paulFirstly, a very very happy birthday to you and BTW I'm so jealous you're only 44:(great the kids brought you BIB, like dumps said, you've done a bloody good job:)

dumps What a flippin wonderful day you had, sounds great, and obviously cheered you up no end:)and the ex walking in? Brave girl, hope you held your head up high:)now......need more details on the online dating (nosy cow) Shock

catapult Hey, glad to hear you're fighting fit, sorry not been around early for me Brew have you got a discharge date yet? must be soon, mind you you won't have been let off for good behaviour Wink planted some tomatoes myself at the w/e, but not sure they'll stand up to all the windy weather:(

corine you poor love, enjoy your mini break and at least forget about it for a few days:)

joely hope all is well?

rock how's your little cherub? Bella been up to any tricks lately? Actually, have YOU been up to any tricks lately Shock how bout recipes? I salivate just reading your culinary experiences, all those flavours and no calories, WW & SW eat your heart out Grin. Hmm my sis, well, I've just been on to Amazon and ordered her a book called Why does he do that by Lundy Bancroft, it's been mentioned on here several times and it's got rave reviews (what a sad admission) on Amazon. I'm hoping she will read it and realise it's not her. You know she's even apologised for her behaviour (leaving the teabags on the sink instead of putting them straight in the bin) I dunno, guess I'm too long in the tooth for all that old shite, wouldn't/couldn't tolerate that. The sad thing is, she's 64 (the eldest) now wouldn't you want some peace in your halcyon days? I hope she sees the light and soon...

waves to everyone else....have had yet another glass of Wine(have drunk wine every night for the last 4 nights, only one or two mind) nicely mellow:)

RockStockandTwoOpenBottles · 23/05/2011 20:39

Hello Everyone,

Paul Hippy Happy Birthday to you and how wonderful that the DCs have spoilt you so beautifully today. I also echo the above, in that you absolutely should be extremely proud of the gorgeous people you are raising.

Dumps I'm on stuff for you BTW, will be in touch in the next couple of days.

Catapult the forecast for all of Spain is fantastic for this next week, so DD should be very happy when they arrive! 27 today and pretty much that all week. Beaches done, carpet at the ready Grin Now you need to behave and get yourself out of there!!!

Corine is it this weekend that you're off? Have a fab time and forget everything and just enjoy yourself. x

Ten Well....we spent Saturday afternoon and early evening here Grin Me - drinking THE best mojitos I have ever had and Bella was right in with the dancers! They do about 15 minutes every hour wearing not very much (in the grand scheme of things) - elaborate bikini tops and micro skirts. On Saturday they were in yellow mostly and Bella thought they were fab and marched right up to them and joined in. She then spent most of their breaks 'hanging' with them and playing. There were some green eyed twenty something good looking young men due to the fact that they happily let Bella sit on their knees, but gave the blokes a wide berth!!

Culinary wise, I've just plucked about 40 lemons of the last tree, some of which are the size of grapefruit - I kid you not! So will be trying out a lemony chicken couscous tomorrow and making a batch of lemon squash as it's sooooo refreshing. Now that's it's properly warmed up I'm cooking mostly fish and seafood. Clams are right in - the lovely sweet carpetshell ones and Bella also adores them so we're having them every which way this week! Had them with wine/garlic/chilli and spaghetti this evening. Making a Paella tomorrow as she absolutely loves it and I can get just about every food group possible into it!

Some Wine for you all, will come up with some sort of exciting lemony cocktail tomorrow!

WillIEverBeASizeTen · 23/05/2011 20:51

Rock Ooh that link was harsh, and then the fresh lemons/clams/paella whilst basking in 27degrees.....positively cruel....

Your Bella sounds an absolute scream Grin

OP posts:
RockStockandTwoOpenBottles · 23/05/2011 21:18

I suppose it was a tad harsh Grin

She is! She's mad!

Joelybear · 23/05/2011 21:32

Hi all , think we should get the Birthday Party going - cue the music and lets all sing (just hope it doesnt make more rain for us!

Paul "Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy birthday Dear Paul, Happy Birthday to you."
Well done everyone great singing.
Don@t worry I made it to 44 a few months ago and its a fine age to be. I'll always be a few months ahead of you -in age-I guess, so will let you know what its like so you don't need to worry!! Age is all in the mind and I don't mind anymore!! You're children sound great and a real credit to the great mom they have in you.

