I'm 8 weeks pg and should all go ok will be due in November. Just wondered if there are any more mums to be out there? This is number 2 for me but with a twelve year gap so all feels a bit new.

Lurk away MummyElk. Mahalo is due end of Oct, Angels and I end of Nov but all our babies will be in the same school year

Where are you due to have your baby?

Mahalo Love the Bowie story.

I have almost perfected the five star heart explosion stance. Not sold on the lemon juice after all.

Protein test came back "contaminated" but they didn't seem too bothered, told me to go to dr if in any pain.

My birthball has arrived! I love it have been bouncing away, couldn't recommend it enough.

Spent Saturday at a cider and cheese fair in Taunton mmm... Hope you are all having a good weekend.

I'm quite flexible for cake (carrot please - with a side order of gaviscon) Bring on the maternity leave - Pleeease

Hi there both and MummyElk

Glad to hear everyone seems to be fine and eating lots (cider, cheese, dairy milk) - I have a thing for Rice Krispies and Snickers at the moment (not both at the same time, but maybe that'll be next weeks desire.)

Had to sleep on the settee last night as really can't get comfy in bed. I've ordered one of those long pillow things, but still think I'm going to be sleeping downstairs for duration - it was so much comfier...

DH is having his gallbladder out on Wednesday - the NHS pulled its finger out and scheduled him in within the week of his doc appointment instead of waiting till the beginning of November as expected (cutting it a bit fine baby-wise). Its only keyhole day surgery, but I'm sure he will make the most of it and need a lot of "nursing". Will get DD to look after him with her nurses outfit and doctor bag!

The cot is up! The nursery needs painting still, but we have made a start.

I have brought forward my leaving date at work - now 30 October. Not long now...

I'm around any afternoon but Thursdays for cake in the week (I'll have anything except chocolate cake...) Looking forward to seeing you.

Off for a nap now!

Hugs

Ninja - re last night's yoga and how I must have looked in some of those grunty postures...stuck and pig come to mind...
Just off to antenatal in a bit to learn about 'return to fitness' - dragging Dan along too in case the return to fitness involves him learning how to massage me every day or something.
Angels - hope your man is ok. I've got one of those long pillows too and have to wash it very often coz I am soooo sweaty - nice!
Saw Emmmmms thread about meeting mums to talk about anything other than babies - I'm up for that. I'd better start watching news 24 and swotting up so I can hold witty and intelligent conversations (or something like that).
Emmmm says she's free on Fridays to meet in cafe on glos rd. Any good for you all (mummy Elk included) Maybe Friday 9th or Friday 16th at Coffee number 1?
What times are good for you lot?
Mahalo

Ninjacat · 02/10/2009 20:46

Mahalo I didn't have my contacts in so couldn't see a thing. You are practically a yogic master compared to me. Coordination has never been one of my strong points (that's pretty much echoed in my dress sense too) but I'm always a willing volunteer.

Hope you are enjoying maternity leave.

16th is best for me when it comes to coffee.

Too tired to make mush sense. Hope all are well.

OP posts:
Ninjacat · 05/10/2009 09:22

I could do the 9th if it's in the morning but Mahalo is that your Birthday?

OP posts:
Ninjacat · 05/10/2009 09:26

Silly me, maths is not my forte in the morning. Hope you have some nice plans for Weds?

OP posts:
mahalo · 05/10/2009 15:33

Yep, massage, food and Joan Baez concert. Love a bit of the ole folky dolky music.
All getting a bit complicated now - all this posting on two threads! Too much for my little brain!
Yes Friday morning is good with me. 10.30 any good?
Angels/Mummy Elk you around this Friday morn for coffee at Coffee no1?
Mahalo

Ninjacat · 06/10/2009 08:15

Hi Mahalo yes my birtball and I will be at yoga (decided easier to answer you on the one thread), will you be there?

Sounds like you have lots of lovely birthday plans for tomorrow, I'm very . Hope you have a fab day.

Any chance we could do 10am Fri?

