bothered with the.kick off. but thats exactly what I did with the other two. he had no choice! I may have got DS to guilt trip him a bit and tell his very silly daddy that even as a middle name Derek is feckin awful!

BlackeyedSusan · 09/03/2015 11:01

I reckon Derek will make a come back. when I was a teenager, Henry and George were ridiculed as names, now they are ten-a-penny.

anyway, I should be tidying but have run out of oomph already.

fattymcfatfat · 09/03/2015 13:40

whats tidying?

it may well make a come back but it sounds very odd for a baby to my ears. I have an uncle called george and a cousin. I thinkn thats only made a comeback due to prince George.

anyway I went for a nap this morning with DD and DS as he is unwell and someone started banging on my door. I didn't answer it as if it was someone that I know then they will have phoned me first. But they came to my window (I know because my dog had jumped.up.at it and knocked the letters off the window ledge) so now im terrified it was ss and they were being nosy. irrational I know Sad

BlackeyedSusan · 09/03/2015 15:55

tidying is keeping the falt in a state that is tidier and cleaner than something that would give ss cause for concern. this is not easy with a small boy who throws things. and an ex who refuses to take his stuff away

fattymcfatfat · 11/03/2015 12:15

I have ended up on crutches so now housework is even more difficult Sad

BlackeyedSusan · 11/03/2015 12:23

oh no. Sad

meglet · 11/03/2015 22:29

great news on the name fatty.

I've been on pinterest too much lately and have started batch cooking again. I've been portioning off some main meals, a fruity breakfast porridge and prepping a couple of days worth of salads. my kitchen is now full of new freezeable and microwaveable containers. rock 'n' roll.

BlackeyedSusan · 11/03/2015 23:22

way to go meg. good work.

I need to box up the extra tonight. did not plan extra just misjudged.

fattymcfatfat · 12/03/2015 07:55

im forever making too much so containers are everywhere! probably causes half of the clutter in my kitchen Wink

BlackeyedSusan · 17/03/2015 14:44

I am relying on the extra containers this week as the children have to be in school earlier. this is distrupting our routine completely and is going to take ds a week or two to get back to normal. .

fattymcfatfat · 17/03/2015 16:21

oh dear. that doesn't sound good. well healthy eating is going out of the window tonight. I am sore and cant be bothered cooking so takeaway it is