Rock can you russel up some birthday cake for us for Paul? Maybe a nice lemon one with all those lemons going!

Catapult Can you share the Wine with us from you back pack thing - we won't drink too much of it well not in one go!

Ten can you boild the kettle for the Brew incase we need to sober up

Dumps have you sorted the present?!!

Think a party is just what we all need any one else wanting to join in please do.

Life for me is chaotic and grotty. DS 1 (18yrs) really struggling with things and off work sick at moment. Think he will leave his job in next week or two as not able to cope working in same place as his dad!!! So he is notin a good place at the moment. Am trying to make time just for him but difficult when juggling work, 5DC's, home life and my own emotions. Wish the rollercoaster ride would stop.

XH had Little ones today as me working - DC3 (4yrs) came home and said "I didn't like OW soup, I think mommys soup is the best" HA HA 1-0 to me Grin

Joelybear · 23/05/2011 21:34

Mean DC 4 or DS 3 (4yrs)
Oh age is getting to me!!

Dumpsville · 23/05/2011 22:38

Joely Good post, really made me laugh. Loving the 1-0 soup score. My DD seems to have become OW's greatest fan, and is totally enamoured by here - which just STICKS IN MY BLOODY THROAT! Sorry....... did I say that out loud!!!!!
And JoelyBear it's a bit late to tell me to get the birthday present now.......a little bit of notice before the shops shut would have been slightly nicer!!!!! And....how come all that Ten had to do was boil a bloody kettle - and I get the shopping while the shops are shut job!!!
Love to all
Dumps x

jamestkirk · 23/05/2011 23:14

hi paulwellerfan and happy birthday:o!!!!

and 44 isnt old - youre the same age as me now - is a cool age:o

Joelybear · 23/05/2011 23:32

Dumps Sorry about that but didn't realise it was Pauls birthday either till I saw her post this evening!! Shopping when the shops are shut is the best way to save money though - unless you go online shopping and the shops are open all the time then!
Maybe we could just make a present. Wink DD (6yrs) has some lovely beads we could thread on a piece of string to make a necklace and matching bracelet set - What do you think? Grin

james you're right 44 is a real cool age an life begins here ......

well shame not more of you made it to the party maybe we can continue it tomorrow evening. Can others give us a days notice of birthdays so we can celebrate them in style with Wine, Biscuit, Brew + Cake aswell as each others company!!
Night night all xx

jamestkirk · 23/05/2011 23:45

thanks joely - nite to you too :)

Dumpsville · 24/05/2011 10:23

Morning Ladies
Joely I'm liking the beads and bracelet combo idea. Let's go with that - it's a shame they don't have a little picturey thingy that we could insert, and make it virtual jewellery!

Here is the update on online dating. It's actually quite good fun, although I do find it rather remarkable that I have been mostly contacted by men in their late 50's and 60's. Do all men look for women considerably younger? Don't answer that question, I think it is rhetorical!!! Anyway, I have been out for coffee last week with a nice man and we are meeting for lunch again on Thursday. However, just so you can all see what complete loony-tunes are out there - and to give you a bit of a laugh on a sunny morning......here is the profile statement for a guy who sent me a 'wink' yesterday. Please bear in mind that his name is Steve and he is fat and ugly.... Please let me know if you think I should contact him!!!! Love Dumps x