Angels and MummyElk are you out there? Hope all is well

Hi there

Sorry to have been so quiet - went away for the weekend to Devon - supposedly a nice "last" break before the little one arrived, but seeing as it was only 2 days after DH's operation he wasn't feeling great, and I was knackered doing everything myself and being so fat it wasn't the lovely family weekend I'd imagined. Luckily friends were coming too for a day to help look after DD for a bit, otherwise we would have come straight home again. We drove home with us both being very grumpy yesterday and to be quite honest I'm glad to be back home. Oh dear!

I can't make coffee on Friday morning as I have to go to the office for a leaving do, but could do the following Friday 16th afternoon. Would love to get out and about..

Feeling so shattered at the moment and its making me grumpy and teary rather than the nesting earth mother I so want to be!

Not long now Mahalo - its the 20 something isn't it? Happy birthday too....

Hope to see you soon

Hugs

Shall we make it the 16th then for our cake feast? 10am is just fine by me. Rather smelly this morning as the water is off so haven't been able to wash of the debris of the night sweats!
Just you take it easy Angels - treat yourself whenever you can.
Yes I'm wobbling down to yoga on Thurs, Ninjacat - hopefully I'll have been able to have a wash by then
Mahalo

Ninjacat · 06/10/2009 20:47

could do both?

OP posts:
MummyElk · 06/10/2009 21:00

Would love to meet up, Friday though i think i have someone coming round for coffee!! sorry. and the 16th i'm off to the scillies for a random week...i might be able to make the morning but will leave it till nearer the time if that's ok.
Glad you all ok, Devon is a great place to be for your last weekend myangels but sorry it didn't go completely to plan.

all fine here, am 16weeks (i think) and MW app tomorrow. all good fingers crossed etc.
sorry to have lapsed on my lurking

mahalo · 06/10/2009 22:31

Hi MummyElk,
Tried several preg yoga places in Bristol. I go to Relaxed Birth and Parenting group on glos rd. Put the name into google and you can see the contact details as they are run at several diff places. I have also done yoga at St Michaels church, again on the Glos rd that's run by Tessa at damayoga.com
I am going to go to Yogasara on Weds morns from next week (as well as Relaxed Birth group) as they do pre natal and post natal yoga so hope to carry on going there after I've dropped the babber.
Bring your friend down to coffee no1 for coffee instead on Fri!
Hope your MW app goes well and you get to hear the galloping heart beat.
Yep, MyAngels my c-section is on 26th Oct - 2 weeks and 6 days to go...
Ninjacat, I replied on t'other thread that I am up for this Fri and 16th as well. Don't really have a dazzling social life at the moment so have plenty of windows free for coffee and cake.
Mahalo

Ninjacat · 07/10/2009 14:23

Happy Birthdat to ya, Happy Birthday
Hope you are having a fab day.
See you tomorrow.

MummyElk glad you have updated to stalker status . We must make a date that you can make.

Angels sorry to hear you had a blue time in Devon. Hope things get easier soon. Hope to meet you on the 16th x

OP posts:
mahalo · 07/10/2009 22:24

shall we bake it a cake?

MyAngels · 08/10/2009 10:38

Hi there

Coffee on the 16th is OK for me, looking forward to it. I'm supposed to be working mornings, but have a couple of leave days owing, and DD will be at the childminder (thankfully - you wouldn't want her along too - more of a diva than Mariah Carey at the moment...). Whereabouts is Coffee No1? (Apologies.. I'm a country bumpkin)

I was sick and had a tummy upset for the first time in ages the other night (and had lots of bad Braxton Hicks). GP thinks that its dehydration and a UTI so am on antibiotics - that is probably one reason why I'm so teary and grumpy recently. Was panicing that I might be in early labour - no bag packed, moses basket and sheets still in loft, DH can't drive yet after his op - aaah! Luckily baby seems to be staying put and I have calmed down. But I did put the babygros in the wash and started to pack my bag.

Well better get on with a bit of work - only 17 days of it left!!!

