Anyone fancy a single parent's camping trip?

I was just thinking that this is in most SP's price range (camping in general I mean) and how it would be really boring/hard to do it alone...although admittedly I have never tried but the thought of setting up a tent with DD running riot makes my brain bleed a little.
So...if it isn't too weird an idea....does anyone else fancy it?

I just looked at that one Herrena, in August the price spikes so high. I put details in for 1adult 2children, it would be over £100 for 3 nights.

Mind you the st Leonard's one is £70 for 3 nights in August. Thing is, the closer they get to the beach, the more they cost.

Hi Can I join? My sister lives in Winchester and I love the new forest. Have a DD age 4 and a DS age 2. They would LOVE Peppa Pig world but I have held off both camping and peppa pig world this year as think it will be such hard work on my own since only becoming a SP six months ago! I am not going to be crying into my soup though! Really fancy the camp fire/hot choc baileys and a giggle scenario !

I still think the St Leonards one sounds best - sandy beaches are only 7 miles away it says! I don't think we will get much cheaper in the area than £11 per night. If we book all together they may do a discount if we ask nicely?

I'm happy with the st Leonard's one too. :) its only 2 miles from wonderland (the Alice in wonderland place I mentioned too)

I do think if we called and explained we don't all have cars - i.e only 3/4 cars between 8 tents they may give us a discount... Has to be worth a try!

janey there are a few of us not driving, and you are more than welcome! I will be trekking in from Kent (prob via train) with a buggy straining under the weight of a tent and sleeping bags etc. I did 9 months around Oz with a backpack about the size of my torso...I think it may be time to hook that badboy out of the loft!

Actually just looked at the train journey from my town to Bournemouth station and I have to change at Victoria to Clapham Junction anyway, which is where the direct train goes from. If you are training it perhaps we could try for the same train? I'll be quite easy to spot I imagine!

Definitely worth trying for a discount for group booking, a motorhome pitch is usually allowed an awning and a tent. So some one may be able to pitch their tent in 'my' motorhome pitch.

Ok, tell them it's the teeny tiniest motorhome that its possible to have, it's exactly the same size as a bedford Bambi and only has 970cc engine

Looking at booking to go in August 3rd Aug for five or six days with my ten year old girl and 6 year old boy.

Beach is twenty mins walk away. Train station not far. A supermarket is within walking distance. Campsite is great for kids and tyhe island of holyhead/anglesey has loads of fun (and relatively cheap things to do )

Ah, my DD's b.day falls then so wouldn't be able to make it even if the train wasn't a little daunting to Wales!

Train goers could meet at clapham junction? It's pretty easy to get to for most I'd reckon, train would start at either Waterloo or London bridge if its not Victoria and they're a nightmare from here.

Ok, have spoken to them.
there are no discounts for no cars/groups etc.
We can have a pup tent, I misread that bit.
The lady recommends coming from 30th august onwards, as it is cheaper then. £22 per night for electric, £17 for standard. But she said it books up quickly as its the air show that weekend.
Does anyone have 'big' tents that they could share? Then costs are shared? Although sharing with strangers would be odd!

I am happy to share with others but DD is liable to do the usual toddler ransack of bags if unattended in the tent - just to pre warn! I have visions of us thinking she is asleep while she empties all of my shampoo/conditioner all over our clothes in the dead of night...
Yes, it takes me an hour and a bit to get to Clapham J but happy to meet somewhere there about 12/1ish and then aim to get to the site 3ish?

I've got to check which date the dc go back to school, but otherwise am ok with that date. My bday is 31st so wine will be a must :)
Ive only got a 4man tent, but can see if I can borrow something bigger.
Does that train come through Reading?
