Anyone fancy a single parent's camping trip?

I was just thinking that this is in most SP's price range (camping in general I mean) and how it would be really boring/hard to do it alone...although admittedly I have never tried but the thought of setting up a tent with DD running riot makes my brain bleed a little.
So...if it isn't too weird an idea....does anyone else fancy it?

And definitely air show here, my monkey is obsessed with planes

LlamaLover · 27/05/2013 09:19

And I've just seen there is a dinosaur museum nearby too.

You can use Tesco vouchers to get in to wonderland,.ay least you used to be able to. :)

Lioninthesun · 27/05/2013 13:28

DD napping and I just googled the Adventure Wonderland place - amazeballs! Found this too www.vouchercloud.com/adventure-wonderland-vouchers
Think we will just bring our dome 3 an or pop-up tent so if anyone does want to pitch share we'd be up for it :)
So glad some of you will have transport - we will have to travel pretty light and stock up there on food etc!

My best friend got a tesco online shop delivered to a festival once, including about £100 worth of booze.

Everyone laughed but i think it was genius!

Does anyone feel up to co-operating on the food front?

Lioninthesun · 27/05/2013 18:24

Oh HH that is indeed genius!
It may be worth calling Dominoes delivery on our first night then ;)

HerrenaHarridan · 27/05/2013 18:40

Isn't it? I only wish I could take the credit Grin

Is it dominos that do the half an hour or its free deal?

Definitely think takeaway first night, will keep an eye for vouchers, 2 for 1s etc and it shouldn't work out to expensive. And of course everyone loves pizza!

IneedAyoniNickname · 27/05/2013 18:50

Remember if its too far out they won't deliver .but worth checking!

youarewinning · 27/05/2013 18:52

I'm in Hampshire.

Would be interested in something around this way and cheap!

youarewinning · 27/05/2013 18:58

Doh - totally skipped page 2!

I work in school so that weekend no good a on back to work mode - however I'm only an hour to Bournemouth and would love to meet if you do the air show? I would be providing an 8yo, oh no 9yo by then DS!
I could also pick 3 people up on route in my car if that makes travel easier?

IneedAyoniNickname · 27/05/2013 19:04

Winning yes please join us for the day that would be lovely :) ds1 is the same age (8 now but will be 9) oh Christ I really hope I can make this holiday :)

HerrenaHarridan · 27/05/2013 19:44

Yoni, you need to figure out if these dates work for you sharp ish, so we can figure out new ones if they don't.
How would it be if instead of running Friday to Friday we did say Tuesday to Tuesday (27-2) the 27 being the earliest I could squeeze to.

Hi winning Smile

IneedAyoniNickname · 27/05/2013 19:58

Dates deffo work, its the cost I've got to figure out! I defibately can't do tues-tues as I'm not back from previous holiday till the tues, and need a few days to wash clothes etc

HerrenaHarridan · 27/05/2013 20:29

Right, I see I thought this was about school dates! (I'm on another planet ', Scotland, and the hols are different)

IneedAyoniNickname · 27/05/2013 21:03

Haha no I did have to check which date they.return, but its not until the 9th :)

Lioninthesun · 27/05/2013 21:03

Yoni if you like we could share a pitch to cut costs? Would that work if we had our 3man dome tent?

IneedAyoniNickname · 27/05/2013 21:05

I don't know of we can put 2 tents on 1pitch Lion, and not sure if we will all fit in one. If I ever manage to get hold of my brother i will try and borrow a big tent that we can share :)

I should be able to afford it, ill have more money coming in by then :)

Lioninthesun · 27/05/2013 21:19

Cool, well as I said am happy to share a tent if you are happy with a toddler!
We should have a little more by then as exp has finally told CSA he has a new job! Just waiting to see how much we can expect each month :)

IneedAyoniNickname · 27/05/2013 21:23

I'm happy to share :) sharing's caring lol! Just the logistics of.all fitting in.

Grockle · 27/05/2013 22:50

Oooo, I was all excited about this... but I live in Bournemouth! We can walk to the airshow so it seems a bit silly to camp further away!

If you are doing Adventure Wonderland, they take Tesco Days out vouchers... def worth doing.

Grockle · 27/05/2013 22:52

Also, if you are staying at St Leonard's, you should go to Moors Valley for a day.

janey223 · 27/05/2013 23:03

I've only ever camped at a couple of festivals so would be very nervous at a whole week - i thought it'd be weekend :-p

It is my birthday on the 28th though so maybe I should be brave!

IneedAyoniNickname · 27/05/2013 23:22

You don't have to dp a whole week janey :) just as long as you feel you can.

That's 2 birthdays to celebrate while we are there.now!

LlamaLover · 29/05/2013 07:39

So, where are we up to with this?

Has a date and place been agreed? Shall we book?

HerrenaHarridan · 29/05/2013 08:27

Kick off Friday 30th Smile

I'll have to get past rent day before I can pay deposit. Deposit is not steep but having just bought my dream teeny tiny campervan and failed my stupid driving test again I'm right in the line to meet rent. Think I can book by the 5th