Hugs

Hi MyAngels,
Sorry to hear that things aren't so great at the moment. Yes I know what you mean about the Braxton Hicks - when my tummy gets even a little bit dodgy the contractions really kick in. Are you able to treat yourself to a massage or relaxation class?
I'm really sorry but I won't be able to make the 16th as I am going up to my parents in the Midlands for a couple of days and will be back late Friday eve. Was a very last minute arrangement and wanted to get up there and see them and old friends before THE BIRTH...
Free plenty of other mornings and afternoons though - Weds 14th (free from 12 - 5pm), anytime on mon 19th, Tues 20th, Friday 23rd anytime. Also, I'm going to pregnancy yoga at yogasara centre in Montpelier on Weds 14th 10-11.30 and Weds 21st 10-11.30 if you want to join me?
Just off to put my legs round my head (or something like that) with Ninjacat at yoga class (another class).
Mahalo

Ninjacat · 11/10/2009 08:17

This is me having a Sunday morning lie in! Bump is in fidget mode.

Hope everyone is well and that Angel you are feeling a bit perkier.

I managed to get myself admitted to delivery suite again yesterday basically with braxton hicks (or Branston Pickles as they are known in my house) and neurosis. Any way baby is not even engaged so no fear he is about to turn up soon but bump is measuring 39wks at 34wks so have been booked in for a scan.

Due in court tomorrow. Don't know what will happen as his dad has asked for an adjournment (he did this on Friday). For various reasons I have said no but will have to wait and see if he turns up now.

I think I'm free-ish on the 19th and 20th (as long as the wriggly one doesn't decide to put in an appearance) if any of you are up for coffee?

N

OP posts:
mahalo · 11/10/2009 14:37

Change of plan! Realised I can't go to Midlands as have hospital appointment/scan/meeting with consultant to discuss c-section so I'll be around Friday afternoon after all. I'm busy between 12 and 2 but after that/before that I'm as free as a bird.
Ninjacat - good for you for getting checked out at the hospital - I've done it twice in a panic.
Hope all goes as well as it can do at court.
I think our thread is a little hungover as it was out celebrating its 6 month anniversary last night.
Angels - coffee no1 is on Gloucester Rd in Bishopston in amongst lots of other cafes such as Cafe Delight.
Just off to eat the remains of last night's takeaway.
Bye for now,
Mahalo

Ninjacat · 11/10/2009 19:10

I can do before 12.
Or the evening?

OP posts:
mahalo · 12/10/2009 19:18

Hey ladies,
The other thread (single, professional mums one) seems to have taken over the planning for the meeting on Friday. Angels, if you haven't been reading it the plan is to meet about 10am and probably at the Museum as easier for buggies.
Check the thread in a couple of days for confirmation.
Midwife round this morn - all is big, bright and healthy. Head is right down in the pelvis now ready for action - hope it stays put for the next two weeks tho!
You at yoga on Thurs Ninjacat? I am.
I'm getting properly elbowed in the side by the babber as I'm writing this - ow!
Must go and eat,
Mahalo

Ninjacat · 13/10/2009 07:46

Have a meeting at 12 but can do an hour or so as live 5mins from museum. Will start swatting up now.

Will be at Yoga on Thursday all being well. Rom is sick and off school with bad cold/flu.

Court went well despite his Dad doing a no show, had to be conducted via his solicitor with him on the phone. We now have no order in place at all so feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders.

Is it wrong to eat chocolate torte for breakfast?

Hi there

Sorry I keep disappearing - don't really know why, life is pretty busy and I'm not sure where the time goes...

I was hoping to have a day off on Friday for coffee, but have realised that Friday is my boss's last day before 3 weeks on holiday and so also the last day we will be working together before I go off. And there's a huge amount of work to do , so have decided I'd better work instead.

But I do have a couple of days owing and was thinking of going to the yoga next Wed (21st)morning, mahalo, are you still planning to go? Is that the same yoga place that does postnatal and baby yoga ? as I would really like to do that too afterwards.

I have just been for my 34 week growth scan - baby is definitely a boy (well she could see his bits, its all a blur to me!) and he is bang on the 50th centile, which is good, and head down, so at least facing the right way for the exit. We took DD to the scan, she was extremely underwhelmed, which isn't surprising, there's not much to see when the baby starts to get large.

I have the midwife this afternoon - I'm hoping we get to talk birth plans - don't think I ever bothered before, but with a tragic birth before I want to be a bit more in control this time.

Glad to hear the babies are doing well and also glad the court hearing went OK for you too ninja. Hopefully there's not too much stress for us all in the next few weeks.

If you are free for coffee my life quietens down (hopefully) after this week and I could probably fit something in most days.

Hugs to all
