Ninjacat · 10/04/2009 12:46

I'm 8 weeks pg and should all go ok will be due in November. Just wondered if there are any more mums to be out there? This is number 2 for me but with a twelve year gap so all feels a bit new.

Ninjacat · 13/10/2009 11:38

Morning Angels glad baby is doing well.

I've just got back from the mid wife. Baby is back to back and free floating so lots of left side sleeping and floor scrubbing for me.

Growth scan booked for Monday.

I'm hoping life will quieten down soon. I feel the need for a break now.

Ninjacat · 15/10/2009 08:03

Don't think I cn make friday. Child has flu

OP posts:
mahalo · 15/10/2009 16:04

Hi Angels,
Great to hear your scan went well and I hope your midwife ap was what you wanted too.
You take it easy (as much as you can) and we'll meet soon. If not at yoga then probably after my babe is born now as only 11 days to go! I am planning to go to the yoga (10 - 11.30) next Weds if I'm feeling up to it. Check out Yogasara website for more details about classes there.
Had scan and doc ap today and all is looking good. Got to go in at 8am on 26th and I'm first c-section of the day. They said I only need to stay in 24 hours if I am recovering well. Did wake up last night in a panic worrying about the operation and impending motherhood - just can't get my head around it!
Ninjacat - sorry to hear that Romain is ill -hope it's a short bout of flu. How you getting on with the floor scrubbing? Maybe a handsome Prince will see you and take you to the ball. I think I'll give the coffee a miss tomorrow too as I have a lunch with antenatal group at 12.30 and don't want to rush about too much- my insides feel like they're going to drop out of my lady bits as it is!
Take care y'all
Mahalo

Ninjacat · 19/10/2009 17:49

I have had my sizing scan and have had it confirmed that I am indeed expecting a monster baby. (Measuring over term already at 35 weeks and not showing signs of engaging soon).
He does have hair though

OP posts:
MyAngels · 20/10/2009 12:50

Oh my Ninja - a monster?! Maybe he'll decide he's ready a little early - they seem to grow so much in the last few weeks, the results could be eyewatering for you!

Thanks for the yoga details mahalo - annoyingly it looks like I'll have to give this Wednesday's class a miss. Work has gone so so busy, and I barely have a moment to myself. When I'm not working I'm trying to sort the nursery - I did about 10 loads of washing yesterday - babygrows and bedding and other DD clothes which are being "recycled" to the new baby.

Counting the minutes till I can finish work next week...

Hugs to you both

xx

Good morning ladies

OP posts:
mahalo · 22/10/2009 19:38

heelllloo,
Trying to get my head round the idea of being a mum on Monday!
I go in at 8am and I have the honour of being the first 'sunroof' of the day.
Keep staring at the Moses basket and thinking how soon it will be full of baby.
Prepared as I can be but still dunno what to expect.
Great that you can finish work next week Angels - what a relief.
Anyway I'll keep you posted on the news,
Mahalo

Ninjacat · 23/10/2009 10:08

By Tuesday you will never be able to picture your life without her

Best of luck with the op. Can't believe we're at this point already.

You'll be a fab mum, enjoy it.

OP posts:
MyAngels · 23/10/2009 10:32

Hi

Best of luck mahalo - am so excited for you seeing your lovely baby on Monday, after everything. It will be an emotional day.
It's good to be the first - you get to spend all day with her...

Am rather envious as I have reached the "really would like to have this baby out" stage now, but I know its better to let them stay till they are ready and a few weeks of maternity leave would be nice (I fancy staying in bed in the mornings with a book - luxury!).

DH has decided he would like a new car (a brand new SMax people carrier) - he usually only spends £1000 on an old banger and runs it till it dies, so I think the "dad of two kids" thing is kicking in with him now the nursery is ready.

Off for 36 week appointment with GP this morning - am going to ask about the swine flu jab. Am I likely to be offered it in time - should I take it?

Am going to start the raspberry leaf tea tomorrow too.

Hugs to you both

xx

Ninjacat · 23/10/2009 10:37

Angels I have just started on the raspberry leaf tea. Do you know how many cups we should have a day?

OP posts:
MyAngels · 26/10/2009 12:27

Hi Ninjacat

I read somewhere about 1 per day for the first week (week 36) and then 2 per day for the next week, 3 per day for the third and so on...

I can't remember what I've done in the past (I have drunk it for both previous pregnancies), so will probably go with the above, until I get desperate to have him out and up the daily cups in the hope it helps!

Hope you are feeling ok. I have been thinking about mahalo all morning and hoping she is giving her little one a lovely cuddle by now.

Hugs
xx

Ninjacat · 27/10/2009 21:04

Hi Angels how are you?
Thanks for the advice on the tea.
Mahalo has had her baby but I'll leave it up to her to tell you all about it.
I'm feeling quite scared now. Have had a small bleed and now have Big Baby written all over my notes so not sure what to expect.
We should try and do coffee before these boys make their appearance.

