rosmerta · 31/12/2008 09:43

Speaking of which, has anyone heard from Paddle?

sparklyxmasfairy · 31/12/2008 09:44

good morning all

Ros not sure what I will do or when dd wants the merry go round at Kew so hope it is still there, think we will go after 11

SJ hope you had a good night and things are a bit better

hope all colds and various illnesses of little ones ease up

not making any resolutions as such for 2009 but am quite pleased I did not sink into depression this winter for the first time in a few years so that is good enough for me, especially coming after a difficult summer.
onwards and upwards I think

sparklyxmasfairy · 31/12/2008 09:45

heard from paddle just before Christmas, don't think she is in London now

sparklyxmasfairy · 31/12/2008 09:46

or rather at the moment

mellow2 · 31/12/2008 09:57

Well done sparkly fairy. Well I guess I haven't been too depressed myself this winter so I guess that's a plus.

rosmerta · 31/12/2008 10:05

Ok sfx, if we're going it will proabably be in the next hour. If you do go then text me & I'll let you know if we're still there!

AtheneNoctua · 31/12/2008 10:49

Mornin!

I really suffering from motivation at work. I have today and Friday to go. (I know you all already know this but I just get pleasure out of typing it over and over. )

I have no boss here (because he reigned before I did, which I must say spoiled all of my fun). So who is really gonna care if I don't get anything done.

Anyway, COV, I am plunging straight into the new job on Monday, when I will hopefully find out if my next project lies in London or Aberdeen. I'm hoping for London, but I did agree to M-F travel to Aberdeen so if they want to send me there, off I'll go.

Ros, I do think you worry less about number 2. I definitely did/do. With DD I was always eager to see her reach the next milestone by the time the book said she should. With DS its more like so long as he can walk by the time he has to go to school that's cool.

Hope everyone is well. Haven't really done a proper catch up. Sorry.

rosmerta · 31/12/2008 13:34

Athene, the last couple of days when you're leaving are always the hardest! Hope its not too bad

Sfx, sorry we missed you. Maybe next time

I feel really bad though. We left Kew & started walking back but it wasn't until we were over Kew Bridge that I realised ds1 was crying because his feet were so cold . So we had to catch the bus home.

MaSTARRecycle · 31/12/2008 14:19

Hola! Happy new year to everyone. Sorry have a mountain of clothes to conquer so no time to catch up. Had a lovely time in Tenerife although it did rain a couple of days. But at least it wasn't cold.

pcworld · 31/12/2008 14:52

Hola Mrs R! Glad to hear you had a great time, am v of the tan! Knackered, was up with ds last night who was hacking away and crying, so now that he is down for a cheeky afternoon sleep, I think I'll have one too! dd has gone to work with daddy today

Athene, you were asking about Wagamamas Richmond for your meet-up - well, I drove past it this morning and it looks as though it has re-opened so you should be ok.

Ros - the pics are adorable!

Think I may end up sleeping my way into 2009! zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

sparklyxmasfairy · 31/12/2008 14:57

hi mrsR sounds like a nice break

Ros no worries we stayed only a short while then went shopping dd complained the about the cold the entire time when she was not riding the horse in the carrousel

mellow thanks

we went looking for gloves for dd and Marks was mad people grabbing food off the shelves like it is the last day open for weeks, we left with only a few items bit too push and shove for me

sfxmum · 31/12/2008 16:46

quick wave just checking something

SJ99 · 31/12/2008 16:54

Hello all

Athena - good luck with new job, hope it is a vast improvement. I nearly relocated to Aberdeen in a former life, I still have friends there

MrsR - Glad you enjoyed your hols

Ros - will email you about cleaner's details

PCW - hope you had a good snooze, I made sure I had one too today, all snuggly with baby

Sfx - good attitude re: winter depression, well done. i think DH is going to raid M&S for our NYE night in, hope there's some stuff left on the shelves

Docs checked DS2, said he's not in danger but should his temp rise or if he gets dehydrated then we've to go to A&E immediately. Otherwise just have to wait til cough and cold subside.

I think I do worry less with DS2, well, I find the things that would have panicked me with DS1 don't even register this time round, obviously it's different when they're ill. He was awake every hr til 4am & was sick but then he did sleep til 9am and so did DS1 so I did get a decent chunk of sleep eventually

mygreatauntgriselda4christmas · 31/12/2008 20:34

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! XXX

slng · 31/12/2008 20:57

hello all!

Been to Chinatown this pm to have my hair cut really short and got takeaway for tea. Yum! Went very well with champagne!

MrsR - Glad you had a nice holiday!

SJ - hope DS2 gets back on his feet (figuratively speaking) soon!

sfx - we went looking for a hat for DS1 and ended up buying the only item in the whole world NOT on sale... What a fusspot DS1 is. Have you renounced festive name?

Auntie - have you gone mad with FB!? Good pics though!

Ros - lovely pics! How is first day solo?

Preemptive happy new year to everybody, since I'm NOT staying up till midnight!

ps Anyone done Kew on New Year's day before? Would it be packed?

OP posts:
sfxmum · 31/12/2008 21:03

, can hardly wait

KewcumbersRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 01/01/2009 01:23

Happy New Year everyone.

Been a bumpy year but 2009 started with DS tucked up in bed safe and sound and you can't really ask for a better start to the year than that can you?

AtheneNoctua · 01/01/2009 09:23

Mornin' Wonder if Auntie's got a sore head?

We are boring old fogies and didn't do anything out of the ordinary. Went to bed at 10:30 after watching some telly. Howver, I can't remember when I ever felt so well on New Years Day morning so am sort of enjoying it now.

Years sgo my SIL told me that eating fish on New Years Day is supposed to bring money in the year. So, we eat fish and chips avery New Years Day. It probably has no effect, but hey why take any chances?

So.... New Year resolution? Mine is drop a stone by my birthday (July).

Have we rescheduled the Mamamia night?

SJ99 · 01/01/2009 10:33

Happy new Year to all

pcworld · 01/01/2009 11:03

Happy new year!

Kew, that is the perfect start to the year. Here's to a happy and healthy '09!

I actually went to a party last night! Home early though (had dd with me) and so did, as predicted, sleep my way into 2009

Have decided that all resolutions etc will not come into force until Monday "back to school day"

sfxmum · 01/01/2009 11:15

good morning and happy new year all

KC here is to a new year with fewer hospital emergencies

sfxmum · 01/01/2009 11:16

xoxo · 01/01/2009 12:28

mygreatauntgriselda4christmas · 01/01/2009 13:18

SFX PMSL about "can't wait for Boris"

Slng: "Auntie goes wild on FB?" . Just threw Barack Obama at 67 people by mistake - only meant to throw him at my friend who fancies him

Cina town sounds fab - haven't been there for ages (in fact I haven't been to most places for ages...)

I threw some fairy dust and a little black dress on last night and parties until 3am !!!

Feeling a bit Rough today for some reason...
