Lone parents

Anyone fancy a single parent's camping trip?

I was just thinking that this is in most SP's price range (camping in general I mean) and how it would be really boring/hard to do it alone...although admittedly I have never tried but the thought of setting up a tent with DD running riot makes my brain bleed a little.
So...if it isn't too weird an idea....does anyone else fancy it?

Love this idea ... would be great to do a northern camping trip too .. Me & my boys go camping, I bought a tent that pretty much puts itself up because it's just me and them .. be great though to go with other single parents Grin

Hi! So sorry I went off the radar there!
Been a bit hectic IRL and this had to go on the back burner for me.
I may have an offer of a lift down, and if I can do that then I might be able to afford it again - HUZZAH!
Has anyone booked? Feel bad that I went AWOL Sad

I also like the idea of a big single parent pow wow. Its really nice to be with a group of people on holiday. campfires etc. When will this be and for how long? I can come by train with a tent and my son who is nine in July. Best time for me is anytime after July 23rd to August 3rd or August 11 onwards. I hope to join you.

I don't know, im not sure I can afford it before my other holiday. Plus its ds1s bday on 21st, and I'd need a couple of days to wash/dye.clothes before bank holiday, so realistically could only do until19th.

O think the best thing will be to stick to original dates .and ill just come for the weekend

Yes true saving time is vital.

Pretty sure lion is busy first 2 weeks in August.
And I'm busy 22-25

How about the 14-21?

Still misses your birthday though Sad
not that it will stop is celebrating

It's up to you really like I said, I'm happy to try and rejig and I'm happy for you to just come for a few days in pup tent.

Inconsiderate favours indeed! Grin

Surely that's the point of a pup tent though? That people stay in it? Probably should check I guess!

I'm.not sure if we could find other dates, unless we bring it way forward, which means there won't be time to save :(

And I know, my birthday :( grrr, I love my mum,.and I know I'm so lucky to have her taking us away, but she could have bloody warned me she was trying to book those dates!

But yoooooooni! Your birthday!

Nooooooooo!

Damn inconsiderate favours!

It's ok, no ones booked yet so I'm more than happy to try and jiggle it around for you.

If we can't figure out dates that work better, I'm happy to put up a my two man tent as a pup tent and you can come use that and still hve some space and privacy.

May have to clear it with the site though, they may not be too impressed with someone rolling up one day and saying "no we have booked we're kipping in our mates tent!"
Although I don't think they could really argue the toss if the tents not overcrowded Confused

I'm already away thurs till tues over the bank holiday, and boys are back to school on the 9th.

Maybe we could do one/two nights and share someone's tent? (and the cost for those nights obv)

Oh no Yoni!
Is everyone else OK with dates? If not maybe we could move it back a week?

Ladies, I don't think I can come :( (we need a crying emotion)

I asked mum today which day she had pencilled in for us doing something, and it turns out she has pencilled in 4 days! And when I say pencilled in, I mean booked and paid for a holiday, without telling me! Now obviously I feel that I shouldn't complain, as after all am getting a free holiday, but kinda Pissed off that she didn't think of checking the dates with me first!

Excellent. Thanks for the tip. I think my old Glastonbury tent is too grim for a toddler! I'll go have a look at a three man. I really hope I can come. It would be lovely to join in!

Is it easy to get to from bus/train? Can't see a detailed map on their page...
Oh god. There is a giant spider on my bed. Fuuuuuck.
Er, off for a bit!

Hi psketti Smile

Oh an lion I hate to be the bearer if bad news but a couple of reviews said about no fires so its worth checking about bbqs (and of course you can have fantasy BBQ as much as you like, after all there's no calories Grin)

Yoni called them last time. If we compose a list if questions I don't mind calling this time.

So;
Is it camp where you like or will we need to arrange adjoining pitches?

Bbqs yes or no

Bus stop nearby?

...insert question here...

ThePskettiIncident another 2yo! Huzzah! Go Outdoors has/had a sale on and had a 3man tent for under £30 :) I was tempted as haven't used mine in years and want to check it hasn't been eaten by mice or anything. Roll on more sun so I can get it out in the garden!

The reviews said you can choose where you pitch but its worth checking this is still the case.

If we are looking for specific things it worth mentioning to them.
For instance if thy have hard standing for vans we need to be pitching tents next to this so I can park on it.

Some people may prefer to be right near the kids play park for in the day time.

Distance from toilet is another consideration

When is everyone going to book? Was thinking of doing it early/mid June as hoping to have £ from ex by then... hahaha
Do we need to say we want to be near each other on the site somehow or is it a turn up and get a place they allocate situ? I have an image of us being near a picnic bench or two so we can do BBQ's or something and all sit around not too far from our tents?
Am aware this is probably a complete dream world!