Please only "apply" if you can to keep me interested and to do that you either have to be intelligent to communicate on my level - wit wise, OR you must have a real good bum..... if you have both - fetch your coat! - (actually, I'd get it for you as I am a gentleman) XX
I AM ENGLISH, EMPLOYED, HAVE A PASSPORT, AM NOT MARRIED OR IN ANY RELATIONSHIP. I ALSO HAVE A CONSCIENCE AND TREAT PEOPLE AS I WOULD EXPECT TO BE TREATED MYSELF. I DON'T LIE AND WILL NOT EXAGGERATE MYSELF OR MY STANDING - (means no b0ll0cks).
############# PLease take notice of this bit first #############################################
YOU MAY BE LOOKING AT THIS WHILE DECIDING WHETHER TO CHAT TO ME OR NOT, JUST HAVE THE DECENCY TO REPLY PLEASE.
IF YOU HAVE NO SENSE OF HUMOUR OR A LARGE CHUNK OF WITT AND IT'S UNDERSTANDINGS..... THEN I AM NOT FOR YOU.
WHY IS IT SO GODDAMN HARD TO GET A NORMAL WOMAN TO GET IN TOUCH AND COMMUNICATE WITH US?
#################################################################################################
Come on.... surely there is someone who can stimulate my mind, set my pulse racing at the very thought of them and can communicate on my level !!!
No I am not academic but, I do crave similar intelect and wit.
Firstly, we all prefer the "personal approach" so please don't send ice breakers. Most people will not reply to them, that includes me! So, include my name in the title of your message and I will read it and reply as necessary. Thanks. X
Also, best just say that everything stated/shown here IS 100% TRUE!!
(unlike some women and MOST guys) : 0 )
Friendly and initially shy guy, been knocked about a bit by lifes' wonderous adventures but am still willing to try again! Like a laugh, always finding light of most situations - that doesn't always go down well (funerals, hospitals etc :O) Heavens, how bad am I. LOL But seriously, if quick witt is on your agenda... I might just hit the spot!
Would love to find someone for ME, for NOW, for EVER. (well soppy eh) But I know I am far from perfect and not most ladies cups of tea, but I ask that the following "stereotypes" don't bother contacting me...
1, Smokers - YUK
2, Heavy drinkers
3, "Party-party" women who need to be out continuously.
4, The type of woman who is up her own bottom.
5, Anyone who finds it hard to consider their partners' feelings.
6, Anyone likely to be unfaithfull.
7, Nobody who has anything to do with drugs.
Sorry, but I am being honest. Please ask for any other information you wish.

WillIEverBeASizeTen · 24/05/2011 23:03

dumps that profile is bloody hilarious! He'll make you laugh for sure...

This is just a quickie, will follow up tomorrow..

sleep tight all xx

Dumps Well it takes all sorts to make the world go round. There is rather a shopping list on that guy - think you all ready know the answer of whether to respond to the wink!! But good for a laugh

Tryin to go to bed earlier than last nights 2.30 am, no wonder we have such a rush to be out the house by 8.45 am - thats me (for work), DS 4 (23months), DS 3 (4yrs), DD (6yrs). Good job DD is well trained at making breakfast for her and little brothers. She now learning to do toast and would given half a chance make a cup of coffee for me!! I should maybe make her wait till shes a bit older before I let her do that unsupervised so she can bring me breakfast in bed!! One day in my dreams .....

Oh looks like I'm nearly asleeeeeep Hurrray. Nite Nite x

TheHumanCatapult · 25/05/2011 05:46

psychosophyc · 25/05/2011 22:22

LP aged 44 with dd8 and ds3. Got out of an abusive relationships 2 years ago. Single now for the first time since age 20 and middle age has hit my body - alot of sags and dimples. yeerugh. Feel I will be single 4 ever as can't ever imagine exposing that to ANYONE ...

RockStockandTwoOpenBottles · 25/05/2011 22:39

Psychosophyc hello, I'm 40 with 4 DC - DDs of 17, 16 and 2 and a DS of 14.

Well, had a CRAP afternoon. Bella is officially allergic to wasp stings. She was stung last summer and her foot swelled up a lot. Today she was stung TWICE, one on each leg and her legs almost doubled in size in the areas (one thigh and other knee). Off to hospital and jabs and medicine and observation etc. Home now, but she's a miserable little thing, which is hardly surprising really. Anyway, back on Friday for some tests and most likely will be given an Epipen for the future.

Dumps basically PMSL at that dating extract! And LOVE the soup story Grin

Catapult I reckon you'll be in the naughty corner more than me Wink

Joely my big girls were making tea at 6 - as long as I'd remembered to put just enough water in the kettle for MY cup only, they could lift it and actually made (and still do) a cracking cup of tea! Do some trial with her - I think the earlier they are capable in the kitchen the better - and I don't mean that from a lazy point of view either. All three of the older ones are terrific cooks and I really believe it's because they have cooked with me since they could sit up on the side at around a year and been involved.

