We can only do the best we can. No point in going on housework threads if you're a working LP who never has a break from the kids. Or if you're a SAHM LP with small kids who can't get to the gym.

So, a thread for us to start the New Year with good intentions and to juggle it around everything else we have to do Smile.

  • I banned Minecraft today and tomorrow after some shocking behaviour (kicking each other in the supermarket) the dc's had a burst of enthusiasm, dysoning and tidying up to get back in my good books.
  • I have managed to get out for a few runs over Xmas. We stayed with my mum for a couple of days so I went out then.

Here's to a positive start to 2015.

go to my mothers
state
children

anyway. two loads of washing now hung one more in the machine.
washing up done.
half the hall swept and partially tidied.
paintwork and radiator wiped from filthy to slightly marked. (working on the principle that perfect is the enemy here as the whole place needs improving, no point having gleaming paintwork and mucky floors)

just having a break before tackling some more of the troublesome areas...

just made a coffee and the next task will be to put the shopping away, possible finish the hall.

FMcFF I would love to be at the stage of reasonably tidy with cluttered cupboards! I did the 31 day decluttering challenge but mainly only the stuff that was visible. not cleaning out the kitchen undersink cupboard when I need to tack the fifty million carrier bags in the kitchen.

got to scrub a spiderman and lobster later. charity shop finds.

BlackeyedSusan · 28/02/2015 16:28

Grrrrrrinding t o a h a l t..

only just managed to hang the rest of the washing. I ought to cleect another load to put in the machinne until I have space to hang up some more. lost the will to do more at the moment. soon it will be time to tackle tea and make a load more washing up.

fattymcfatfat · 28/02/2015 20:31

well I have done nothing for two days. my shopping is still sat on the kitchen table. im just too sore Sad but apparently I dont qualify for any extra support as im supposed to magically get better once baby is born...yeah because your pelvis just sticks itself back together again [skeptical] and I was soo much better after having DD that I had to have physio until she was ten months and the only reason I couldn't have more is because I had used up my nhs sessions not because I was better. grrr....Angry

BlackeyedSusan · 28/02/2015 21:20

well yeah actually, it does, and pretty quickly too. oh the joy of being able to walk more than 200 m without pain. (well when the stiches healed, now that was something else initself)

fattymcfatfat · 28/02/2015 21:26

yep I obviously didn't need that physio Grin I just like pretending to be in pain... dont get me started on the feckin stitches
why cant we just have a tidy up fairy? it would make life much easier

BlackeyedSusan · 28/02/2015 22:56

they not giving you physio? I had some exercises, did not make much difference though. helps Ihad a car to drive though so not a lot of walking. got to big to drive at about 8 months. couldn't reach the brake in the middle comfortably.

fattymcfatfat · 28/02/2015 23:04

I can get two sessions but I have to get up to the hospital for half nine in the morning. .. I can go back and wait for a gp referral but it could end up being too late (when I had DD I could only get it afterwards as the referral took so long they wanted me to go on my due date!)

BlackeyedSusan · 28/02/2015 23:22

well that is really helpful [sarcastic]

meglet · 28/02/2015 23:25

why does pregnancy have to throw up such awful ailments and screw up pelvises or make us puke our guts up Sad . when are you due fatty?

black did your charity shop finds come up nice after a clean?

fattymcfatfat · 28/02/2015 23:35

July so a while yet, but my doc cant seem to pull his finger out of his backside and get anything done. the only time he has put a rush on anything is when I went through my cancer scare last year.

fattymcfatfat · 28/02/2015 23:38

Black yes the lobster! I had to re read that bit a couple of times as my brain just wouldn't register that it was a toy...I was wondering how you found a lobster in a charity shop for a couple of seconds Grin

BlackeyedSusan · 01/03/2015 09:34

they are upstairs and scrubbed well with soap. I really do not know what possesd me to get a bloody great big lobster. i already have to fight the octopus to get at the taps.

pregnancy left me so nauseous and exhausted that I could not go out for several weeks. then there was a couple of good weeks, then an unstable pelvis which meant I could not walk very far at all. not to mention heartburn, splayed ribs feet that grew a whoile shoe size, swelling ankles and feet, and the need to pee every thirty seconds.

BlackeyedSusan · 01/03/2015 09:34

anyway two scrubbed toys means two less carrier bags hanging around.

fattymcfatfat · 01/03/2015 15:27

I want to know where my bloody glow is Grin I am a spotty hormonal mess with sickness and spd, an unstable spine and im not allowed to eat food that I love!

anyways the ex hasn't seen the demons for as long as he is meant to the past couple of times as he was working. so he asked if he could see them today for a bit. yeah ok.
he turns up sends me to read a book in bed, I come.down and my house looks normal-ish again. ..I think hes ill. either that or the nutter thinks if he is nice I will fall back into his arms haha Grin

meglet · 01/03/2015 15:42

'fighting the octopus to get the taps' Grin .

fattymcfatfat · 01/03/2015 15:50

im thinking blacks bathroom is like an aquarium! I bet she knows random facts about the creatures she collects aswell. like a personal plastic sea life centre Grin

BlackeyedSusan · 01/03/2015 20:21

we have: a crab that looks like a bloody spider if turned the other way. not screamed in error, oh no a clown fish, two starfish, though one is missing, a stingray, out of scale, dolphin, baby dolphin, and humped back whale, enormous octopus and lobster which dwarfs the mammals.

fattymcfatfat · 01/03/2015 21:21

I wouldnt be able to fit all that in my bath! im sure it was designed for children only. I have to put my legs over the side if I want to lean back!

meglet · 01/03/2015 21:22

I've been perusing pinterest again and made a baked oatmeal 'casserole' thingy for breakfasts this week. It's basically a big flapjack with raspberries, blueberries and bananas. I will report back later in the week and let you know if a) we all like it and b) it makes breakfasts easier.

is anyone else watching the comic relief darts on bbc2? Grin

fattymcfatfat · 02/03/2015 10:03

meglet that sounds strangely delicious.
we had crumpets this morning yum Grin

BlackeyedSusan · 02/03/2015 23:26

well, I had lentil bolognase with loads of veggies but mince pie with cream for pudding

not walked so much today, though I had to run to school as I was late for pick up.

I am spotty and achey. beats spotty and depressed. the hormone blues hit yesterday. that is better than the horrmone murderous rage though.

fattymcfatfat · 03/03/2015 10:32

well out of six physio exercises I can do two without too much pain Sad

BlackeyedSusan · 03/03/2015 18:03

I am not sitting on my backside whinging on Mn. this post is definitely a figment of your imagination...

fattymcfatfat · 03/03/2015 18:29

Grin I have an awesome imagination. ..I could have sworn suze posted

BlackeyedSusan · 03/03/2015 22:26

I have washed up, mostly, at least beat it back to an acceptable level. washing has been done and hung. I cooked tea and need to put the rest in the freezer. I am shattered.
