WLTM single professional mums . .

Emmmm · 29/09/2009 18:45

I am a single parent of a 4 month and 13 year old on maternity leave until next May and would like to meet other single mums in local area (BS6 and environs) particularly those happy to talk of things other than sleep/feeding . . .

Anyone out there?!

As most people can't make it I'll give it a miss tomorrow and I live quite a way from the Museum. I have to be somewhere else at 12.30 anyway so don't want to rush about too much - feeling very wobbly and tired. 11 days to go for me!
Hope to meet up when the babe is born and I'll keep checking the threads to see what's happening.

Damn, that's a shame.

I'm away next week, but how about a fortnight on Friday? That's 29th October, at this Museum place at noon?

We're probably all spread over the place so town might be best. Also, since we're single mums, we could talk about weekends too. But maybe after a few successful meet-ups!!

Well if you fancy it Riven (or anyone else) I'm going to the Royal Oak tomorrow (or maybe today by the time you read this - Friday anyway) at 12.30pm on the corner of Glos rd and Ashley Down rd for lunch with about 3 lovely ladies from my antenatal group and I think a couple of people from netmums are coming too that are new to the area so why don't you come along too and have a nice choc brownie?

By the way guys I?m a political cartoonist that goes by the name of Bluelou and these are my website and blog.

www.bluelou.net/
blueloucartoons.blogspot.com/

I live on a Dutch barge that me and my husband built out of a giant kit from Holland, (Its a bugger getting the pram up the gang plank) its taken 4 years.

My hobbies are collecting MPs on face book, and learning to drive a motorboat at night, leaving my DH with an EBM, as I attempt to drive around without killing rowers.

Was looking forward to some 'intalecktual' chat.
Gloster rds a bit of a day trip cause I don?t drive a car and I have to be in clifton to pick up my other kid from school.

I think Diselexual is a unlucky nickname, time to change it again I think.

Dislexual sorry you sat there alone.
I live in Hotwells so possibly I could wave across the water to you. Or catch cross harbour ferry to the buttery if the sun continues to shine.

Hey all. I had a bit of a morning out with Bristol Gingerbread today. We went up to Blaise Castle and the kids played (well, theirs did - mine's only 4 months!) and we had coffee, and it was pretty good.

Maybe we should all join Gingerbread for weekend stuff? In the meantime, I'm still on for next Friday (23rd) at noon in the Museum. I'll be back from London Wednesday night or Thursday lunchtime, so will def be about.

Emmmm · 19/10/2009 21:24

Sorry the tales of last Friday's meet up were woeful. There's been lots going on since I last logged on - have bought all quiet on western front and will take with us on holiday next week - the 13 year old is reading My Sister's Keeper - so maybe I'll read it first and then pass it on. I just need to finish People of the Book (Geraldine Brookes) first which i haven't really enjoyed but feel like i want to get to the end of to tie all the different threads together. Lindsaygii your tip re Gingerbread sounds good, (if it was 'pretty good') - interesting to find another single mum of a baby - can't be that many of us to have broken up with partner that quickly (if there was a partner?)! I can't do Friday 30th cos will still be in Anglesey. Will be around the Friday after that if Friday is a 'thing'. Saw Dr Parnassus . . today and thought it was pretty brilliant and they managed the whole Heath Ledger thing brilliantly - it was sad though to be reminded of no more Heath Ledger. Meanwhile will be at the post natal yoga on Weds - yippee!

Is anyone meeting up next Friday?

Whilst not technically single (!) my husband works almost every other weekend so I find myself a little bit single some weekends and would be up for meeting up with people who are not all about nappies-feeding-sleeping-teething.

Also, I took voluntary redundancy in April so am a Stay at Home Mummy for the time being (not sure I like that, will have to come up with a more glam term for it..) and most of my antenatal friends are going back to work so in need of some new mummy friends to keep me sane. My son is 11 months old (WHERE did the time go?)

bratnav · 30/10/2009 19:41

Anyone up for next week?

I have a baby for you to cuddle