Ten was that you that popped in......!

Paul You ok? Very quiet recently....

Corine have a great weekend - relax, enjoy and indulge Grin

jamestkirk · 25/05/2011 23:21

hey psycho - if that fella in dumpsville's dating extract reckons he has a chance then we shouldnt have any trouble :o

WillIEverBeASizeTen · 25/05/2011 23:54

Hey psycho welcome aboard:) LP aged 50 (ouch and ouch) DD20 DS13, we are a right friendly bunch, but we do drink a lot (especially rock) personally I only drink Brew Some men like sags and dimples or is it bags n pimples, anyway, I'm sure when the time is right (and so is he Grin) you won't be able to stop exposing Shock

rock Poor Bella, you're real lucky her throat didn't swell up and block her airway! Bless her, those wasp stings bloody hurt. I was stung once years ago and it still makes me go cold when I think about it. Little poppet, I am going to give her a [brave girl sticker]. Why didn't they give you an epipen at the hospital to take home? Suppose it happens in the meantime?
I reckon it's a close call between you n catapult for the naughty corner Wink

catapult It must be such a long day getting up that early, but I don't spose you have much choice:(and you didn't miss the party, cos it's always party time on HMS FFFFFFFFFUN Grin here, it's my round Wine (don't tell Sister)

Well guys, I'm sad because I'm a crap cook, in fact, I'm crap at everything. I cannot think of anything I'm actually good (or even average) at. Sorry, moaning over trivia....

joely corine dumps hope all is ok:)

OP posts:
Joelybear · 26/05/2011 00:54

ten You are good at lots of things, making Brew, drinkingWine, joining in chat and most importantly looking after DC's. Think we tend to loose ourselves in all the crap mess we are going through. You are doing a great job an never loose sight of that (talking to myself as well now - not just you!!).
Just cos you can't cook like rock or drink like catapult or spend time in the naughty corner like either of them does not mean you are not good at anything!! LOL
Hi psycho Me LP for 4 months with 5DC's DS's 18, 17, 4, 22months DD 6.
If an when time is right you'll expose away and think nothing of the extra attachments our aging bodies attatch to us - again talkining to myself to convince myself of that aswell. It is the hardest part being on your own again after being part of a couple for so long. I was with XH for 20 years an looking back although I thought I was part of a couple for all those years in reality it was only on the occassions he wanted to be part of a couple which wasn't to often Sad. However plus side of being LP one less lot of washing, 1 less lot of cooking, 1 lot less of loo roll being used etc etc.. All positives to take forward in the equasion! Grin
Catapult as I type this you will be nearing thinking about waking up, if I was you I'd be meeting myself going to bed some nights!! Hope you doin OK though an not spent too much time in the naughty corner today.
Rock what a worry for you with Bella hope she doin OK an test on Friday aren't too painful for her or you
paul How are you doin? Thinkin of you PM me if you want too I'm here just at very odd mostly late hours!
james, corrine hope you doin OK and waves frantically to everyone else, but very quietly so as not to disturb you good people who are asleep - unlike me!!
Goin to bed now if I can find space as DS3 (4yrs) + DD (6yrs) have invaded my bed as they bit achey and have temperatures. If no space might go an sleep in their bottom bunk. BUT have to get older DS's to turn off their music first before I go. Wish me luck in doing that.
Nite all mines coffee in the mornin whoevers making. Milk no sugar as me sweet enough!!

TheHumanCatapult · 26/05/2011 06:13

Im up and a shower and dressed !! and desperate for a coffee .

Well DD went last night phoned home and spoke to her .They catch Ferry to france tomorrow and stay overnight somewhere and then drive down into Spain arriving on friday hotel over night and then villa on Saturday .Really weird almost glad I am not home as hous ene to quiet .But I do trust the people she is with their more like aunt and uncle to the kids than her real aunts and uncles are ( not that we ever see them ) and she has been so excited about it .( read as in swinging of lights)

Hmm and as for the naughty corner .Looks over sorry can not get in it with all you ladies in it .and is that a step into it opps no can do .I shall just carry on being naughty out hereWink

Rock Hope Bellas feeling ok this morning and she let you have some sleep last night .Can i suggest you keep pirton indoors or in your bag with you all the time and first sign give her a large slug but Epi pens are good to have as a back up
Not sure what Bella weighs but normally you have to be over 15kg to be prescibed one at least in the uk.