OP posts:
MyAngels · 28/10/2009 09:36

Hi there

Sending hugs to help with the scared feelings - I'm not surprised with such a large one on the way. If he's so large it might not be long now, if he thinks he's ready

I had a bit of a scare yesterday - had the worst headache ever and wo was worried about pre-eclampsia even though I didn't have any swelling. Ended up at the out of hours GP for a check, but the diagnosis was a nasty case of sinusitis and a quick administration of antibiotics which seems to be doing the job, thankfully.

I am getting to the wanting it all over safely stage now.

It would be lovely to do coffee - I'm free from next week onwards - let me know a good day - maybe sooner rather than later!

Glad to hear that mahalo has delivered - please pass on my best if you are in contact with her.

Hugs
xx

mahalo · 28/10/2009 22:00

Mahalo is here and all safely back at home!
Very anxious going into the operating theatre but once it was started I was completely fine and it was over so quickly - about half an hour I think from beginning to end.
Two nights in hospital and discharged with lots of lovely drugs this afternoon.
Bowled over with love for our little girl - Seren. She's really mellow at the moment - maybe the calm before the storm!
Lots of tears when I got home. Tears of joy at having a beautiful baby but sadness too that we weren't bringing her home to meet her big sister who would have been 18 months now.
Loads of love, light and luck to you both for safe deliveries and hope to hear from you soon,
x

MyAngels · 29/10/2009 11:04

Congratulations mahalo and welcome to little Seren - what a lovely name.

I can understand the tears at bringing her home - we were the same bringing home DD after not being able to bring home our first lovely boy.

I hope you are taking it as easy as you can - it would be nice to meet Seren soon...

Lots of love
xx

Ninjacat · 03/11/2009 23:28

I am sooo knackered I can't write but hope all is well.

OP posts:
MummyElk · 04/11/2009 06:47

Morning all
Woke up with cramp (must relearn to not stretch with toes pointed!!) so am having some nice quiet time downstairs.
Congratulations mahalo on beautiful Seren, gorgeous name. I hope you are getting on ok in these first few weeks!
Everyone else ok?
I've started yoga at Yogawest on gloucs rd, Yogasara sounded lovely but I couldn't work out childcare.
who is due next? (i lose track, sorry)

Emmmm · 05/11/2009 10:21

Congratulations on birth of seren mahalo! great news and v moving to read your tears of joy and sadness. LOL smile

Ninjacat · 08/11/2009 10:03

Good morning.
Sorry to go quiet for a while. 38 weeks on Monday and really starting to feel uncomfortable here. Monster baby seems to show no signs of emerging but I kind of know how he feels because I don't seem to be able to find the energy to leave my own home. I like it here, it's warm and comfortable and no one tells me how huge I am constantly.

Angels how are you getting on? We are due about the same time me thinks? Hope you are enjoying mat leave.

MummyElk sorry to hear about the cramp. I've had to leap out of bed a few mornings with cramp in my calf. Ow ow ow it's not nice.

Emmms hope you are well and enjoyed the holiday. Did your daughter read All Quiet on the Western Front? What did she think?

Mahalo hope you are getting the rest you need.

Angels and any one else who is up for it I am free on Tuesday for coffee and cake if I can still fit through the front door by then?

OP posts:
MyAngels · 08/11/2009 18:45

Hi there Ninja and all..

I'm still here and getting larger - no sign of baby just yet, but have to say that I'm ready (anytime from Wednesday onwards really - we're having a new telly delivered then, and I'm having my hair done on Tuesday (but could meet up afterwards (2.30pm onwards) if you don't mind having a 2 year old about too)).

But from Thursday onwards the diary is free - we are off out for a curry Wednesday night and I'm hoping it (and some other "actvity") might help things along....

I have my 38 week appointment with the midwife tomorrow and am really hoping that she will say that he is engaged and heading south..

Big hugs to all

xx

Ninjacat · 09/11/2009 08:54

I could do Tuesday after 2.30pm or any time the following week if baby has not arrived.

OP posts:
mahalo · 09/11/2009 18:33

Hello ladies,
Just checking in. Managing to just about keep my eyes open to write this!
Best of luck for the impending births Ninja and Angels.
Think I've got a case of the baby blues (hope it's nothing more than that) pretty tearful and feeling anxious quite a lot of the time. Been reading a very supportive post on the national mumsnet site with lots of new mums describing how they felt overwhelmed and anxious to start with. Hope these feelings pass soon.
Bye for now,
Mahalo x

Ninjacat · 09/11/2009 19:50

Mahalo have you spoken to your midwife about how you are feeling? I'm sure it's just baby blues but it's always a good idea to keep an eye on these things just in case.
I'm on mat leave now so if there is anything you need I'm here just hanging around waiting for the baby to arrive. Please feel free to call, I can provide soup, cakes and broad shoulders.
Lots of big hugs for you x

MyAngels · 10/11/2009 09:41

Hi there Ninjacat

My childcare has gone a bit astray today so meeting up will be tricky, which is such a shame. I would love to meet up next week, but do wonder if both of us will have delivered by then (wishful thinking?)

Sending big hugs and will keep in touch

Angels
xx

Ninjacat · 10/11/2009 09:53

No problem Angels. Let me know how things stand next week. I am convinced every twinge is labour at the moment but as I went 2 weeks over last time I doubt he's in a hurry to escape.