Fingers crossed that Spain has sun and hot please for the next 10 days as dd is so looking forward to the pool at the villa

Ten be carefull that you do not trip over that fake halo.Erm Ten your bringing up your kids and your working and you make us laugh so how is that for starters.

psyco Hi Im the imposter in here not quite reach the age group but these fantastic lovely ladies let me join and are doing their level best to corrupt me Grin I have ds1 17Shock ds2 14, dd8 and ds3 who is 5.
Do notge tme on any sags and dimples looking at my poor body I am quite relived to be single so do not need to show it to anyone .Mind think if ever did meet a serious someone I would rather they lived next door I like my own space.
Im currently a guest of the nhs and i would say going mad in here but think was more than half way there already

Joely
Hope the dc are feeling better and did you get your bed to yourself and for you heres a Brew but sorry the milks of .

James*

If not think you can have him instead think I shall happily go to back of the queue

dumps you are far braver than me with internet dating .I would not even know where to start.

Paul hope you are doing ok , waves at evryone else

Joelybear · 26/05/2011 09:25

Mornin all Catapult thanks for Brew even without milk was fine as a wet warm drink was just what I needed!!

Had to move DD over to get space in bed, then kicked and pushed at various times through the night by one or another of them. Sharing a bed with 2 little people is hard work so I have woken up more tired than when I went to bed!! Actually I woke up at 8.30 we have to leave for school at 8.45. Fortunately they were both up dressed + had gotten their own breakfasts so I just pulled on clothes + took them to school. Not allowed to go in PJ's Shock.
Good job I'm not at work to day, so quick trip to shower an get up for real, then sort out DS4 who has just started shouting - think he wants his breakfast.
Speak later hope you all have a good day xx

RockStockandTwoOpenBottles · 26/05/2011 10:00

Morning All,

Catapult tis warm and sunny and the ten day forecast is for mid/high twenties and sunshine. Partially cloudy on Fri/Sat but sun all the way after that. So DD will have a fab time. Though I'm sure she would rain or shine frankly! Bella's just under 13kg so maybe it's the same here? Will find out tomorrow, but have got wholesale quantities of antihistimine - in the car, in the kitchen, in my bag, in the sitting room.....Everywhere! She's much happier this morning, says her knee still hurts but 'only small hurts'

Ten don't be daft Grin you started the thread for one thing! You got your two wonderful children and you make us all giggle as Catapult said. We're always too quick to put ourselves down, but I'll bet that everyone who knows you would have lists as long as their arms full with glowing references.

Joely Urgh to sharing with 2 grots! Bad enough that Bella gets in with me all the frigging time once in a while, but two? I'd sleep in a top bunk to escape them! Have a lazy ish day doing only what's necessary I say! That's what I'm doing to day!!

TheHumanCatapult · 26/05/2011 10:14

glad forcast is for SunGrinshe was so excited about it .infact they should be on the ferry somewhere in middle of the English channel about now .

ok of to go run over some toes and show the physios what i can do .Well as in moving a wheelchair and gettinga round

Joelybear · 26/05/2011 12:31

rock dread reading your messages as you make me Envy you with your weather forcasts!! We have had wind an lots of it over last few days and yesterday and today rain has set in. The kind that is so fine + drizzley you are soaked through in seconds!! OH to be somewhere warm and sunny . But glad Bella improving + yes please to Brew.

Quiet day would be great but been to see new childminder today way DS 4 seems fine and friendly, will be starting with her mid August when the rest go back to school after summer hols as have family coming up to see me an help with child care over summer break.

This afternoon toddlers, then early tea as DS1 off on boat tonight as going to visit Grandma for a few days to think about things escape island life + see some old school friends while he contemplates his future!!

catapult guess you look forward to rocks weather reports for next few days to check it worth DD being on her hols!! Hope you not damaged too many physios toes with your antics.
Must go make lunch before run to toddlers. Oh an we have rainbows tonight so another late night tonight!!
